Ford tops Kelley Blue Book‘s list for ’10 Best Green Cars’

Ford C-Max Energi When it comes to the best picks for “green” vehicles, Ford tops the list.

Among Kelley Blue Book’s “10 Best Green Cars of 2013,” Ford Motor Co. earned three spots on the list with the Focus Electric, C-MAX Energi and the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid.  

The“10 Best Green Cars of 2013” are chosen by Kelley Blue Book editors for being the most environmentally friendly and fuel efficient cars.

Touted by Ford as America’s most fuel-efficient five-passenger car, the Focus Electric offers the equivalent of 110 miles per gallon (MPGe) city, 99 MPGe highway, and operates entirely on battery-generated power.  The Focus Electric also has been certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to offer 105 MPGe combined.

C-MAX Energi offers an EPA-estimated 100 MPGe combined – 108 MPGe city, 92 MPGe highway with a total range of up to 620 miles and an electric-only range of up to 21 miles.

The all-new 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid delivers an EPA-certified 45 mpg city, 45 mpg highway and 45 mpg combined.

All three of the Ford vehicles feature SmartGaugewith EcoGuide that gives owners a more connected, fuel-efficient driving experience by coaching them on how to optimize hybrid performance.

The other vehicles on the list include the Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model S, Chevrolet Volt, Toyota Prius Plug-In, Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid , Honda Fit  EV and the hybrid model of the Toyota Avalon.

Design
The G580 retains many of the design aspects of the G-Class you already know and love, and while the concept iteration had some modern touches, like light bars on the exterior of the car, the real-world version looks pretty similar to the non-electric G-Wagon, though that's not to say there aren't any design changes whatsoever.
