I really enjoyed Bound Souls. It's a short novella and fast read that was very enjoyable and full of emotion. I did not read the prior two books before reading Bound Souls, as the book can be read as a stand alone. However, I will state that there are several aspects of Zander and Daphne's situation that I believe having read the prior books would have provided enlightenment. This does not deter from the enjoyment of the book though, as I was able to quickly pick up on Zander and Daphne's history and paint the picture for myself. The book picks up after Daphne and Zander's one-night-stand has resulted in a pregnancy and the two of them living together. You can tell from the start that Zander, not only wanting to do right by Daphne, is quickly falling head-over-heals with this young woman. His one night stand is becoming his once in a lifetime love. Daphne, however, cannot possible believe that Zander can be falling in love with her. He's just a "nice guy" who is trying to "take care of" the mistake he's made with her. Daphne, in her depressed state, wishes she and Zander could be more, but doesn't believe he could ever love someone like her. This story definitely had some fun

This series of books has been one of my favorites from the beginning. I love every single character in them, but I think right now Zander is at the top of my list of favorites. This was another five-star worthy book from Felicia Tatum. I adore her writing style and the strength and realism her characters portray. There is a cameo from one of her other books that I thought was an awesome surprise! The descriptions of feelings of depression were spot on, the insecurities, the mood swings, and the self-loathing. I couldn’t put this down and my only ‘complaint’ is that I’m done reading it now. I want more Zander! *sigh* Now I’ll have to wait patiently for the next great read from this author.

I will admit that I am now reading this series backwards, which I don't normally do. This book just seem to good to not read. Plus I received and ARC for an honest review. However, after reading Bound Souls I have fallen in love with Zander and Daphne. Daphne keeps her heart and secrets guarded. She agreed to move in with Zander because she is pregnant. After she moves in with him she is having a hard time guarding her heart from him. However, she will do everything in her power to keep her distant even if it involves not talking to him or looking at him. As for her secret she fights her self daily on to tell him or not. Eventually she tells Zander that she has lived with depression all her life and seems to have lifted the all the weight off her shoulders. Zander is very determined to get what he wants. After having Daphne move in with him he does everything he can to make her see that he wants her for her and not just because she is pregnant with his child. While trying to get her to see this he is also trying to figure out what to do about a half-sister, Korah, that he just found. So, how much pushing away can he take before he breaks? Make sure to read Bound Souls
