When I was first asked by Laurelin if I'd read this book. I'll admit. I was a little speechless. And I might of answered back with "Do bears $hit in the woods?!?!?! YES!!!!" Not one of my finer classier moments. I wish I had a more sophisticated answer than that. But, that's just how excited I was!!! And after reading it. I'm still filled with such raw emotion. This is one of those books that will stick with you, deep in your soul, for a very long time.

First Touch is highly erotic, dark and twisted. It's unlike anything Laurelin has ever written. Hell, it's unlike anything I've ever read. From the very first page, to the very last, it will have you completely sucked in and begging for more. It will strip your mind bare. It will make you feel things you never felt or probably never thought about. And I'm not just talking about your lady bits. Although, you will feel it there too. TRUST. ME. But it will take your mind on a Sex-Pose. Laurelin exposes all the things.

It's kind of hard to write this review without giving anything away. I want you, the readers, to feel what I felt. The shock and awe. That tingly sensation. And because of the mystery and suspense that is also included. I will not rob you of that. What I will say is this.

Emily. She's absolute perfection. A different type of heroine. A girl that knows what she wants. And only one man, Reeve Salis can give it to her. And ohhhh how he gives it to her. And holy hell. Reeve Salis. He's hot, sexy, demanding, possessive, controlling, and oh so dominant. All alpha male here. Hands down. My new favorite bbf. I apologize to Hudson Pierce. But hey. At least I'm keeping it in the family.

The sexcapades in this book will literally have you gasping for your next breath. It will push your boundaries. Take you out of your comfort zone. That is the beauty of Miss Paige's writing. Laurelin Paige has the power to make you feel. Make you want. Make you crave. Things that you didn't even think were ok. Until you read it. Her writing is brilliant. Risqué. Magical. There's a certain scene. One that I've only heard about. Very tabooish. And let me tell you this. Freaking HOT!!!!!! It left me speechless. And thinking, IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!! Again. I blame it on the spell that Laurelin casts over her readers. It's my only explanation.

I'll end my lovefest by saying this is Laurelin's best book yet. And that is a very hard thing for me to say. But seriously, it's a mixture of all her best things with some new added spicy ingredients. It will definitely melt your knickers right off. The only bad thing I have to say, is that reading this book so far in advance. Yes. It's May now. And out in December, is that I have to wait longer for book 2. Because THAT ENDING!!!! I literally yelled out loud WTF!!!! No lie. So Laurelin, I better not see you on social media. You need to be writing!!!!!!!

★★★★★! First Touch, book 1 of 2. 6-star hero cannot be swayed or seduced instead he turns the table & fucks her (world) mind senseless!

“Those men, my peers, they were a sea of beautiful— calm and serene. Reeve was the ocean, dark and commanding and turbulent. They moved in gentle waves. Reeve stood still and set the world crashing around him.”

Books in First and Last series should be read in order:
Book 1: First Touch
Book 2: Last Kiss

First Touch (book 1) opens up to actress and TV sitcom star Emily Wayborn aka Emily Barnes setting out to find former party friend after receiving a coded phone message. In their wild days they had shared men, sugar daddies and more. She masterminds an encounter with the man she suspects is behind her friend’s disappearance, heir and hotelier with rumored mafia ties, Reeve Sallis.

That “chance” encounter, charged with sexual tension, mixed signals, danger and hostility, sets in motion one of the best cat and mouse game of seduction I have ever read. Follow them as Emily desperately tries to entice and get close to Reeve to learn the truth while he is as slippery as an infamous playboy, too good-looking for his own good and more-money-than-Croesus with women-at-his-feet would be.

In fact, he is so jaded he can overlook his blatant hard-on to make a point and Emily has no choice but to go along for the roller-coaster ride of a lifetime while falling for him in the process. Reeve is complicated and calculated. He reads her deepest desires, understands parts of her better than she does herself… and that if nothing else makes him a dangerous man. Can she trust him…? More importantly can she trust herself?

Think of Reeve Sallis as a master manipulator with suspicion as his middle name. He gets off on controlling and toying with you. His preference is variety and he is not opposed to sharing.

His combination of uncanny good looks, kinky, devious lover and with his larger-than life, enigmatic, elusive, suspicious, commanding; intense, in-control; ruthless and unyielding personality makes him unforgettable.

“He was always rough. Always raw. He fucked me however he wanted.”

Emily Wayborn aka Emily Barnes has to work hard to hold her own against the larger-than life Reeve. What works in her favor is that she is smart, determined, callous and was blessed with good looks and big boobs.

“I can’t figure you out, Emily.” His words were tight yet even. “I don’t know if I like you or if I just want to fuck you.”

First Touch, from Emily’s POV, is a brilliantly told suspenseful unfolding unraveling of a mystery and a relentless, mixed messages, hidden agendas, calculated seduction and venture into BDSM, Story ends with a shocking, but perfect cliffy. I am considering hibernation until book 2, Last Kiss.

Refreshingly jaded, sinister and slippery Reeve Sallis! Captivating and suspenseful plot! Excellent story-telling! I am sticking Reeve on my top-10 hero shelf and I‘m itching to stick book on my 6-star shelf!

“And then sometimes, rarely, in the middle of the night, he’d be sweet. Pulling me into his lap, kissing me, caressing me. Letting me fly but anchoring me with his eyes. Speaking words he’d never dare say in the light of day.”

holy. FUCK. This book murdered me. Ripped my soul out, slashed it apart and buried it in the woods under the cover of night where I'm not sure it will ever be found - or if it is found if it will identified as the same again.

I need a cigarette. or twelve. I had to keep picking this up and putting this down and walking away and taking deep breaths because this was affecting me to a point that made me feel wildly uncomfortable and completely exposed in the way that only phenomenal writing can.

Total mindfuck.

Hmm. I am pretty sure my review of this book is going to make zero sense. So let me just get this out of the way: READ THIS BOOK.

Emily Wayborn is searching for answers. When a mysterious call is received from an old friend, she knows she’s in trouble. But finding her is proving to be much more difficult than she thought. One of the few things she knows is that her last lover was billionaire Reeve Sallis. Now getting close to the man is a whole new issue.
Seducing and catching the eye of Reeve is proving to be more challenging and a bit more dangerous than Emily ever thought. But one thing is for certain, she can’t seem to say no or walk away from the man. A battle of embracing her sexual desires, her need to find her friend and the avoidable way her body needs to submit to this man, Emily’s journey is one erotic ride of twists and turns.

