Yeshiva University women's basketball coach
Nesta Felix is more than just an amazing coach for the Maccabees. The third year veteran coach was recently featured on ABC's Good Morning America due to the tireless work on behalf of her afterschool program, NewFlex Hoops.
Based in Mount Vernon, N.Y., and incorporated in 2008, NewFlex Hoops is an organization which seeks to foster positive development of youth, through mentoring, sports, and regular programming. Felix's program has helped numerous youth stay on the right path into a healthy adulthood for the past six plus years
In a segment entitled "Holiday Hero," by former NFL quarterback and 2009 NCAA Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow, Felix's program, courtesy of Wayfair, was given a makeover which included a brand new computer lab and lounge. This spring, NewFlex Hoops will also have a brand new outdoor basketball court constructed courtesy of Mother Goose Time and Carter's Kids. Another sponsor, RetailMeNot, donated $10,000 to the organization, while Ford Motors contributed a brand new Ford Flex.
