WARNING: Just like my warning from the last book, do not read this review if you don't want spoilers from book one and two.

FINALLY!!!! Olivia and David are finally together!!!!

I feel like I and other readers deserve medals for our patience with this couple. So, it's all smooth sailing now, right?

HA!!! It's as if you don't know this author at all. Have you not being paying attention?!?!

All joking aside, this book was definitely less angsty compared to the two previous books, which nearly sent me to the hospital. But there is angst, courtesy of . . . . . come on, you can guess . . .

Yes, Olivia. Even now having taken the big leap with David, she seems to have second thoughts just about every two hours. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating, but it felt like it was at least daily. Her second guessing was mostly due to Bill. Yes, good ol' Bill. I had to keep reminding myself that he is not the bad guy in this series, but he really annoyed the shit out of me in this book. The lying, the begging, the anger. I get the last part, but that always followed the two previous emotions making him look like a giant ass. This is not verbatim, but it went something like this: "David doesn't love you, he's a man-whore and can't commit. Please stay with me!!!! No? Well fine, whore, go be with him and don't come crawling back to me!" See, annoying.

I haven't really talked about Olivia's friends in the previous books, but each have a very important stance in this book that greatly affects Olivia's emotional roller-coaster. Let's get the bad out of the way. Lucy, bless her soul. I was completely torn with her reaction to Olivia leaving Bill. On the one hand, it showed how damaging affairs can be beyond the couple. On the other hand, she really didn't give Olivia a chance at forgiveness. She picked a side, the easy one, and walked. Then there is Gretchen. I really wasn't a fan of her in the previous books, but she proves her worth in this book. Not only is she a cheerleader for Olivia and David, seeing her friend happy and in love. She also is there to push Olivia when she begins to overthink things.

While Olivia could be grating at times, David is beyond swoonworthy in this book. From the Pretty Woman moment, to his extreme changes to accommodate and welcome Olivia into his world, I never doubted her decision to be with him. These two also show that their passion doesn't fade with time. When they both fully commit to each other, forever, it's a beautiful thing.

This series can't be over already can it? 4.5 dreamy stars!

"When you love that hard, it's almost inevitable that someone will end up hurt. I never understood why anyone would risk it."

What an amazing finale to this series this was. The writing by Jessica Hawkins as always, managed to capture the overwhelming emotions of love, loss, hurt, recovery and desire absolutely spot on. At times I found myself reading whilst covering my hand over my chest - it felt that real...

[image error] photo images_zps42038532.jpg

I don't want to write too much about the details of this book for those who haven't read the first 2 in the series. What I will say however, is that David most definitely continued to deliver - What a man! *sigh*

I will most certainly look out for more books by this Author. What a brilliant series this was. Sad its over.

An emotional roller coaster! I think my heart stopped more than once while reading. It's such a fast paced, painfully twisted love story, and HOT, HOT, HOT!! You get to experience Davis and Olivia's love story and all the drama that being together causes. I am just a little sad that the story has ended. I would love to know what else lies ahead for the character's. The epilogue was perfect, everything was wrapped up nicely.

David, OMG my body warms up just writing your name. He is all swoon worthy. His love for Olivia is clear, transparent.

Thank you Jessica for an amazing read!!!!! You are an amazing writer! I look forward to reading and enjoying more of your books!!

If you haven't read the series, you need to. Now.

Whew...finally finished the "Come" Trilogy and I must say, it was a fantastic emotional roller coaster. Jessica Hawkins succinctly captured the desperation, angst, confusion and complexity involved with a romantic/sexual entanglement outside of one's marriage. Hawkins took it even further by detailing a scenario in which a person pursues their soul mate even though it turns out said soul mate is not their spouse.