This book. Gah! So flipping hot. Reeve kept me squirming in my seat as I got lost in the pages of this story. I was hooked and just could not stop myself from reading this cover to cover without stopping. I loved that Reeve was not an in your face hero. His sexuality was not being shouted from the pages, it was just there. It was part of his character – it was written into every scene. The way he held himself, the way Emily took note of him – I loved how subtle it was. I loved how Laurelin shaped these characters that nothing was forced. She brought these characters to life with her words.

Now Reeve is not the nicest of guys. But that just makes him more lovable, right ladies? The sexy times.... just toss out those panties now. They will be ruined. From the intense dominance in the way he takes her – to the way he just looks at her like he wants to pound into her until she is completely broken. I was gone. Drowning in the mess this book left in its wake. But this was not just about the erotic moments.

I loved that beyond all the dirty moments when Emily was giving into her desires, there was this mystery unfolding. I lost track of caring about her faceless friend and just wanted to be locked up with these two, but just as Emily has to remember that her original purpose was finding her friend, you aren’t able to escape that as the reader. You want to know what happened to her – is Reeve a dangerous man? Does his brutality end in the bedroom or is this man capable of the unthinkable? Does it even matter anymore?

I have so many theories about where this story will go – how it all unfolds, what happened. I am dying for everyone I know to read this, so we can swap out our thoughts and figure it out.

This is a must read. Absolute. Must. Read. Book. No questions asked. You will love Reeve. You will get lost in this story. You will want to jump into a stranger’s pool with the hopes that the man you see when you surface is a hot billionaire that is going be brutal with your body in the most pleasurable ways. Sign me the fuck up. I am ready for my fucking audition.

How do you review perfection? I should just say This book is the best book ever. Go buy it NOW.” Would that be sufficient? Because other than that, I don’t know if I have the right words. First Touch belongs on the big screen. Everything about this book – the intrigue, the darkness, the absolutely filthy sex scenes – it’s all just… so consuming. It overwhelmed each and every one of my senses in the best possible way. I can’t get enough of Reeve and Emily. And I may have cursed Laurelin at the end of First Touch. Is it June yet?

When a book not only pushes the boundaries, but completely obliterates them, it’s a thrilling thing for the reader to experience. I love Romantic Suspense books because it takes me on a ride – there’s always some sort of mystery to go along with the romance – but in First Touch the romance and the mystery are all intertwined. They support each other in such a dark way – this book wouldn’t be the same if those two things weren’t melded together. Each of the characters in this book have their own secrets, their own mysteries – and then they come together in such a way that you don’t know what’s going to happen between them. Everything about this book is so suspenseful and erotic.

And Reeve… sweet baby jesus… that man… he’s so dark, and mysterious and for the love of everything holy in all the lands, that man can fuck like no one else. I mean seriously, I can’t even begin to tell you have many quotes I have highlighted on my kindle from the book. So many dark, dirty, filthy, SO FILTHY, things. And I loved every second of him. He’s a man with secrets, with baggage and you can just feel his pain. His need for command, comes not from some childhood pain, no it comes from being an adult and fucking shit up and learning big, hard lessons. You can’t help but feel for him. And be scared of him. And excited by him. For the record, I’d let Reeve boss me around the bedroom any day of the week. Multiple times. Okay, every day of the week. 24/7? I may be slightly addicted to him.

Emily is the one who gets to enjoy his filthy behaviour! Jealousy aside, Emily is actually perfect for Reeve, because as much as Emily wants to be controlled, Reeve wants to be the one holding the reins and doing the ordering. Her darkness is something else… a need to be debased and used – why the hell is that so fucking hot to read about? Good lord, these two scorched the page when they were together. And the whole while, Emily has these horrible suspicions of Reeve. As a reader it’s a complete mindfuck to be so turned on and yet so damn afraid of a character – but that’s exactly how I felt about Reeve, seeing him through Emily’s eyes.

I found zero fault in this book. There was no plot point that didn’t quite work. There was no scene where I wondered how they got from point A to point B. The characters stayed true to themselves. The action and emotion were always 100% on point. This book is perfection. The only issue I have is that I have to wait for Last Kiss. I need that book so badly it makes me ache.

First Touch proves that Laurelin Paige is a force to be reckoned with. Her talent is special. Her characters belong on the big screen. And I’m proud to call her a friend.

I am still processing. And recovering. There was just something about this book. It is hard to describe without spoilers, and one of the main joys of this book is the suspense, the wondering, the not-knowing what happened. And, the brilliance is that, even when you don't know if you should trust either character, you still WANT to. I think that is what makes this work so well. You want to trust them, you like them.

Emily and Reeve. They are both so flawed, they both know this not only about themselves, but about one another.

The writing is engaging. The characters, well, you possibly aren't supposed to like them, but you do. You want to believe in them, and to trust them. You want them to tell you their secrets almost as much as you want them to tell one another.

The ending. The. Ending. OMG There is nothing that can be said that is not a spoiler. But this is one of those books that you finish and the FIRST thing you want to do is talk to someone else who has read it.

Go read it.

After seeing so many glowing reviews for this book from friends, I have been dying to dive into this book. Then I saw that it would be several months before the next book would be released, and I decided to hold off until I could read them together. Alas, my curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't wait that long...even knowing that the first book would end with a cliffhanger.

Now that I've read it, I can see what all the fuss is about. This book blew me away! It was everything that I crave in a romantic suspense. Intriguing characters? Check. Mystery and danger? Check. Smoking hot sex? Check. This book had it all.

The story centers on Emily, a beautiful young actress, who is trying to figure out what has happened to her best friend, Amber. The two haven't spoken for several years after a falling out over a man. However, when Amber leaves a message for Emily using their code word to ask for help, Emily feels compelled to help her estranged friend.

Despite hiring a private investigator to get to the bottom of Amber's whereabouts, Emily also decides to dig around on her own. She suspects that Amber's last known boyfriend, Reeve, might have something to do with her disappearance. Setting out to get close to Reeve, she finds herself in more danger than she bargained for.

Although this story was a little slow to get going for me, once it took off, I couldn't pull myself away from it. I was completely absorbed in this story. Just like I knew I would be, I'm going to be pulling my hair out while I wait for the next book.

Even though I kind of guessed the ending, I still wasn't prepared for it when it happened. Funny how that happens sometimes! It was still every bit as upsetting, despite the fact that I expected it. Everything was still turned upside down and my heart was ripped from my chest.

This book is definitely a new favorite of mine. I loved it! This is one of those books that I'd die to get my hands on the sequel early. The wait is going to kill me, but it was soooo worth it. You must read this book!

5 Deliciously Dominating Stars!

Holy shit. Oh my God. Jesus! First Touch BLEW. ME. AWAY. Laurelin’s writing gripped my heart, my mind, my body and my soul from start to finish. Along the way I’m pretty damn sure I felt every emotion humanly possible. AND THEN SOME! That’s how spectacular this author is!

