Malaysian Christopher Soyza made it back-to-back Aussie Millions $1,150 Accumulator titles on Sunday, dominating the final table on the way to winning the 2016 Aussie Millions Event #8: $1,150 No-Limit Hold'em Accumulator.

Soyza ultimately defeated a field of 656 players over three days, defending the title he won in 2015, capturing the event's $147,930 first-place prize and the LK Boutique Aussie Millions chamionship ring that comes with it.

The final table began just after 1 p.m. Sunday with Soyza holding a slim lead over former WSOP November Niner Jacob Balsiger. Senthil Kumar Subramaniam ran a weak ace into Soyza's strong one to bust tenth on the first hand and allow Soyza to create some space at the top.

He maintained the lead sending Don Mishra home ninth, but Dyan Garland snatched it away, sending last woman standing Jessica Dawley out eighth. Kevin Andriamahefa said goodbye seventh and Ronnie Bardah allowed Garland to increase his lead, when he shoved short and missed to bow out sixth.

Jason Brown cooled off Garland and moved into the lead himself, making a bigger straight than Garland's, but when Brown got it in with big slick against Soyza's queens and the pair held, Goyza took a commanding lead he would not relinquish.

Goyza then eliminated Park Yu Cheung, Brown, and Balsiger in quick succession, getting it in with the best of it every time.

He started heads-up play with Garland holding an almost 5:1 chip lead and made quick work of the Aussie to capture his second Aussie Millions title, in back-to-back Accumulator events at that.

Dylan Garland Eliminated in 2nd Place ($92,460)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Dylan Garland
Dylan Garland

Back down to less than 1 million in chips, Dylan Garland defended his big blind against a min-raise to 100,000 by Christopher Soyza. The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Garland check-raised all in for what looked like 750,000 chips. Soyza, who had bet 100,000, called quickly and they tabled the cards:

Garland: {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for middle pair
Soyza: {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for top pair

Both the {10-Clubs} turn and the {A-Hearts} river blanked and Garland was eliminated in 2nd place for A$92,460. Soyza not only won this event in 2016, but the defending champion secured a back-to-back triumph in Melbourne!

Garland Doubles Up

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Christopher Soyza won another small pot with {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for third pair and a busted straight draw to cut Dylan Garland down to only 600,000 chips. The latter then moved all in and Soyza peeked at his hole cards before making the call.

Garland: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Soyza: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Garland doubled up, Soyza simply nodded after this minor setback.

Soyza Gets It All Back

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Christopher Soyza raised the button to 100,000 and Dylan Garland bumped it to 275,000.

Soyza called and they both checked the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. Garland led for 225,000 on the {6-Hearts} turn, but could not shake Soyza. Finally, on the {3-Hearts} river, Garland bet 380,000.

Soyza called and Garland mucked. Without having to show, Soyza collected the pot and moved back into commanding position.

Straight for Garland

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Christopher Soyza continuously put pressure on his opponent and scooped a pot by defending to see a flop of {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Both players checked and Dylan Garland then called a bet of Soyza for 100,000 before the {6-Clubs} fell on the turn. Soyza fired 350,000 and that shut down all further action.

Then, Soyza raised to 100,000 and Garland called. On the flop {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Garland check-called a bet of 100,000 and did so again for 250,000 on the {9-Spades} turn. Both checked again the {6-Spades} river and Soyza showed {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, Garland flipped over the winning {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a straight.

Garland Won't Go Quietly

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

The first big pot of heads-up play was just sent Dylan Garland's way.

Christopher Soyza made it 100,000 and Garland defended. Garland checked the {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, but called when Soyza made it 100,000 again.

The turn was the {j-Clubs} and both players checked, but on the {5-Diamonds} river, Garland led for 275,000. Soyza called and mucked it when Garland turned over the {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

Jacob Balsiger Eliminated in 3rd Place ($57,160)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jacob Balsiger
Jacob Balsiger

In the new level, Jacob Balsiger three-bet shoved twice without getting called. Dylan Garland folded both times after having raised and then Balsiger open-jammed the small blind. Christopher Soyza peeked at his cards and then immediately called without even asking for a count.

Balsiger: {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Soyza: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

"Good luck guys," Balsiger said and had already grabbed his belongings. The flop {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} changed nothing much, but two more spades would give the American a flush. It was a start to see the {7-Spades} appear on the turn, however the {A-Clubs} bricked and that sent Balsiger to the rail in 3rd place for A$57,160.
