Cunningham Tabbed As ECAC Mid-Atlantic First Teamer

?POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (December 18, 2014) -- The awards continued to roll in for Vassar field hockey senior Enya Cunningham (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) Thursday afternoon, as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2014 Division III Mid-Atlantic Field Hockey All-Star teams.

Cunningham, who was the backbone of a Vassar College defense that was among Division III's most stingy defensive units, was named as an ECAC first-team defender for the first time in her career. Cunningham served as a team captain in 2014, a season that saw the Brewers tally 11 wins for the second consecutive year while setting a school record with six shutouts on the campaign.

Individually, Cunningham was named Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week three times during the 2014 slate and started all 19 games for the Brewers. The senior defender also helped out offensively, scoring five goals, dishing out five assists and tallying a pair of game-winning goals against Kean University and the University of Rochester. Cunningham was named as a Liberty League first-teamer, while also earning All-North Atlantic Region second-team honors as well. Cunningham also earned the distinction of playing in the Division III Senior All-Star game at the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships in Lexington, VA, being coached by Vassar head mentor Michael Warari.

Skidmore College junior Dani DeGregory was tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Year, while Rochester junior keeper Tara Lamberti earned Defensive Player of the Year.