Reeve Sallis is a fucking asshole!!! He might actually be one of the biggest assholes I’ve ever met. I’m dead serious. BUT...I love every damn inch of him! He is dangerous and intimidating. A Greek God of epic proportions. He is hotter than hell! He owned me from the moment I laid eyes on him. He is sex personified. This man had me quivering in all the right places. I was ready, willing and eager to be dominated by him. I could not help but love him, and I certainly could not get enough!

This story is intriguing. Mysterious. Devastatingly addictive. Sexier than hell. Hot. Erotic. Mesmerizing. Suspenseful. It’s beautifully written. It’s simply devastatingly perfect. The journey that I was taken on with Reeve and Emily had me feeling many things. I was consumed and utterly and completely addicted. I was agitated, yet aroused. Confused, yet turned on, infested with lust. I felt the searing heat between these two characters so completely and vividly, I felt like I was right there with them. Oh hell yes!

There were several scenes in this book that had me cringing. Trembling. I was livid. I was furious. I was annihilated! I felt intoxicated by her words. I may have also died a few times. Not gonna lie. I did. BUT, I could not stop reading. There was a scene that had me holding my breath. I was smothered by Laurelin’s powerful writing. I couldn’t believe what was happening. It was scarier than hell, but hot as fuck! I said to myself, “Oh. My. God. That was fucked! Jesus! But dammit, I loved it! More please!” I am so, SO impressed with this work of art by Laurelin! It is simply amazingly mind blowing!

Laurelin Paige has a way of evoking that dreadful feeling of foreboding, you just know something is going to happen. You can FEEL it in your BONES. Right down to the damn marrow. That is utter and complete talent and one of the many reasons why I love her writing style. Her evocative words keep you guessing from beginning to end. I died many times over. I did not want this story to end because I knew I was going to get punched in the gut at some point. I knew it. And I was right. Dammit Laurelin! How could you do this to me? That ending. Oh shit! I couldn’t believe it! Could. Not. Believe. It!!! I’ve been reeling for days. DAYS! I cannot. CANNOT wait for the conclusion to this story! Ugh!!! Brilliant. Fucking. Brilliant.

Dayum!! What a sexy, intriguing read this book turned out to be. “First Touch” has to be one of the most captivating erotic romance I have read in a while…or ever. But let me tell you, it was more than that – it was also a suspenseful read that honestly kept me at the edge of my seat from start to finish, it was deliciously sexy which I loved with just a little bit if a mystery vibe to it that I found very addictive. Needless to say I couldn’t put it down!

Emily Wayborn is not the same woman she was before – before she was Amber’s best friend. She left her old life behind, a life that almost destroyed her. Now she’s independent, she has aspirations, she wants to do something with her life. But when she finds out her former best friend may be in danger, Emily is ready to do anything to find her, to find the truth. She’s determined to find Amber so she fallows a chain of clues that lead her to Reeve Sallis.

description

“He was an incubus, calling me with a seduction song so well known to me that I didn’t have to hear it to respond.”

Reeve Sallis is a multibillionaire luxury resort owner, a bad boy, a dangerous man who gets what he wants, when he wants. Even if she already figured out what kind of man Reeve is, Emily is not afraid of him. In fact the danger excites her more than she wants to admit.

description

Oh my…what a thrilling read! I more than loved it, I devoured it! This story is told in such engaging way you will definitely be hooked from the beginning. The suspense, the questions you will have reading more and more of this story will make a very interesting, even unique read for you. That I guarantee! This was my first read by this author and I can totally say I loved her delightful writing style. It was very captivating to say the least.

I really enjoyed how the story started and how the two main characters were introduced. Both of them were flawed and well developed and I liked them both. Both of them were fascinating from the beginning which I loved.

Emily was not an easy character to like I guess. Like I mentioned above she has her own flaws, which was fine by me since I always find a flawed character more interesting that one who is ‘too perfect’. From the very beginning she is not portrayed as a weak woman and I liked that very much. I loved her determination and also her loyalty to her friend. I also felt deeply for her and for what happened with her at some point in her life.

“…the only thing worse than falling under Reeve’s spell would be me believing that he’d fallen under mine as well.”

Reeve was such an enigmatic hero. From the very beginning I was captivated by him as much as our heroine. He was bossy, dominant, possessive, but at times he was attentive, compassionate and even caring. That being said I have to say he was not exactly your usual type of billionaire. If you read this thrilling book you will know exactly what I mean.

“He caressed. He teased. He tortured.”

This is an erotic romance, so expect a good dose of steam. The hot sex scenes are hotter than hell. I swear they are! Really well written, very descriptive and intense. The electric chemistry between Emily and Reeve was really well done and so strong you could have cut it with a knife. Loved it!

“It felt so good. So right. He plunged in hard and fast. Unrelenting. Unforgiving. Everything inside was tightening, building, gathering.”

description

The story ends with a cliffhanger, cliffhanger I was afraid of. I can’t say I saw it coming, but I thought about it…what if…Well, I’m dying to read the next book. Dying...

Bloody hell, this was fucking mesmerizing. It's not for everyone, however.

If you dislike dark erotica, then, please, pass.
First Touch has aspects of rape, F/M/F menage, underage sex, oblique references to infidelity, narcissistic characters with mob connections and some situations likely to have you screaming at your kindle. Don't say I didn't warn you. You're welcome.

Should you choose to read this, you won't regret it. It's erotica with a mad dash of suspense.

And oh, ensure you have the second book at hand because this ends in a cliffy.

Holy sh!t. Reeve and Emily have made me forget about all other literary couples before them.

Since my jaw is still somewhere around my feet, I'm not sure I can even put my feelings into words, but I'm going to try. That being said, I would strongly suggest simply buying the book rather than reading this review, it is that good.
The book begins by Emily trying to find her best friend, who was last seen with the enigmatic and possibly dangerous Reeve Sallis. Will she be able to find her friend and capture the heart of Reeve, or will it all end in heartbreak.
First Touch is vividly intense, all the obstacles and backstabbing that happen in the pages will leave you breathless. The craving that Emily and Reeve feel for each other is palpable and made all the better by Laurelin Paige's flowing writing. The book is unique, fervid and erotic, and all-consuming. Ms. Paige has knocked it out of the park, and I feel sorry for the book that I will read after this, I don't think there will be any comparison.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for a copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

"do you still have that blue raincoat?"

