About Sandbox

1. Sandbox is a safe roleplaying OOC/RP channel. It acts as the OOC for #Playground too; a roleplay only channel for anyone who want’s to play. The difference is usually up to you.

RULES

1. Sandbox is really nice but to be so nice there is a price. There are rules to this place and breaking them isn’t all right.

1.1. Being nice isn’t really optional; it’s just how I like to be so if you can help it, be nice, especially to new ponies. Being welcoming is also an easy way to be nice because that’s how everyone wants to be treated right?

1.2. Try to be mindful of what you’re doing. If you aren’t sure then ask or if you can’t ask then just do not do it.

1.3. Don’t argue with anyone about being warned, arguing can’t get you out of trouble but it can make you look bad! Arguing will not get you into trouble because I’m not the polite police.

1.4. About disagreements: Feel free to disagree. If you are polite then this is not a problem for anyone, if you are upset then talk to someone in private if you can. If you need a moment to relax please take it. Do not IGNORE someone trying to talk to you about an issue because you may lose your opportunity to make your voice heard.

1.5. About Complaints/Ideas/Suggestions: Anypony can make one but if you want yours to be received, considered, and responded to then send it to me in either a memo or private message. All Complaints/Ideas/Suggestions will be taken into account. You can anonymously give a suggestion Here.

1.6. Idling isn’t against the rules and neither is lurking but this is a social place meant to be open to talking with users on this channel. With that in mind so long as you post something once in a while you are idle but lurkers are subject to harsher bias and susceptible to rumors/gossip. Make yourself known!

Role Playing

2. Role playing is what you make of it and can always be enjoyed.

2.1. If you want to play with someone just ask and if they agree to play with you then you are Golden great good to go, have fun.

2.2. When you play with someone for the first time be sure to let them know what kinds of things you like to roleplay. For example: Not everypony likes drama, romance, or adventure.

3. Roleplay Rules: Just for those who are not aware, roleplaying is a game.

3.1. Violent/Explicit/Suggestive/Grim-Dark/Mature gameplay is not allowed. Keep in mind there should be No cussing, biting, hitting, in an aggresive manner.

3.1.1. No slashing, stabbing, rending of the flesh, breaking of bone or removal of body fluid; any kind of personal injury resulting from an attack.

3.1.2. No substance abuse or representation, parody of in a direct manner easily identifiable or loosely relating to drugs.

3.1.3. No real world discrimination.(Orientation/Racial/Etc.)

3.1.4. No Killing, violent death, physical abuse of any kind or mention of the like.

● Let’s try to keep the ponies and be a little lighter than reality because you can get into big trouble for breaking this rule. If you don’t want to follow these rules go to #SandboxAfterDark channel or talk in Private Messages. Mild cursing in #Playground is not against the rules.

3.3. When you start a game with somepony, finish your scene before you leave. If the game is too long and you might have to leave soon, let the other player(s) know before hand so that you can all finish what you have started.

3.4. You and your friends decide how you want to play in #Playground or in #Sandbox but here are a few easy to remember slash common rules that a lot of roleplayers commonly follow. This passage might make figuring out what you like a little easier.

3.4.1. Don’t take multiple turns to do multiple actions: This one is a pet peeve of mine. Just, calm down okay?

3.4.2. Don’t Goddify: Doing something overly powerful like lifting a barn with your wing to trap another player then reinforcing the barn to be indestructible before that other player can even move! … yeah, whatever.

3.4.3. Don’t Roleplay another player’s character: Don’t say someone else does something without consent. This is one habit for a lot of folks. Practice not describing another Player Character’s actions. Sometimes I still do this but try to remember not to the next time.

3.4.4. Being Flutter-shy: Emphasis on the Shy part. Shy characters are okay… but it’s not an excuse to avoid improvising a way to get your characters interacting and ultimately your game moving. Get into the habit of being ‘too shy to talk’ and not much is going to happen.

Character Creation

4. To make your character press the start button. Follow the on screen instructions then press finish once you are ready to play.

4.1. Discover your role: Make your character idea first, not the appearance. Find out what you want to make/be. Find out what you think is fun to play. Once you have this ready everything else will be a little easier. Ex: I want to play an inventor that is really bad at making inventions.

4.2. Like for any other organized Pony roleplay group, character creation is very important. This is important: Please read the guidelines for character creation.

About roleplay (The RULE is for users in the #SandyCastle channel group only, doesn’t apply to the #Playground or #Sandbox channels)

5.1 If you are not on the character sheet you cannot play in the canon channel #SandyCastle.

5.2 #Playground channels are meant for canon and non-canon games in non-Castle environments.

5.3 Canon or potential canon games must follow continuity and canon. ( If there is a dispute ask a Senior player)

5.4 All participants of any roleplay must agree if a game is to become canon. ( please just have a conversation before-hand and avoid confusion )

Rules can and will be revised occasionally. I’ll let you know when I do that hopefully, but yeah I am not going to grind you into bone meal for breaking a rule but just know these rules are here for a reason and they are only here to HELP YOU.
