Every year on a selected Monday, children and adults from across Canada's five time zones engage in a unique community-building ritual: they sing a song specially written for the event -- at the exact same time, together. For 2013, the voices of Canadians on the ground were joined by Cammander Chris Hadfield of the International Space Station. Chris wrote the 2013 song with Barenaked Ladies frontman Ed Robertson to capture the wonder of seeing the earth from space. This video highlights the earth - space collaboration as Chris and Ed perform with the Wexford Gleeks choir. As Chris sings, "I can hear your voices bouncing off the moon."

The 21st century is an amazing time to live. Victorians would be totally unbelieving. What will be happening in the 22nd century if it as different?

What a wonderful song! Not only catchy, it's also a wonderful reminder that we are all from ONE place. It's amazing that we are living in an age where we can video conference with one of our own who is not on the planet, and who is looking back us from space, and who knows that Earth is not the extent of our reach, but that it is home for ALL of us. Inspiring and humbling.
