Stigma Unstuck: A Mental Health Arts Series at Tufts

Opening Reception featuring The Many Faces of Our Mental Health exhibit, January 24th

You are invited to an Opening Reception for Stigma Unstuck: A Mental Health Arts Series at Tufts on Thursday, January 24th at 5-7:30 p.m. in the 4th floor of the Collaborative Learning & Innovation Complex, 574 Boston Ave, Medford. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend.

This event highlights the installation of The Many Faces of Our Mental Health, conceived of by artist Lynda Cutrell working in collaboration with partners from science and journalism, to address issues of stigma and mental illness. Large scale portraits, three-dimensional sculptures, video installations and paintings, as well as white boards for capturing viewers reactions, will be on view across all four floors of the Tufts building

Stigma Unstuck: A Mental Health Art Series at Tufts is a multi-event art and film series aimed at bringing greater awareness and understanding to mental health issues to facilitate shifts in attitudes that perpetuate stigma and discrimination in our community. Additional arts events focused on mental health are planned or in development for throughout the spring 2019 semester. Stigma Unstuck initiative is coordinated by Tufts’ Community Health Department and the Community Health Improvement Department of Cambridge Health Alliance, with current supporting partners including at Tufts (Tisch College of Civic Life, Wellness and Health, Theatre and Dance, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Health Promotion and President's Office) and in the community (Somerville Health Foundation, Somerville Health & Human Services, NAMI- MA and Cambridge/Middlesex).
