Police are appealing for help in tracing a 13-year-old boy who they believe could be in Birkenhead, Wirral.

Liam Anderson has not been seen since around 11am on Wednesday in the Holyhead area of North Wales.

He is described as 5ft 4, with a thin build and short brown cropped hair and a freckled complexion.

Sergeant Rhys Gough, who is managing the search, told the ECHO: "I am appealing for anyone who has sighted Liam, or knows of his whereabouts, to contact the police.

"His family have had no contact with him since late morning and we are concerned for his welfare.

"Liam has family in the Birkenhead area and part of our enquiries are focused in this area.”

He added: "I’d also appeal to Liam himself to contact police or family and friends to let them know that he is safe and well.”

Anyone with any information should contact North Wales police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote R182247.
