Euclid City Council will have two fresh faces, as well as a past council member come back to serve the city, as a result of Tuesday’s election. Kristian D. Jarosz will serve as Ward 4 council member, Patrick M. Delaney will serve as Ward 6 council member, and Laura J. Gorshe will serve as Ward 8 council member. Jarosz and Gorshe will be replacing Scott Lynch and Greg Van Ho, respectfully, who did not run for re-election. Jarosz received the most votes in Ward 4 with 513 while Mary Jo Minarik received 417 votes and Kimberly Baioni received 68 votes, according to

unofficial final results from the Cuyahoga County Elections Board

. Gorshe received 438 votes over Eric Condon, receiving 297 votes in Ward 8, according to unofficial final results. This will be the first elected governmental position for both Jarosz and Gorshe. ‘I am feeling so excited to be able to serve the residents of Ward 8 and fulfill my campaign promises to them,’ Gorshe said. It was hard work, dedication, talking to residents in Ward 8 and going door to door, she said, that helped her win the Ward 8 seat. She plans to ‘lead with a passion, experience and resolve’ and she wishes to ‘take all of my notes of my Ward 8 residents and put their thoughts into action.’ In Ward 6, Delaney has been elected to serve on council, receiving 445 votes. Incumbent James J. O’Hare received 341 votes and Jerry Sustarsic, who also ran for the Ward seat, received 299 votes, according to the unofficial final results. ‘I feel great,’ Delaney said, reacting to the win. ‘I have been away from council for five years and I was grateful for all the residents who voted.’ Delaney previously served on council from 2001 to 2007 and says he is eager to serve the city once more. ‘There is a whole new landscape of issues, and I certainly want to stay true to my word and start attacking those issues right off the bat,’ he said. All even number wards, along with Council President and Ward 1 were up for the taking on Tuesday.

Incumbent Council President Kirsten Holzheimer Gail, Ward 1 incumbent Stephana C. Caviness and Ward 2 incumbent Madeline Scarniench all ran unopposed for their current positions, and will continue to serve the city in the same capacity. All positions will be four-year terms, except for the unexpired term in Ward 1, which will only be a two-year term. Starting in 2014, even number wards will earn $11,000 per year and the Council President will earn $13,000 per year. Ward 1 will earn $9,000 per year, until 2016, when all odd number wards will earn $11,000 per year.