(Spoiler alert) When I read book 1 I was rather perturbed with Olivia's inability to simply commit to a decision. Either pick Bill and make it work, or pick David and leave Bill behind. Of course, she dragged out the decision and hurt both her love interests unnecessarily. Olivia kept doubting her decision to be with David even after she had left her husband. This just added to the complexity of choosing to leave your husband for the man you cheated with. I do not condone infidelity, however, I do condone being happy. I only wish there was a less sloppy way for Olivia to have ensured her happiness. If only Olivia would not have took vows and committed to a man she truly was not in love with (Bill). Or maybe if she had pursued counseling when she realized that her marriage was failing. Or if she had tried a trial separation before jumping into things with David. If only she'd insisted that David not be involved in her and Bill's quest for a house. If only there was a less messy way to pursue your happiness without the emotional fallout. Then again I think that was the message of the trilogy - there is no nice and tidy way to fall out of love. In the end, breaking vows, emotionally/physically cheating, and coming to grips that you 'settled' for someone, leads to devastating emotional fallout and life-altering consequences. It reeked of reckless juvenile immaturity a la Dawson's Creek, but I ate up every gut-wrenching scenario.

OLIVIA. Her immaturity, or simple inability to recognize her dysfunctional marriage, left me wondering if she was truly an adult. I honestly didn't see why David pursued her so relentlessly - there wasn't anything unique about her. I was a bit annoyed with Olivia's pushover-ness. She even questions her unwavering desperate devotion to be with David - "Was there anything I wouldn't do, wouldn't give up for him?" I thought that Olivia was a lost and distraught child. She was lost before she even married Bill. And she just became incapable of controlling her own life. Olivia became a backseat passenger as her life passed her by and people made decisions for her. I wished for a stronger more relatable female lead but...c'est le vie.

DAVID. Alpha-male? Spoiled brat? Domineering and aggressive? Yes to all of the above. My only qualm with David was that he just kept pushing!! Olivia seemed to be rational, well at least in the respect of not wanting to rush their relationship or become solely dependent on him financially. But David left absolutely no room for any compromise. My feminist side was screaming in protest as Olivia caved, time after time, to David's aggressive and over-protective behavior. There were many displays of violence and total domination that concerned me.

BILL. Damn damn damn. The way the story was written it was hard to tell if Bill was the bad guy or the good guy. He could be considered the bad guy because he really didn't care to know Olivia or what troubled her. He expected her to get over her emotional issues, stemming from childhood, all by herself. He wasn't interested in her hobbies, didn't bother to have deep conversations with her, and became a workaholic instead of dealing with pressing issues at home. However, I felt extremely sympathetic for him because ultimately, he remained faithful. In spite of all his faults, he never once violated his vows of fidelity. The sheer desperation he displayed in trying to win Olivia back, albeit way too late, was heart-breaking. I do wish he had displayed more intuition and sensitivity before Olivia had met David, instead of disregarding all signs of a dysfunctional relationship.

The topic of infidelity and divorce are toughies but Hawkins wrote eloquently and each page was filled with emotion and passion. The writing was impeccable, and the drama was perfect. Makes you think twice about what you would or wouldn't do to be happy or find real love.

This is a review for the whole 3-book Cityscape Affair series

Olivia has been married to Bill for 5-years and up until she meets handsome stranger, David Dylan, she thought she was happy. Olivia never believed in soulmates, but now she’s questioning if she has one. The only problem? It isn’t her husband.

The Cityscape Affair series by Jessica Hawkins is such an addicting, forbidden romance. I love a good triangulated romance and this kept me on my toes from the very start. I devoured this series in a matter of 48-hours and enjoyed every second. I’m keeping the premise so short & vague because I think it’s best to go into it blind!

Phew...I was 95% happy with how everything worked out. Olivia has a hard line and it was a difficult one. I respect how it was handled even though I didn't like it.

I was happy with almost everyone else as well. I liked that it was more realistic and not everyone is happy about everything. And I really enjoyed how things worked out for Gretchen.

There is a bonus epilogue and unfortunately, I got my hopes up. I was really hoping that "hard line" had been soften. Oh well.

Great series. I would definitely recommend if you like a bit of angst.

SEXY. AWESOME. SMART. PASSIONATE.

