Puppet Palooza 2019: “An Arabian Adventure” by Tanglewood Marionettes

Set in exotic lands against a colorful story book backdrop, An Arabian Adventure is a thrilling, swashbuckling tale filled with daring escapes, magic, and few surprises along the way. Our story tells the tale of a Persian prince who is thrown into a dungeon because of his love for a beautiful princess. Facing danger at every turn, the courageous prince must use his wits to escape his prison, defeat the diabolical Vizier, and save the princess from a tragic fate. Replete with clever stage illusions and lighting effects, An Arabian Adventure is a fast-paced, action-packed drama with hand-crafted marionettes, brought to life as the dramatic events unfold. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

As our event season comes to a close, the Somerville Arts Council takes you on one last adventure: “Puppet Palooza 2019: Tales from Around the World!” Stories have always been a connective thread that brings cultures together. For this series, Tales from Around the World, our featured performers bring those stories to life. Audiences are whisked away on journeys to far-away lands featuring global tales from Africa, Persia, Indonesia, and many more. So, grab your passport and prepare for thrilling escapes and unexpected surprises along the way.
Puppet Palooza is thrilled to bring the art of puppetry to East Somerville. Join us for a five-part puppetry extravaganza, showcasing local, national, and international performing companies.
