Acting President Inonge Wina has condemned in the strongest terms the acts of violence that the country has been recording.

Ms. Wina said any violence perpetrated against people who support divergent views and affiliated to different political parties is unacceptable in Zambia’s democratic dispensation.

This is according to a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by her Senior Private Secretary, Robert Kamalata.

Ms Wina said people are entitled to a difference of opinion when addressing or presenting opposing views.

She noted that there is no individual, grouping or tribe more superior to the other in the eyes of God.

Ms. Wina said the role of leaders in any position is to be of service to the people who choose them to serve them.

She said all leaders in the political, church and social groupings should preach togetherness and lead by example in refraining from perpetuating violence.
.
Ms. Wina has since called on law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and firmly against any perpetrators of violence and end the bad trend.

She urged Zambians to focus on building the nation together and educating children who will in turn continue keeping Zambia peaceful.

  1. Rightly so Madame President, violence has no place among the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise.

    One Zambia One Nation

    • It matters most to have words followed up by action. In the past politicians have pronounced violence only when it suits them.

Inonge is one person that has often condemned the acts of violence for some time. This is a song that good sensible people should sing the chorus repeatedly.

To start with, we have cadres who have been given so much powers not to respect the rule-of-law. This goes back to UNIP, MMD and now PF. Though both MMD & PF have been the biggest culprits.

Who does not remember “William TEKERE Banda” and his MMD Bandits.

Kabimba condemned violence, while behind doors he was supplying guns to the thugs/cadres. This is what I mean to say – when it suits politicians they encourage violence.

Lets kill this cancer as Inonge pronounces this act of evil.

    • thats my anuty right there!! ima waka just make sure barosteland splits away from Northern rhodesia,,, this time NO mistake, NO excuses NO buhata!!!,,,
in Barosteland there will no dual citizenship with Northern rhodesia,, too much tribalism ni buhata!!,,,but other nations yes dual citizenship will apply

    • Its all stupid rhetoric from these toothless leaders. The other day the Ka president issued the same useless statement but the PF cadres have not taken him serious at all.

PF lacks leadership. In UPND HH is in total control of all his supporters across the country. His word is followed strictly. If he was not in control ,UPND supporters would have hit back already and set Zambia alight.

Ka Lungu and Inonge wina are useless leaders who PF cadres do not take serious at all. What continues to happen despite their cheap rhetoric is clear testimony to lack of leadership in PF.

PF is led by a bunch of jokers, who think that if violence was to flare up they would still enjoy their livelihoods in government.

These PF cadres can not be tamed because they have no respect for their…

    • @Ndobo, you do realize the implications of your statement don’t you. Breaking away has many ripple effects. You have to consult all the other Lozis living outside Western Province in other parts of the country about whether they agree with this or not. They will then have to take a decision about whether to agree to seccession and become foreigners in their chosen locations outside Western Province or agree to renounce their Zambian citizenship and move to Western Province. You also need to consult all the other tribal groupings living in the Western Part of the country, whether they want to become part of BarotseLand and are willing to be ruled by the BRE. All of these issues would likely come up if a decision to go for a referendum is taken to resolve this issue once and for all.

    • @Ndobo, its important to think things through rationally and not be overly emotional about issues. Its easy to say break away but the deeper implications of this are things that you are probably not even ready to deal with.

    • **********BREAKING NEWS*************

2020vision reporting..expect some news from UPND in the next few days on the issue of whom they will be adopting for their presidential candidate for 2016…
…..they get to decide whether to continue as an undemocratic party and adopt HH again…
or to sack the chap as a good example of democracy and let someone else like Mutati take over….

    • Pf cadres are really out of control and they seem bent on creating chaos for the country. PF leadership stop talking and start acting now while the situation is solvable. The cadres causing all these confusions are know and in some cases photos are there from media houses. Start with those who carried a coffin and a dog dressed in UPND colours. That was the beginning of breakdown in law and order in front of global audience and viewers.

    • What break away chi ndobo , spell the word AUNTY correctly, this is the third time you misspell that word.
For all i know ,you only have sand ,will you survive on sand.you lazy drunks.

    • Nkombo to take over UPND because only a Tonga can lead the lost sheep.

HH is a typical African dictator, worse than Idia Amin Dada, his term has expired but clinging on like a tick on a dead dog.

    • We advoted for Inonge to be president, even before Sata died.
This is the only think I may praise Edgar for, that he accepted to work under Inonge, the woman is mother to the nation. I respect her more than Lombe Chibesakunda.

  2. Right on mama, there’s no tribe superior to the other. We are not only equal in the eyes of God but equal in the eyes of man.

    • yes no tribe is superior than the other,,, thats why barosteland has to be independent from this tribal monkey violence,,,, mabisi and ndombe i can have yes, not rat soup

    • @Ndobo????? Unbelievable… It is over my friend. Zambia has married a Nalolo queen Inonge Wina, a pure Lozi!! So cute women. Tall and elegant… most of them. How do expect Zambia to let Libongani go to Batloseland?