Seems innocent enough, but for Emily Wayborn that message has an important meaning. During her formative years, Emily and her best friend, Amber, decided on one word, a safe word, a cry for help, 'blue raincoat'.Unfortunately, Emily receives the message months too late, and Amber seems to have vanished.

description

Emily has lived a 'colorful' life. Together with Amber, she spent her teens and early twenties gallivanting around the world, jumping for one rich man's bed to another. A life of indulgence, sex, drugs, money, but one event changes everything. The girls have a falling out and go their separate ways. Now, years later, Emily has found some semblance of a normal life, but when she sets out to find Amber, she finds herself missing certain aspects of her past. Crossing paths with Reeve Sallis reminds her of her submissive nature and desire for danger.

They were the men who liked to hurt. To humiliate. Manipulate. They left bruises. They left scars. They were the men that induced fear. The men who debased and defiled. They were the reason I'd left that life in the first place.

And all this was why, where Reeve Sallis was concerned, I was fucked. Because these were the men that I could never stop craving.

Reeve has been linked to Amber, and Emily is determined to get close to him and find out what he knows. He has a questionable past, and may be the one responsible for Amber's disappearance, but Emily cannot resist the pull he has on her. Emily's seduction of Reeve has her facing some dark truths about herself and where her loyalty truly lies.

I knew that I didn't have the capability of determining how much pain, how much fear was too much.

Suspenseful and seductive, First Touch, was an exciting read that left my heart pounding. I was anxiously gripping my kindle, never knowing what was around the corner. And to tell the truth, this book did make me uncomfortable. Seriously, this chick demonstrates some unhealthy behavior. That said, I felt the story was well written, and paced wonderfully. I found the characters interesting, and I am looking forward to seeing what is to come!

FIRST TOUCH Teaser Trailer

This review is 100% spoiler-free.

A few things to consider before you decide to one-click this title:

1. if you are the kind of reader who can't separate real life from fiction, this book isn't for you
2.if your views on sex are strictly black and white, this book isn't for you
3. if you can't help but judge characters' actions as you would your own, this book isn't for you
4. if you use rose-colored glasses to view relationships between two people, either leave them off for this one or this book isn't for you

Moving on ...

I don't think I've ever done this before but I actually started writing my review [for this book] as I was reading it. I mean, I would read a few chapters then pause to write things down. Things this book made me feel. Things that simply blew my mind. Like exceptional writing. And how vivid and even poetic it is, considering the kind of story author tells.

I love how the story starts, immediately following the prologue, with the plan already in action. We didn't have to sit though 'who, where, why and when' but ended up in the middle of it all right away. That doesn't mean the author skipped out on any details because there are A LOT of details/info and not for one second was I bored with any of it! Everything has a purpose. Every story. Every detail. The present. The past. Everything.

Speaking of the past, I LOVE the way Laurelin gives the backstory of Emily and Amber. To me, it felt almost nostalgic ... learning what brought them together and made them go their separate ways, eventually. Some of the darker stuff that did happen in the past felt a bit easier to take as a story told years later. Don't get me wrong, it was still hard to read but, IMO, would have been MUCH harder if we had to endure it with the characters in present time.

You can't talk about this book and not mention how sexy it is! To me, even though the sex IS present and SCORCHING, it doesn't takeover the story. The fact that the author made me pay attention to things OTHER than sex only speaks volumes, considering the fact that sex IS the reason why so much 'shit hits the fan' in this book.

There are so many players, twists and turns that it will take you days to try and unravel the tangled web of deception Ms Paige weaved so masterfully! The questions you'll be asking yourself would be 'whodunnit?' and most importantly 'WHY???'

This book is meant be read with a reading partner. It will make it so much more fun and it's always nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I haven't had this many theories go through my head since ... EVER! TeriLyn and I exchanged HUNDREDS of messages while reading 'First Touch'.

This is erotic suspense at it's finest! Absolutely BRILLIANT! This book is a tie for BOOK OF THE YEAR [for me]! That's all. FIVE GLORIOUS stars! PERFECTION from start to finish! Can't wait for the sequel!!!

P.S. This is my first book by Laurelin Paige but it certainly won't be my last. She now has another fan for life!!

...I can't get you out of my mind. You contaminate my thoughts. I keep remembering your body under my hands as I touched you. The parts of you I didn't touch. The sounds you made. The look in your eyes. You haunt me, Emily.

It's been a long time that I read a book that effected me on such a visceral level. I had honest to god tingles while reading this. My heart was beating out of my chest, my head was spinning, and I was completely and utterly incapable of putting it down for even a second. It's also been a long time that I read a hero that was so alpha he practically crackled with electric magnetism through the pages. This book hit every single one of my yes spots. It's exactly the kind of thrill I love in my romance. It was unpredictable, erotic, a little taboo, undeniably captivating and absolutely spell-binding. It's also almost impossible to review without giving anything away, so excuse my attempt at trying...

Reeve Sallis
He was infamous, famous, and if the rumors were to be believed, dangerous - a multibillionaire luxury resort owner and legendary bad boy."

He's a complete enigma. He's a billionaire playboy with an air of danger. He doesn't play cat and mouse, he simply hunts and chases...but only when he wants. Whether the woman walks away from it unaffected is never guaranteed. He's also the man that may hold the answer to all the questions that Emily Wayborn has, if only she can get close enough to gain his trust...

Emily left her life of a kept woman behind when she walked away from her best friend. She now has independence and her own career and hasn't looked back, but a call from her friend that she hasn't seen in years changes everything. She may be in danger and Emily is the only one that believes it. The man that holds the biggest piece of the puzzle is the one that was last seen with her; Reeve.
But his eyes caught me. There was something I recognized in them- a sorrow or a longing that was both gripping and haunting. I saw myself in those eyes.

First Touch is told in an almost chilling way. The writing is absolutely phenomenal. The words meant to catch the reader in their sensual allure. It's mysterious and erotic and leaves you with more questions than answers but man oh man is it fantastic.
It was a kiss that took- took my desire, took my passion, took my will. It was selfish and singularly choreographed for Reeve and Reeve alone.

The sexual aspect of the romance may take many out of their comfort zones, so if you're not a reader that's comfortable with that, this book may not be for you. It has a touch of BDSM and yet...not quite. There's no clear lines, and that may not work for some. Emily is a multi-faceted character and her desires are not quite...standard. But that's what truly works because you can see exactly what draws these characters together.

Reeve is an enigma for the entirety of the book. I was desperate for the slightest detail and was left hanging with hints and shadows. It only served to whet my appetite more.
This was our first surrender. First embrace. First kiss. First touch.

Then Laurelin hits you with the mother of all cliffhangers but I swear it just made the book all that much better. Does that even make sense? Ugh. I don't even care because it does to me. The wait for the second book just may kill me, but I don't regret it for even a second. This book was nothing that I expected and yet everything that I love. If you're looking for something spellbinding and different, this is a must read. First touch is part one in a duet.