When a series comes to an end, the final book can make or break the entire series.  Keeping the story strong and captivating isn't an easy task, and some authors totally miss the mark when closing it out.  But not Jessica Hawkins, she has managed to keep Olivia and David's story amazingly awesome from start to finish.  THIS IS AN AMAZING END TO AN AMAZING SERIES!

If you thought it would be smooth sailing once David and Olivia were together, you have another thing coming.  Grab your seat belt and buckle up for an emotional and fast paced ride filled with drama and pure sexiness that is sure to make your heart skip a beat (or two).

“Are we really doing this?” I asked.  “Is this going to work?”
“It is, I promise.  I promise you, Olivia, you are home.”

They have the fierce attraction, amazing sex, and finally each other.  The only thing missing now is TRUST.  David has their entire future planned out in his head.  He’s been waiting a long time for Olivia to come along.  But Olivia is scared and rightly so.  She is giving up everything she has known for the past 4 years.  It's a big step.  Is Olivia ready to let go of the past in order to move forward?

“We have to trust each other if this is going to work,” he said.  “We both have history, but that’s all it is.  History.  We’re moving forward together.”

The bigger question is: Can a relationship that started with lies survive? Going into this I definitively had my doubts.  And, Jessica Hawkins did nothing to help me push those thoughts to the back of my mind.  She plants the seeds of doubt all along the way.  The way she leaves the door open for interpretation and speculation that had my imagination running wild.

I have to say that I fell in love with David a little more (if that's even possible) with the turn of each page.  His character is one of the most in depth and well developed alpha males out there.  He’s genuine, passionate, and honest.  He doesn’t play games, and he’s willing to push Olivia to open up and accept what she deserves – true love.  But what happens when he pushes too hard?

The series is wrapped up nicely and epilogue is definitely the big red bow on top.  I am sad to see it end, but Jessica did an amazing job with David and Olivia’s story.  I can’t wait to see what total awesomeness she brings us next.

YOU MUST ADD THE CITYSCAPE SERIES TO YOUR TBR!!!!

This is for me the best romance series I've read. It has a great story, that doesn't rely on action to keep our attention. It's all about two normal people who fall in love. And it's well written.

Most series, even the ones that start really strong, lose something mid way through book two for me normally. This keeps your attention the whole way through, right through to the very last chapter. I LOVED it. I won't post any spoilers because you should just read it and you will LOVE it as much as I did.

I can't wait for what Miss Hawkins has for us next. I'm saving a reread until I go and holiday and can reread all three without interruption!

Okay, I admit. I read reviews with spoilers just to know how this book would end. And I'm right.

It's no secret that I detest Olivia. So reading about her getting an HEA? Sorry. I just can't.

And with that, I am done.

This is the first book about cheating that I didn't manage to finish. Guess I'll blame Olivia for it.

I enjoyed reading this so much. Each book had me at the edge of my seat. I loved the push and pull of the characters relationships. David’s possession over Olivia was magnetic however his vulnerability was consuming. I devoured all the 3 books in the last 2 days and now I’m sad because I’m done. It was a great distraction during this quarantine.
Take a chance and enjoy!

I was (extremely) lucky enough to be given an ARC of this book by the author. She didnt ask me for a review, but I insisted on writing one.

If you've read Jessica's first two books in this series, you know she is a master at 'build up'. Each book in this series builds up to the next book in a way that i have never seen before. as the books get hotter, you also find Olivia pushing more limits.

If you're like me and couldn't wait to find out how HOT Olivia and David would be together, this book does not disappoint. In fact, this book's 'steamy' factor is thru the roof. I don't want to give too much away since the book isn't released yet, but there is a scene in the beginning of the book that can only be described as OMG!

All the questions you have are answered in this book. Will Olivia stay with David now that she took the 'leap'? How will her friends react? Will David and Bill confront each other? What does the future hold for Olivia?

I am so happy that I stumbled across Jessica Hawkin's first book and got sucked into Olivia and David's world. I'm also upset that their story is now over. I can only hope that Jessica will continue writing!