  3. We need to see action following our talk. Right now there is more talk than action and this is just cheap politicking.

  4. Mammy, tell them. Intolerance will take us no where. Elections are soon upon us. PF and the Opo, should coexist.

Some of us PF and UPND, come from the same family.

  5. This Mammy (to use Chanda’s term) has got armed forces at her disposal. So what’s the problem? Unleash them on the tails of those violent knuckleheads.

    • @Nyau

PF leaders are toothless. Its the PF cadres in control, not Inonge or Lungu.

If they were in control, I would I have heard of some arrests so far. But non and the stupidity still continues.

  6. Ms Inonge your advice is good but late CONSIDERING THAT VIOLENCE WAS INTRODUCED TO zAMBIAN POLITICS BY PF.If PF lost the elections panga yielding candres would have been on the streets.Remember how the PF candres attacked each other before PF chose its presidential candidate and now PF is attacking UPND.Where’s democracy if people are victimised for supporting opposition?Pls put a program of educating your canddres on democracy in place. In 2011 your candres fought MMD and now they have turned to UPND.

    • You can call him all sorts of names but he is stinky rich not like you who is an economic refugee washing plates and wiping old peoples homes.

    • @peter

Iwe Ka peter, its your leaders who are stupid and want to set Zambia

      ablaze.

HH has maneged to tame his cadres whereas PF has failed. Between the two who is a strong leader? Obviously its HH.

The day HH will authorise UPND to hit back you shall see you PF cowards hiding behind police protection.

    • It is you who is a fool and a big ***** my freind. The issue at hand is on violence by PFools and you just wake up to pick on HH?? You are very arrogant… @ peter

  7. acting on perpetrators is more effective than talking, fire libongani if police do not arrest the culprits we are tired of sweat talk

    • @Leon

Libongeni should also go together with all the police commissioners Sata appointed because they accomplices to the political violence we are witnessing across the country.

  8. Mama Inonge Wina is projecting a weak reply to an emerging situation. She should order the police to protect law abiding citizens by arresting the perpetrators on the spot. If the police do not arrest the perpetrator have them fired. You have to expect specific performance from the police. That is how you set the tone for people to execute the law and assert authority.

  10. Before leaving for Ethiopia yesterday the president specifically warned his PF cadres to stop attacks on anybody but as always the cadres chose to ignore him and were today attacking and chasing away UPND minibus drivers from bus stops.
There is no doubt PF cadres are more powerful and are in charge. Who can stop them? No one, not even their president or the PF inspector general and her toothless police.

  11. The PF violence will not be easy to stop. At the PF meetings held at Mulungushi to adopt their presidential candidate, Edgar Lungu used the same violent cadres to attack Miles Sampa’s supporters and others to ensure his adoption went unchallenged.
They continued in Lusaka to damage Sampa’s cabs and other criminal acts and as far as we aware Edga Lungu turned a blind eye, issued no statement and did not condemn his cadres as he was the mastermind. How can they listen to him today? These cadres are very unpredictable and could spill the beans and claim they have not yet been paid for the service rendered.

  12. Economic Refugees are the ones that are violent. Bemba Monkeys are scared of getting back to their forest provinces of Northern, Luapula and Muchinga provinces.

I challenge the monkeys to go back where they belong without waiting to be deported. They fear to do so because their land is unproductive and extremely poor. And as tree dwellers they will die of hunger.

    • @Twaambo Hamweemba, how many times have you heard of government rushing relief to those areas you have mentioned? So what starvation are you talking about? There is no poor province in Zambia except that some are less developed but with time…Who knew that NW Province could be the future of mining in Zambia some 30 years ago?And for your own information in case you are not been well exposed, it is shameful for a black person to call another “monkey” or tree dweller. Those are the common racist insults heaped on all blacks especially in Western countries. So grow out of your bitterness and treat your compatriots with dignity! We need each one another to move our country forward! So make peace!

    • Ba Robin, rotten milk is nice and thats why a lot of my bemba friends also like it and that is why it is found in shoprite and other places. What is so nice about violence? Let us use our heads a bit more to think shall we abena Robin?

  13. Here’s what l don’t understand : bembas formed a pf govt that employed only bembas in cabinet, parastatals, diplomatic mission, sweepers etc , fired other tribes and replaced them with bembas, and they even boasted ‘tule miteka’, and nobody labeled that as tribalism. Tongas vote for a better cabdidate who happens to be one of their own, and they are labelled tribalists?! And they even start believing that they are maybe tribalists! My conclusion : bembas are very good at labelling others who refuse to follow them. Lozis were labelled the worst tribalists in Zambia simply becoz they are the only tribe that refused to speak bemba in their homes. Now tongas are tribal becoz they didn’t vote for a bemba party. When will this insincerity end???

  14. PF as a party will remain in power indefinitely. Leadership will change but not PF. By the way in Eastern and Southern Africa only a few countries including Zambia have changed political parties from those that brought independence. Since UNIP the founding party in Zambia has been driven to the peripheral, PF is the party which will permanently stamp its authority on Zambia. No argument, its PF.