First Touch is addictive, a drug to the senses, making putting this book down nearly impossible and downright painful. The delicious combination of anticipation, suspense and sex will leave you pleading for another dose of literary perfection.

Emily is spunky, strong willed and savvy. She knows how to hold her own and is aware of her personal demons. That makes for one hell of a heroine. Out to save her long lost best friend from unknown danger, Emily puts herself back in a position she swore she never would again. Will that empower her or endanger her? She will be able to hold on to the Emily she has created or find a better version of herself?

Reeve, oh, where does one even begin? Dangerous, Sex on legs, Adonis...Yes, that will do for a start. This man will make you weak in the knees and wet all over. But take care of your heart because he will melt that too.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and don't wait to read this book. It is beyond words amazing and will stick with you long after you read "The End." I'm not even sure I have the words to describe it's brilliance, and I am a wordy woman.

5 stars!!!

My goodness, what a delectably wicked book this was, and I loved every minute of it! It feels strange to say, but it was like this book was written specifically for me. Nothing gets my blood pumping more than a good mystery coupled with erotic BDSM, and combined with the author’s addictive, velvety writing I was completely hooked. I only wish I read this book slower to savor each word!

At first I wasn’t really sure why I loved the book so much, except that I had finished it in one sitting and in just a few hours too, something that I haven’t done since my earlier days as a bookworm. After mulling it over, however, there are two major things I took away from First Touch that this book accomplished successfully while other stories with similar themes fell short on. And they are: how well I connected (and didn’t connect and it was perfectly okay!) with the hero and heroine, and the positively incendiary sex scenes that really appealed to me.

Let’s start with the hero, Reeve Sallis. He’s a private billionaire who owns a line of luxurious resorts, but is constantly associated with shady men, giving him a dangerous allure that many women – including the heroine Emily – found attractive. I like that the author is unapologetic about the way he is, how bad he is, and doesn’t even try to mold him into that hero. You know, the kind that’s been a playboy all his life and then meets the heroine and falls head over heels for her. He’s unpredictable, domineering, and an asshole. It was hard for me to connect with him because I didn’t always love the choices he made regarding the heroine, but once again, I love that the author was so unapologetic about him. It made his connection with Emily feel more realistic and natural, and it was an absolute delight reading about his struggle and confusion when he started to grow feelings for her.

As for the heroine Emily Wayborn, I simply ADORED her. I’m positive I’m in the minority who says that, but it’s true. I found everything about this woman downright fascinating, from her sad upbringing to her wild and rocky friendship with Amber to her gold-digging adult years to the strong, independent woman she is now, I was captivated. She is the reason this book is a strong 5 star read for me and not a 4-4.5 stars (which is what I first thought to give it). This piece of information is a bit TMI, but I guess the reason for me connecting with her on such a deep level has to do with our similar sexual preferences and fears, and I’m really impressed with the way the author created her character – so many of her thoughts mirror my own.

And gah! The sex! I’ll admit a good chunk of this book is filled with sex scenes but they’re so tastefully, erotically done. Not only that, but the sex was dark, where Emily would never know what would happen to her next because of her search for Amber. That suspense made the story both chilling and exciting to read.

The book does end on a killer cliffhanger, but I’m glad I read it now anyway. One thing that did bother me a little was the first 10% of the book was hard for me to get into. It just started at an arbitrary point, but once I was hooked by the characters and the plot got interested I settled into the story just fine. Either way, it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the book.

All I have left to say is, Laurelin Paige, I really like you! This is my first book of yours I read but it definitely won’t be the last. I click with your writing. I like the way you write your billionaires, even if the one in this book is an asshole and keeps too many secrets. But also, I sort of hate you too, because WTF was that ending! If you could release book 2 sooner than next summer that’d be great :)

5 **AMBER ALERT** STARS

”You’re very tempting, Emily Wayborn. So very tempting.”

What an addicting read Lauren Paige has delivered with this sexy, thrilling story! I inhaled each and every page and I highly recommend to friends who can handle a brilliant cliffhanger ending to try this book. The ending is so clever that you will not forget this story anytime soon. I’m pretty positive that reading before next is released will work out for everyone.

description

When a secret message comes to Emily Wayborn’s mother’s phone meant for her, she instantly knows that her best friend, Amber is in big trouble. The problem is, she hasn’t been in contact with her in years and so she has to do some research to try and assist her friend. Her leads led her right to Reeve Sallis.

description

It’s been so long since I have read such a sexy, secretive and alluring hero. He’s obscenely rich and very dangerous. Emily and Amber’s relationship always involved using rich men for mutually benefiting relationships. She walked away from her best friend when things went too far years ago. Now she must find Amber and along the way her submissive side will appear with each and every interaction with Reeve.

”I’d set out to capture him and instead he’d captured me. I couldn’t fight it. It was done. And though I’d keep searching for Amber-always- she no longer mattered in my relationship with Reeve. Without her, I’d still be consumed with him, obsessed with him. Owned by him.”

description

Emily’s investigating finds things about Reeve that should scare her and some that should put some fears to rest. This story’s level of suspense is completely addicting and just when you think they have come clean about their individual secrets and a reader could bask in what Emily and Reeve have in one other...

”This was our first surrender.
First embrace.
First kiss.
First touch.”

The author proceeds to deliver one hell of an ending. This is an extremely well done story. The writing, those HOT sex scenes, and the level of suspense, all contribute to my 5 Star rating. I’m so happy to report that I’m finishing 2015 off with such a sexy, thrilling story.

This was our first surrender. First embrace. First kiss. First touch.

It all started with a message. Emily Wayborn has long turned her back from the life she used to live and has left the past where it belongs. But knowing her friend is in trouble leaves her feeling uneasy, Amber uttered the words they put in place should they ever find themselves in trouble and in need of help... blue raincoat Dropping everything to come to Amber's aid, she tracks her last known whereabouts to Reeve Sallis, a multibillionaire luxury resort owner and legendary bad boy.
Reeve was the ocean, dark and commanding and turbulent. They moved in gentle waves. Reeve stood still and set the world crashing around him.

Emily's hired a Private Detective to help, but she knows the only real way to find her is to do the job herself. The only way to gain his trust, is for her to first trust him; pushing all thought and reason aside. He is the one man who could bring out her proclivity for depravity, and accept her for who she is. He also understands her better than she does herself, leaving her with no other choice than to be consumed with him, obsessed with him. Owned by him.

"my limits are don’t damage me. Don’t destroy me.”

