Summary

This book provides positive principles and practical approaches for those who care for older people. The presence of individuals in later life in our midstespecially the disabled and frail--provides a fantastic opportunity for survival learning for the rest of us. The author examines the impact of the devaluation of older people's lives in societies that have become dependent on technology. She also demonstrates how more age-inclusive societies create strong communities with an increased sense of personal happiness, resilience, and adaptability, which is necessary for our survival as a species.