This is the conclusion to Olivia and David's story. The themes of this book are sensitive and deals with a person's morality, happiness, and self-wealth, for this realism I really enjoyed the book. I have seen these situations in real life so I can understand every decision made by all the characters. I can also understand why some may not enjoy this series.

This specific video review will be included in the April 2018 wrap-up.

“For, you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.”

SO NOW is into the unknown... Decisions have been made. The path is taken.
-What now? Is it Gonna Work? Was It Worth It? Is It Better Now? Will they Work? Is it End-Game? Is there a HEA?-
Many more questions and everything else is answered in this book.

“I don’t give a fuck. Like I promised, I’ll always be your shield.”
He gave me a hard peck on the mouth.
“You and I are going to have fun, honeybee.”
“Tonight?”
“Tonight. This weekend. Forever.”

PROS

*I love Olivia and David since the begging and now I LOVE Olivia and David as a couple.

*Never once Bill became the bad man; yes, things got messy and shitty, but he didn't become the worst kind of person to weaken blame on the main characters. I hate it when authors paint the cheated partner as a villain to purify the leading cheater. If I were to read about a h surviving an abusive partner, I wouldn't read a cheating story.

*After the cheating part, they couldn't dive into a happy ending immediately. They had their challenges before, and I loved learning more about their coupling.

“I want to be buried deep inside you where I belong,” he said into my mouth.
...
Later, I fell asleep with him hugging me so tightly, he was almost crushing me. I didn’t ever want it any other way.

OVERALL

*This is the Love Story of Olivia Germaine and David Dylan - Finally It's only about them

*This trilogy is completely HOT, but this book has the most hotness as in amount.

*In my opinion, this book is less angsty compared to the other two.

*Lucy is the WORST kind of friend anyone can have, and I am so happy that (better later than never) Olivia is off without her! Shame on you Lucy!

*This book is about cheating and a relationship born out of it. I think It wouldn't be -oh so romantic- if they got together in real life but that's the magic of fiction and it was lovely.

*Because of the publish date, the word choices are so gender-based, I mean, man and woman stereotypes are so common in the books, but I only blame it on the year!

*It was a perfect trilogy, and I loved almost everything about it, I am only saying almost because nothing is flawless.

*Jessica Hawkins is a name I will constantly read from now on.

“Oh, David,” I whispered. “Do you know how much I love you? More than the moon, the stars, the world. You’re everything I never dared to dream.”

Audiobook Review

And here we are... At the last book in the Cityscape Affair trilogy, and I'm so happy with this one...

It was a long journey, and after more than a thousand pages, lots of tears, doubts, insecurities, wine, parties, laughs and sex, we finally have Olivia and David's happy ending.

If you're reading this review, you probably know that at the end of Come Alive, Olivia took that last step in David's direction, and jumped the cliff for him!

So this book is not only their happy ending, but also all the steps they have to climb and the real things that they have to face, before their HEA.

Her divorce process isn't pretty, her insecurities, her fears, all the judgment... Even the intensity of their love, is something that needs to be controlled.

I loved David since the first page that he showed his face. He was everything and more... Always supportive, attentive, charismatic, friendly, possessive, protector, fierce, loyal and hot AF!
Bill current stand a chance!

I loved how the Trilogy ended.
How Olivia finally overcome her fears and faced her own happiness, even after being judged and losing friends, she was being honest with her own heart.

I confess that at the end, I was expecting a change of heart about kids... But that's my heart, and not hers... And who knows?
I definitely can see David as an amazing father... Maybe another bonus scene can help me here 😂😂😂😂

The audiobook narration was by Andi Arndt and it was incredible!

I like to try and review books individually, but reviewing this trilogy hasn’t worked out this way so I will state that this review covers books 2 and 3.

Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, it is packed with chemistry and has been a great distraction this week, and as I mentioned in my last review it is available on Kindle Unlimited right now.

As is often the case when binging on a long trilogy, the story became little exhausting towards the end and because the story was stretched out, a lot of Olivia’s and David’s negative tendencies became emphasised. I also found myself skipping repetitive sex scenes. But this isn’t uncommon for me when I’m binging on a long series.