First Touch consumed me, taking over my thoughts; caught between the erotic scenes and the mystery that is unfolded. This story is told from Emily's point of view, which left us in the dark with the true meaning behind all of Reeve's words and actions, making us guess and anticipate. Their connection is real, it may have started with truths held close to their heart but it almost became second to their desire and need. He was as much made for her as she was for him. I can't really say more without giving anything away, but I can say I am highly awaiting the next installment. That ending was both jaw dropping and heart breaking, leaving the romantic in me hoping for the best!

“I was here because this was who I was—a strong, independent woman with distinct wants and needs that were only met when I submitted to a man.”

➦This is a mysterious, dark and sexy novel with an asshole alpha for a hero and a submissive heroine. They are both kinky to no end - he needs to be rough and in control and the only way she get off is if she is completely overpowered and degraded.

➦The premise for the novel is very intriguing: Emily's friend Amber leaves a voice mail and uses a safe word they both agreed on to indicate when either of them was in trouble. Emily then begins her search for Amber. She meets Reeve, Amber's last boyfriend, who happens to be a very rich, powerful asshole with questionable connection to Greek mafia.

➦There are a bunch of disturbing situations in this book, involving BDSM. Most of those scenes are from the heroine's past which help us understand her character better. The sex scenes between the MCs are pretty hot if kink is your thing :)

❤I thought the best thing going for this book was Reeve. He starts out as a huge douche and he stays a huge douche to the end. There are certain things indicating that he has deep feelings for the heroine but he is so mysterious that you really have no idea what he is thinking or what he is planning.

❤I read so many books where the hero starts out as a giant asshole but becomes a love sick puppy by the middle of the book. This is definitely not the case here, there is a slow progression with a change in his character and I'm certainly left wanting more of Reeve!

Emily. I have mixed feelings about her character. My first impression of her was good - she seemed to be kind of bad-ass... but once she actually started her "investigation" I quickly realized that she is super naive and the whole thing was going to be a train wreck for her. Reading this book was kind like watching her dig her own grave.

✘She snoops around but she's far from stealthy. The very first time she goes questioning Reeve's staff she wears a wig but fails to remain anonymous. After that you pretty much know that fooling Reeve takes more than a wanna-be detective in a cheap wig and sunglasses.

➦The book ends on a huge cliffhanger. There are two books in this series so I think I'll stick around for the second one :) I recommend this book to anyone who likes dark reads (BDSM) revolving around a mystery.

My review to the second book is HERE.

"You really do belong to me,don't you?"
"Yes. I really do."

First review for 2016!!What better way to start, than with a book that blew me away! I freaking loved this book!!!It had everything I wanted and even more!!I was hooked from the beginning till the end.And the ending left me speechless, desperately needing more!!First Touch is a compelling story, the mystery and the characters make it fantastic.

description

Emily wants to find her friend Amber, who has disappeared. What she doesn't expect is to develop feelings for the dangerous and mysterious man who may be responsible for her disappearance, Reeve...
But who is Reeve, really? Should she afraid him?
Can she trust him?

Reeve is something else...He is mysterious, alpha male, possessive, dark and super hot.But what makes him more interesting for me, is that sometimes I wasn't sure what to expect from him, and sometimes I was afraid him, and it was these things that made me want him more and more!!Emily is also an interesting character. She knows what she wants. The built up between these two is slow and you can feel the passion, the connection, and the intensity between them when they are together.

This is my first book from this author and I'm going to be checking out more of her books, now that I've enjoyed this one so much. I'm not sure if I survive ..waiting for the next book will be hard, because I loved this one so much... I'll probably read it again and again while I'm waiting for the next book.If you like dark books with mystery and an amazing couple that will have you intrigued and push your limits then this is definitely for you!!

description

Emily Wayborn was wild from early age living the life; a crazy wild life with her best friend Amber. They were best friends and went thru so much together. It has been five years since Emily decided to leave that life behind she learned the hard way due to her actions and her living style with Amber that she wanted something better for herself. She tried to pull Amber away from that life of drugs, man, sugar daddies and low life of submission but she couldn't take Amber; but she wouldn't leave it behind. Emily thought her life was finally looking better having a good carrier in Hollywood even if it's only a voice behind camera that no one knows the face to match it with but she was making a good living for herself until that call. A call from Amber that placed Emily right back to her old life even if she didn't want to be.

"I don't know what it is about you." His voice was strained,…"But I can't get you out of my mind. You contaminate my thoughts."

description
description

Emily hired a private investigator to help her search for Amber but every time she thought she was closed to finding her it lead her to noting. Her only clue to finding Amber was a HOT, dangerous, and powerful man; Reeve Sallis. I couldn't help liking Reeves; I kind of had a love hate relationship with him. I liked him but not so much to trust him. Emily ends up trying to seduced Reeve to find information on Amber but gets nowhere instead she ends up falling head over heels over him. Reeve was a very intense male something in Emily intrigued him and he chased her back and wanted her. They both seemed to be made for each other she was a natural submissive as he was a natural Dom and together they were explosive. The intensity of their sexuality was damn hot. I was not so sure about Reeves intentions though; so the entire book I was biting my nails so hard it was a complete roller coaster ride when you think you know something but you fucking don't know a thing. The author twisted things around and at the end lefts us just shocked and hardly having time to breathe.

"I hope you aren't too saddle sore, because I can't have you in those tight pants a second longer. I need you naked. I need your cunt out. I need to be inside you." Reeves

There was so much hot sexy steamy scenes on this book you do not want to missed; however there are some disturbing things as well that I prefer not to remember or I'll throw up. Overall, I enjoyed this story I was hooked from the beginning I couldn't helped liking both Emily and Reeve but hate both at the same time if that's even possible? Lol.. Maybe it was just some things I didn't feel conformable with and made me want to slap them both haha. If you are looking for a steamy, suspenseful, chilling book you have found it on this book. I honestly can't wait to see the conclusion of this intense read on the next book coming soon on June of this year because let me tell you this book is defiantly a page turner; once you start you will not want to put it down.

"His whispers were unheard whispers. The gasps at the back of my throat were sounds I'd never made. The way my knees buckled, how he pulled me tighter against him, the sighs between us-all new.” Emily

photo 7044362fd3c6e8b0fea31c0f41ecd9_zps7au4ihph.gif He was always rough. Always raw. He fucked me however he wanted— fucked my tits, my mouth, my cunt. He’d tell me when he wanted my ass in the future, he’d take that too. And then sometimes, rarely, in the middle of the night, he’d be sweet. Pulling me into his lap, kissing me, caressing me. Letting me fly but anchoring me with his eyes. Speaking words he’d never dare say in the light of day. Words that I’d never dare say in return. It was these times that I felt the most connected to him. It was these times that he scared me most.”

