Casaundra Dotts Ho, right, of Minden, Nevada, wears her wedding dress under her graduation robe during the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine Commencement ceremony Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman. Dotts Ho got married Friday and graduated on Saturday.
Before receiving her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Washington State University Saturday night, Cassie Dotts graduated her 3 1/2-year relationship with University of Idaho graduate Ben Ho to marry in a double-knot ceremony in Moscow on Friday.
Dotts, 26, met Ho, 29, on Match.com while the Vandal was working toward his degree in fishery science. The couple had been engaged for a year when Dotts said her graduation seemed like a good time to get married because family and friends would already be in town.
"For me, I like to reuse," she said. "I don't like to buy things for one-time use."
Dotts wore her vet school cap and gown Saturday with her wedding dress under it, which she said would allow her to change back and forth for friends and family who wanted to see her as both graduate and newlywed.
The couple plans to move to Dotts' native Nevada where she will try to find a job as a veterinarian in Las Vegas.
"He's an amazing man," she said of her husband. "I'm very happy to be with him and happy for our next chapter."
