Bringing the police to you
Our Mobile Police Community Office will be sent out to its next location tomorrow (Friday, December 19). But where will it be? Using the clue, figure out where we will be and if you are the first to visit us, you will win a Mobile Police lego set.
The mobile police office will be in this location on Friday and Saturday from 11pm to 7am each day. So if you miss us the first day, don’t stress. You can come back the next day.
Want to know more about the Mobile Police Community Office?
The Mobile Police Community Office provides an alternative approach to policing. We will deploy this mobile police station in hotspot locations across Brisbane. These are areas that we have identified as key places for us to work with community members to reduce crime and increase community safety.
The best thing about the community office is its mobility. We will be able to move the van around to increase access to police services by people living, working and studying in high priority areas or in places where people have trouble getting to their local police station.
In a nutshell, if you can’t come to us, we can come to you!
The QPS and the University of Queensland are working in partnership to test just how effective the Mobile Police Community Office might be. We don’t want to go ahead and just implement the community office without measuring how effective it is. We are conducting a rigorous test to see how the community office might boost our capacity to reduce crime problems in hotspot areas across the North Brisbane District.
