I got a surprise when I was informed that the third instalment was awaiting for me to devour. After all, I was subjected to a jaw dropping cliffhanger at the end of book two! So I dropped my current read because I needed, no, I craved the next scene in this hot, suspenseful series.
Lena Bellows got the shock of her life when she discovered Preston Reid had not been quite as honest as he had led her to believe. The hot romance between these two that had developed following Lena hiring Preston as a private investigator to dig up dirt on her husband Derek, was thrown into complete doubt and confusion.

Lena finds her inner strength and runs away to stand on her own two feet, reflecting a brand new future with no man in it. First and foremost, she has only encountered betrayal and hurt from it. She finds herself in a motel in Hawaii, confined to her bed for the past four days, sleeping off the effects of vodka, and not wanting to deal with the catastrophe she has left behind. She pulls herself together, showers, and sets about looking for work to make a new life for herself as the money she has will not last forever.
Lena encounters a lady called Becky in a coffee shop. Befriending each other, both find they have a lot in common regarding making a fresh start. Becky seems to really impose herself on Lena and I had a strange feeling about her as I think Lena did, but she still felt drawn to her. A keen jogger, she runs along the beach every morning where she comes across a fellow jogger called Ryan. Even though she has a feeling of déjà vu, they become jogging buddies. Lena settles into her new life but can't help thinking the new people in her life have something to hide. Or is it just she finds it difficult to trust?

In spite of the fact that Preston has lot of explaining to do, he couldn't stay away forever. The way Lena feels was never going to be easy after all the lies involved. I began to think I wasn’t going to get my Preston Reid throughout the book. But of course he makes a reappearance. Could there possibly be a reconciliation? You need to read the series to find out; however, rest assured there is lust and hot scenes that unfold with more revelations.
Quote: Preston ~ "Sweetheart, I'm going to love you forever, no matter what. The sooner you get that through your head, the better off we'll be."
I love this series and whilst we are not left with a cliff hanger, there is to be another instalment. Now Lena knows the reasons behind the events which have occurred, the way has been paved for her to fight back. I'm looking forward to seeing where Amie takes us on Lena and Preston's journey, and I'll be happy as long as I get my Mr Sexy personified, Preston Reid fix. Fantastic character development from an enjoyable story.

Lena and Preston’s story continues in Private Getaway with Lena fleeing town with her broken heart on the first available flight. I was nervous to find out where this volume was headed and incredibly anxious to see how Lena’s character would continue to develop. Anie Michaels hit the nail on the head with this one, keeping us securely locked in on the crazy rollercoaster ride that is Lena and Preston’s story. We meet several new characters that breathe life into Lena’s new world and prove to be integral parts of her journey. They were great additions to the story, giving us another perspective on both Lena and Preston, adding to the growth of these characters.
This novella felt like it belonged to Lena and her personal journey and it was a nice reprieve from the relationships and drama that had driven the story thus far. Anie Michaels gave Lena an incredible strength in this novella that allowed her story a genuine sense of hope. I adored seeing Lena working to stand on her own two feet and I loved that her resolve never waivered, even when her heart was being pulled in new directions. Despite what she’d been through, Lena never felt jaded, allowing me to maintain my connection with her character as she continued on her journey.
Preston somehow managed to earn back some of my affection, although I will certainly be keeping a close eye on him. I’m glad this wasn’t the end of their story because I think Preston and Lena are really just getting started. Anie Michaels leaves Lena and Preston in a less frustrating place this time, allowing for some resolution, while maintaining the possibility for more twists and turns in the final novella of the Private serial. There is plenty of unresolved tension that will fuel the final chapter of their story and the build up has me anxious for the moment when things either fall together or come completely apart.

