Dear Delegate,
The adage attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus states that "you cannot step on the same river twice." Doing that would mean going back at the precise moment in time. The COVID pandemic has indeed changed us in so many ways. But life goes on and so do our campus journalism workshops and contest. Perhaps what remains the same is the passion for the craft left in each and every one of us.
Waiting for an in-person contest session when things go back to the way they used to be will be a very unproductive venture for everyone. Thus, this February let's make the most out of the available technology to do what we love best--hold a national competition for campus journalists and our School Paper Advisers.
In previous Word Cup events, we have prided ourselves with the reality-based experiential learning approach outside the classrooms before the world was clobbered by the pandemic. But learning must go on and now, we are coming to terms with a technology-led learning reality.
Our schools have expanded immensely during the pandemic. Our communities have become the fruition of blended physical and virtual spaces. Like it or not, the necessity for life to continue has catapulted our way of life into the next century.
The future of campus journalism contest is here. Sign up now and be an online campus journalism champion!
Sincerely yours,
EUGENIO SONNY OCHOA CALAPIT, Ed.D., LPT, EnP.
