I got some silk, made a super long T-shirt shape, and cinched it at the waist with a belt to create an effortless short sleeve maxi dress.

Click to watch.

Materials: 3 metres of breathable, movable, opaque fabric

Time: 2-3 hours

Tips: If you grow tired of cinching with a belt, feel free to sew in an elastic waistband. There are all sorts of ways to change this up, such as deepening the neckline (a drop neckline in the back perhaps?), making the skirt asymmetrical, using a really vibrant print or colour, adding a dramatic leg slit… let your imagination run free!

Wear it with: Sandals for casual days, heels for fancy days

Psalm 146:2

While sewing this long dress, I was singing out loud to some music and was full of so much joy! For as long as I live, I want to be praising and giving glory to my amazing creator, God Almighty. Honestly, nothing moves me more than God. The more I think about how gracious he has been to me, how he made it possible for me to be set right for eternal life through Jesus, all I can do is thank him over and over again. I was once hell-bound and blind to my fate, but God in his immense mercy has opened my eyes and turned me back to him. It’s so amazing, I hope you know this too!