When we left off in Private Encounters a big ball was dropped and it looked like nothing would ever be right again. To say I was eager to get Private Getaway to see how this plays out for Lena and the man she thought she could trust is an understatement. As has become the par with this series, I was on the edge of my seat desperate to find out how all the pieces of this puzzle would wind together in order for Lena and Preston to get the HEA we are all rooting for.
“That’s the second time today you’ve said that today,” “What?” “That you love me.” “I’ve said it to you in my mind a million times.”
After everything that went down in Private Encounters Lena needs to get away and start over and Hawaii is as good as any place. Together with the help of a new female roommate and a male running partner she is starting to put her life back together again. But without the love she thought she had with Preston she isn’t sure where to go from here. But Preston is not giving up that easily, he is coming for her and he will use any advantage he can to get back in Lena’s good graces.
"It was a hungry kind of kiss, the kind of kiss that was vocal. I could hear him kissing me, all the growls and groans. I didn’t need to worry about breathing because, somehow, the kiss was breathing for me.”
The Private Serials are quickly becoming the kind of series that has be abandoning whatever I am reading when they show up on my kindle. Well written and full of suspense, steamy sex and characters that work their way into your brain and refuse to leave, this is one series you won’t want to miss!

I have been reading this series since the beginning, and I love where the story is heading! Once again, Anie Michaels has given us a great story! I liked the new characters that we meet in Private Getaway, as well as the characters from the previous stories.
Lena is starting her a new life after finding out that Preston wasn't what she thought he was. She finds out that Preston wasn't being truthful to her from the beginning. In order to get over him, she takes everything she can and moves away. Starting her new life, Lena doesn't know what to expect but she knows that she is happy to finally be on her own and working for a living. She still misses Preston, but she tries to push him out of her memory in order to move on.
Preston wants Lena more than anything. He knows that she knows the truth about him, but he also knows that she probably doesn't have the whole story. Preston gives Lena time to process the information she receives about him but can't stand to be away from her. So...he gives her time before he goes barging back into her life because he can't live without her. When Preston gets his chance to redeem himself, he doesn't hold back. He needs Lena back in his life and doesn't let anything get in his way.
When I first started reading this story, I thought this was the last installment for this series. I'm happy to say that I'm glad there will be more! I'm looking forward to see how things go, and I hope that Lena gets everything back that she has lost. Nothing like a good revenge!

Lena is running from all that has happened. She packs and jumps a plane to Hawaii. She needs to start over and rebuild her life. Escaping Preston and all that had been done to here. How can a man she felt so much for betray her in the worst possible way. After everything that had went down with Derrik, she has had her heart shattered.
I don't even know what to say after the ending in the last book. Poor Lena, yet you just knew Preston had to have something up his sleeve. He just wasn't going to walk away from the love of his life. I love this series. It is so hard to wait for the next book. I was so excited with Lena and Preston's relationship and after the ending in the last book it just broke my heart along with hers. I couldn't wait to find out what happened with Derrik. Looking forward to the next book.

If you're looking for a heroin who is weak and a hero who is an ass this is the book for you.
Only took less than 24 hours and Lena forgives Preston for everything he did to her. Doesn't matter what excuse he had, it doesn't justify all the lies he told her. Plus if he was on her side, why didn't he wait to sleep with her so that her husband couldn't use that against her in the divorce? Then to not even help her get the evidence against him.
As for "Becky" and "Ryan" figured that one out the minute they showed up. So obvious who they were.

These are pretty good novellas, although sometimes a little and I mean just a little far fetched. I feel that Lena may have forgave a little to easily. I also want Derrick to pay for his crime.

La trama del libro me encantó pero con este libro sentí redundancia, no atrapó como el principio. Los diálogos no tienen mucho sentido, tal vez la traducción no hace honor al libro en sí pero en medio del libro me aburrió.

