A$AP Yams – founder of the A$AP Mob – has passed away. Yams, born Steven Rodriguez was instrumental in the rap contributions of A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg, having propelled them into music and fashion success. No details have been offered on the cause of his death. He was 26 years old. “My role is everything that comes out from Rocky or anything we make I put stamp of approval on it,” Yams told VIBE back in 2012. “That’s from a musical standpoint to a business standpoint. I make sure everything is right.” A$AP Bari took to Twitter this morning (Jan. 18) to break the news. Soon thereafter, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg and other members of A$AP Mob took to social media to pay tribute to their fallen friend: SEE ALSO: Mob Ties: Meet A$AP Yams