A sinfully seductive erotically charged romance that was brimming with intensity, power, control, sex, deception, and an intricate web of secrets and lies. Laurelin Paige has completely hypnotized her readers as she lures them down the proverbial rabbit hole of mind games, sex and fourberie. With her seductive and gorgeous prose, she has captured our attention as she paints a literary tale of a young heroine seeking the truth of what happened to her best friend. As Emily Wayborn is immersed in finding the truth, what secrets will she unmask? Will the truth lead her further into danger? Or into the arms of a mysterious and dominating man? Is the truth worth it? In this wicked game of cat and mouse, will Emily Wayborn discover that the first touch might be the deadliest of all?

#FirstTouch

First Touch by Laurelin Paige was simply..PERFECTION!!!!! This book had every element that I wanted, needed and craved in an erotic romantic suspense. Ms. Paige has perfectly weaved a romantic suspense that was dripping with seduction, eroticism, and duplicity. She had taken her readers on a whirlwind adventure as Emily tries to seek the truth and whereabouts of her best friend, Amber. As Emily embarks on this dangerous crusade of finding the truth, all clues leads to only one man. Reeve Sallis. The last lover of Amber.

photo 7044362fd3c6e8b0fea31c0f41ecd9_zps7au4ihph.gif Still I couldn’t catch a breath. I chased it, gasping in between each swell, never quite getting anything in my lungs before the next rush. And I wondered if I’d die like this. Die flying, soaring, rocketing to heights higher than I’d ever been. Would this be the eternity I’d be allowed to dwell in? In this overwhelming pleasure , so abundant, so consuming, so amplified that there wasn’t room for anything else. No room for fear or doubt or worry or shame or grief. Just this.”

In this seductive game, Emily makes her presence known to Reeve. She entices him and yet is spellbound by his dominant and aggressive manner. He is a man who makes Emily craves for his touch, his kisses, and the pleasure that he can only elicit. As Emily is caught up in the storm of integrating herself into his life, will she discover that this man has found a way to claim her mind, body, and soul with just his touch and presence. Can something so wrong feel so right? And the answer is yes. Unbeknownst to her, she soon finds herself slowly peeling her guarded layers to this enigma of a man. What will happen when she discovers that man she is beginning to fall for, was also in love with her best friend first? And what will happen when she discovers that this man not only demands her attention but her submission? Can she submit to this domineering man and let go?

#FirstTouch1

photo 7044362fd3c6e8b0fea31c0f41ecd9_zps7au4ihph.gif Everything now was new. A start. A beginning. The brush of his hand across my cheek, though he’d done it many times before, it was as if this time was the first. His whispers were unheard whispers. The gasps at the back of my throat were sounds I’d never made. The way my knees buckled, how he pulled me tighter against him, the sighs between us— all new. This was our first surrender. First embrace. First kiss. First touch.”

First Touch is a book that will hold you hostage. It is one of the stories that will sinfully satisfy you but at the same time leave you begging for more. It is a story that weaves layers upon layers of seduction, mystery and suspense. It is a story that will slowly unfold and leave you craving for more Reeve Sallis. His presence in each chapter held my attention and kept me hostage as he demanded to be heard, listened and obeyed. I seriously can't wait for what awaits for Reeve and Emily and how will Ms. Paige will unfold the truth. But what I do know, FIRST TOUCH was absolutely BRILLIANT. It was decadent, seductive, sinful, provocative, and consuming. A must read and one of the best books that I have read in 2015!!!

Run. That's my advice: Run.

If you're looking to have your 20/20 vision splattered with blood, spit, and semen, then take this book and have your way with it.

If not, run.

Seriously. I am compelled to throw in some repulsive and graphic gifs in my review just for good measure.

First Touch is going to haunt me at night. Maybe even you. I won't give away anything specific in my review; not a single thing. All I want to do is forget this book and I ever happened.

I wasn't prepared for how dark and sexual First Touch was going to be. It was basically a dark erotica book with mystery thrown in it, but unlike many erotica books, the writing was good, not choppy and pretentious, and it didn't read like a trashy novel. However, the plot itself . . . I was expecting something that would blow me away, but this book focused on the sex. The sexing was endless and it made me forget why I was reading in the first place. "Like wasn't there a mystery to solve? Didn't you have a friend missing?" I'm not saying the female lead didn't get answers because she did, but I wished there was less sex. And I wish they had promoted this book as a (VERY) dark erotica because if it hadn't been promoted as a "romance suspense," I wouldn't have waited months to read it (since March, to be specific), thinking I would get one hell of a good thriller.

Colored me red. I was angry, frustrated, and disgusted. Yet I couldn't bring myself to waste my time with judging the characters and instead chose to remain indifferent to their depraving ways (failing at times when I screamed from rage or shock). I've never seen characters as corrupted and un-sugarcoated as theses ones, believe me, which is something I appreciated but I didn't have to like it. Everything that was said and done in this book should have appalled me into running away, but somehow every time I found myself wanting to put it down, the desire for knowledge overpowered my good senses. I went too deep, too far. Oh, the fucking abuse and the sex and the glorification, oh my gawd, spare me now. My eyes and brains are done. I've sedated my curiosity and although the ending gave me one hell of a cliffhanger, a rather predictable one if you ask me, and I don't think I have the power to read the next book since it doesn't suit my preferences.

But then again, that cliffhanger though. Let's see if I'm still interested if I remember this series when it's closer to the publication date. I know I'll hate myself more, but I already do now after finishing First Touch, word for word, even when I wanted to claw my eyes out for the guilt. I was punishing myself and I shouldn't any longer.

5+++ "You haunt me..." Stars

PHENOMENAL. This one word perfectly captures the beauty of this exquisitely written, chilling, erotic, thrilling, and brilliant story. Reeve Sallis and Emily Wayborne shine together. Laurelin Paige completely outdid herself with gorgeous writing and a plot so intricately twisted creating a mysterious web of trust and deceit, cat and mouse. I was consumed from the first word until the very last. Yes, indeed, PHENOMENAL.

In the interest of preserving the exciting thriller that is the plot of First Touch I'm not going into explicit detail but rather highlighting some of my favorite things about this book. Firstly, the book opens with a chilling prologue. It grabs hold of your attention providing a "WTF" type moment and thus beginning the love affair you'll no doubt engage in with this story. Secondly, as the reader from the first chapter forward in the 1st person POV of the heroine you're thrust into the thick of Emily's plotting and planning. There's no dramatic planning stages, no build up - it instantly begins with this complicated web of Emily's present day. Third, juxtaposed with the present we find ourselves immersed in Emily's elicit past. The brilliance of including the past, for me, were the clues were learned about her life in relation to what she's up to present day as well learning the intricacies and depth of her love affair with her missing best friend.