As the books went on, Olivia began to piss me off. At the start I was rooting for her and David. I understood their chemistry, understood that her marriage to Bill wasn’t ever going to be fulfilling, yet she betrayed her connection with David with her constant dithering about returning to Bill towards the end. David on the other hand, made this series. ..I would have chosen David too. As for Bill, I felt sorry for him, yet frustrated that he was so desperate he wouldn’t let Olivia go. I’ve been Bill though, so I understood him.

I also expected (hoped) for a different epilogue. I was a little disappointed with Olivia’s decision mainly due to the reasoning the author presented us with. Meh, each to their own – I guess everyone’s HEA is different. I would still read this again despite this.

*Trigger warning* I’ll say it again, just incase you haven’t surmised from the above, this one contains cheating in fact cheating is the sole premise of this book, so I wouldn’t bother if you’re unable to get past this.

I really loved this series!

It was so romantic and I felt like i learned so much from it. From marriage and just life in general.

I really enjoyed reading about Olivia and David. They were such a reasonable couple, and all the issues that came up, such as David's feelings and Olivia's doubts were so real and relatable in the real world.

Sometimes, we get sucked into the fantasy of the book world. But there are issues in the real world that just needs to be addressed realistically. :)

I really loved how the last book, gave us the most Olivia and David moments after all the buildup in the first two books. It was really nice seeing them together :)

I really loved this book and what came out of it. Realistically, you have to accept your partner's flaws and that you can't change them and their mind simply because you love each other. I loved that that they both accepted that and worked their own happy ending <3

I'm really glad I read this series, because I became invested in David and Olivia's love story and what would come out of it and Jessica Hawkins didn't disappoint.

This series managed to impress me and make me root for a relationship that might not have started in the best (and rightest) way, but that made perfect sense.

I really liked to see Olivia coming out of the shell she built around herself for years and I love that David allowed her to be herself. David is his domineering, hot self in this book, more than ever and I love him. He might be a bit too dominant and hot-headed for me (and that is coming from me), but he makes up for it every time.

In this book we get to see some characters that were mostly mentioned before, like Olivia's dad and I loved that side of the story. I also really liked Gretchen in this book and I would have liked a book or a novella about her (and I don't say that often). Friendships were also lost in this book. All of that make this book different than the others in a sense, it's like the story changed a bit like the characters did.

I think some parts of the story could have been a bit more explored, but other than that it was very satisfactory in the end.

One thing bothered me in this book, specifically and it's not very bothersome, but I couldn't help to notice it. And it's the fact Olivia started calling David the same enderments she called her ex (like "honey"). Overal, other things bothered me a bit in the story, like the fact that David slept with basically everyone and every guy in this book seemed to be into Olivia. That gets a bit old in my opinion.

But other than that I really enjoyed this book because it felt even more about David and Olivia than the others.

This was a great series and I enjoyed reading these books!

I really liked it! But the second book will always be my favourite one. Don't get me wrong, this book was good! Why just 4 stars then? I think because of the last 10% of it

Judging by the HOTNESS FACTOR of this book, it deserves far more stars than 5!!!!
*fanning myself*

Especially because of the gorgeous, swoon worthy Alpha Male David Dylan ... *sigh*

Come Together by Jessica Hawkins
4.5 Addicting Stars!
Just finished book 3 of the Cityscape series (that's the final book) I loved this series......and what I loved most is that the author stayed true to the characters in the end (that is VERY important to me) but that’s all I'll say about that because I do NOT spoil books for anyone. I was in their world for a week as I read these NON STOP straight through and I didn’t even care about all the shiny new books ...now I'm lost :( Something else that really surprised me is that FOR ME USUALLY it’s all about the chase. Once a couple gets together I sort of lose interest in any series...but that NEVER happened here. I totally enjoyed their relationship even after the chase. I enjoyed the fun and sad moments and all the hiccups in between. This author kept us intrigued the whole way through. I HIGHLY recommend this trilogy ladies.