Fourth, REEVE freaking SALLIS. Yep. I want a Reeve of my own. Mysterious, intriguing, passionate, arrogant, tortured, dominant - REEVE SALLIS. Trust me, his name deserves all caps. From the moment their eyes meet, which in and of itself was one my favorite moments of the book and they didn't even speak or touch, undeniable chemistry prevails. Paige's writing is so unbelievably brilliant I'm telling you I had a visceral reaction to these two, like literally felt sparks flying. From there this story takes off always providing just the perfect amount of detail to leave you breathless and hooked but never giving too much of anything away. I could read about these two for days even though I don't have slightest clue as to where they're headed. So many factors provided endless discussion of theories.

Explicit, debauched sex is a major part of this book. It's hot as all hell and done in such a classy, beautifully written way. Reeve's dominant satiates Emily's submissive nature. Based in depravity, the erotic fantasies of these two will melt your Kindle. If this kind of relationship isn't your thing, I suggest you not read. If you're intrigued by it but not certain, try this book with that understanding keeping in mind while those traits are a major part of who these characters are First Touch isn't a book about the primal sex between two people. The depth of where that sexual tension takes these two leads us to the root of their emotions in such an organic way. Pivotal developments in their characters lead you to moments of clarity about them, Paiges builds your trust while never letting on if you're correct or not. The plot so cleverly constructed leads us through a world of power, danger, and intensity. You won't know who's the cat and who's the mouse. You won't know who to trust. You won't know which way is up or where to turn because of Paige's brilliant, delectable story telling.

First Touch is EPIC! Trust me, if you like the erotic depravity of human sexual nature coupled with thrilling intrigue, strong characters, the alluring darkness and danger of life all blended beautifully together to create an expertly crafted plot - this is the book for you. For the anxiety-ridden readers stressing about rumblings of a cliffhanger, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF READING, DO NOT skip this book just because it's not a standalone. Paige knows exactly where to leave you - needy and breathless wanting MORE but in such a maniacally brilliant way. Bravo, Laurelin Paige. A favorite of the entire 2015 reading year for me. You absolutely rocked it. Yep, PHENOMENAL.

**Readers Note** This is a PERFECT book for a BR, my reading BF Irene and I had many chats throughout. We have more theories than I could even name with absolutely no clue what's truth and what 's not. It's great fun to discuss. I highly recommend reading with your best BR buddy!

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, there's nothing I can say that will do this book justice. I've thought about it for days. DAYSSSSSSS. I don't even know where to begin with this review. But I do know one thing.... YOU. HAVE. TO. READ. THIS. BOOK. It's utterly brilliant.

You know, I've always thought of Laurelin as a talented author. I mean, she gave us Hudson Pierce for goodness sake and he's a TOP book boyfriend of ALL time for me. But when I opened First Touch I realized something else, and that is: Laurelin Paige is a 'born writer' . There are some people who are just gloriously gifted with words and she is one of those people. Everything about her writing felt smooth, crisp, not overly detailed, perfectly fluid, almost sultry, with realistic dialogue, enough inner monologue, and words that pack a punch! Words so powerful, I felt them ALL!

I'm enamored by her beautiful writing, and even more impressed by her characters that felt utterly complex. To say I was riveted as I met Reeve and Emily is an understatement. I don't think I've ever wanted to read a book so fast in my life. LOL. I was engrossed.

First Touch is darker than a typical LP book. It's an erotic suspense that follows Emily Wayborn as she sets out to find her friend Amber. Emily receives a voicemail and in this message Amber uses one of their secret words, a code word that means she's in trouble. And even though Emily hasn't heard from Amber in years, even though they parted ways and have chosen NOT to be in contact, she sets out on a quest to find her.

My heart pumped like a crazy as I followed the Heroine's journey to find Amber. Emily is a character I found super fascinating. She's got demons that I don't want to go into--for fear of spoiling the novel--but I will say that I found her riveting. Her choices, the way she went after Reeve with little to no fear, and submitted to him, was gripping. And even doing that she still somehow managed to hold her own with a man like Reeve. That is a feat in and of itself.

Reeve Sallis is a dominant, arrogant, business man who can come off cruel at times. I found him absolutely mouth watering. If I had to jot down the type of man I would want, he would be it. I like an alpha male who is cold, harsh, extremely successful, powerful and dominant, but under that compelling exterior are flickers of brokenness and vulnerability. I saw that in Reeve. I saw the man who'd been hurt and because of that he was doing what he needed to do to survive.

The sex, the chemistry, between the two characters is dark, depraved, and highly erotic. It's written in a way that's I felt was tasteful but also visceral. I felt as if I was in every scene with them. Reeve is a true dominant and I felt as though Emily submitted to him with unabashed ease.

In real life, outside of the sex, Emily held her own beautifully and continued on her mission to find her friend. There were moments where she went astray but she always righted her ship. She's definitely not a weak Heroine (not in my eyes, at least). She's a woman who can strike and hold her own when she needs to. She knows when to push and when to pull back. She knows when to manipulate and when she's attacking things a little to harshly. It's unreal.

This story is a wicked web that gets better and better with every page. The twists and turns, the moments you hold your breath and hope everything works out, are explosive and intoxicating. I cannot say enough times how addictive this novel is.

I know I'm not giving you much on plot here, but this is definitely a book you want to go into blind. Take it as it comes. The ending will knock the breath out of you! I won't lie, but I urge you to forget about that and read anyway.

Everything about First Touch is perfection and I am DYING for book #2! I cannot wait to see what happens. For me, this was a top 2015 read! BEYOND words.

This sounds intriguing! — The heroine receives a voicemail from her former best friend who she hasn't spoken to in years. In that message, she uses a secret safe word they once used. And what's more chilling than the voicemail: it turns out that her friend has gone missing. Determined to find her, she follows a chain of clues that lead her to an enigmatic billionaire known for his shady dealings and play boy reputation. Now she has to seduce him to learn his secrets and track down her friend. But she finds she's drawn to him despite fearing that he may be the enemy. And she's forced to choose where her loyalty lies...

What to say?! Wow. That's one word I can think of right now. What did I just read and love?! First Touch was hot, thrilling and it was seriously messed up! But damn, it was good! And that ending!! Oh my god, that ending! I'm ready for Last Kiss RIGHT. NOW.

Reeve was the ultimate dark, broody alpha male and Emily was not your typical heroine. Combine the two and you have FIREWORKS!

It's been a LONG time since I've had heart palpitations while reading - both from how hot it was and how seriously anxious it made me! God. So good.