I will start off by saying...Anie Michaels has done it yet once again in this absolutely AMAZING read!!! Private Getaway is book three in this wonderful series.
The title is absolutely perfect for this book. The beach, the running, the feeling of starting over and leaving it all behind. The way Anie Michaels describes the setting, I could see it!!! I could picture it all in my head as if I was there with the characters.
The story flowed very nicely and kept my interest the entire time. I could have EASILY read this all at once and not put the book down, but being a Mom I had to put it down and only for a little while.
I could feel it in my stomach that something was going to happen. I knew that Preston had deep feelings for Lena and he would have never been able to stay away from her. They are just meant to be. I knew something was for sure coming...but that was totally unexpected and totally GREAT!!
HOT, STEAMY SCENES, love, betrayal, secrets are just some of the emotions you feel through the characters as you read Private Getaway. The ending...oh WOW! Someone is in for it!!
I can not wait for the next book!!!!!! I want more!!!! Preston and Lena are off the charts! HOT couple with revenge on their minds!!! Wahoo!!! ABSOLUTELY FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!! Five stars!!

Lena is angry and heartbroken from all the betrayal around her. She needs to get away from Portland and start a new life and fast. She doesn't even know where she is going until she gets to the airport...Maui it is!
Lena is still reeling from her life in Portland. She misses her best friend and thinking about Preston. She doesn't want to think about him but she can't help it, he got to her like nobody else. But, she needs to move on from that life. She can't just sit in her hotel room, she has to find a job and a place to live.
Lena develops some unexpected friendships on her way. She has a hard time trusting people these days but they are helpful and don't ask too many questions about her past. She seems to be getting along great until boom! (Not going to tell...)
Will Lena stay on her new little island getaway? Can she really just let go of the past?
I love this series...it gets my mind going and all detective like. I can't wait for the next book!!!

Lena had to leave and had to start over. She was broken and had nothing. Why not start over somewhere beautiful? She could do it. She could make friends again and find a job. She was a fighter. Could she ever give in to the idea of Preston again? Would she be able to survive?
This book was incredible. Short, sweet, to the point. I loved how Anie wrote Lena in the beginning of the book. You understood she was heartbroken and sad but she didn’t sound incredibly dreadful. There were some shockers in the story which had my mouth dropped open for a few seconds as to the surprises Anie pulled, they were awesome! There was an incredible amount of detail and description in this book to envision the scenes as they passed but to also understand each scene with clarity.
Let’s talk about Serials for a second. I hate them, despise them, and loathe them. I’m impatient and they drive me crazy. Anie is one of two authors in which I will suffer through series and cliffhangers for. They are that good. They are definitely worth waiting for. Honestly, I will say I LOVED the ending of this book better than the others. It was definitely time.
Lena has some healing to do after finding out her life as she knew it was mostly a lie. It takes a strong person to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and move on. Not just move on but to a whole new area and leave everything that's ever mattered to you behind.
Lena ends up making a couple of friends in her new location and once she becomes strong enough emotionally she contacts her BFF Sam. Not divulging where she's living she still wants to connect with her. Their relationship is strained and Lena can tell Sam is distancing herself from Lena. Definitely a hard feeling to digest. Your best friend in the world is pulling away from her when you need her most.
I can't give you any more than this otherwise I would spoil the story for you. Just know: the ending to this part of the serial is amazing. It's about dang time and I'm anxiously awaiting to see where Anie will take Lena next!

Lena continues to survive the greatest betrayal of her life. It is impossible to imagine how she is able to keep moving after being betrayed by her husband and her lover. I would have been paralyzed until I was able to figure out what's next.
Starting a new life in Hawaii is her only option. She will still be in the United States, but as far away from Portland as she can manage at this time.
This serial novel continues to surprise with the twists and turns in the plot. Preston continues to be the book boyfriend we would all want for real. Maybe a happy future is still possible for our two main characters.
What about Derrek? I am not a vindictive woman, but let's face it, that man deserves to be caught and punished. Not only did he cheat for years, but he stole all of Lena's inheritance. How can our author let him get away with that?
Starting a new life in Hawaii is her only option. She will still be in the United States, but as far away from Portland as she can manage at this time.
This serial novel continues to surprise with the twists and turns in the plot. Preston continues to be the book boyfriend we would all want for real. Maybe a happy future is still possible for our two main characters.
What about Derrek? I am not a vindictive woman, but let's face it, that man deserves to be caught and punished. Not only did he cheat for years, but he stole all of Lena's inheritance. How can our author let him get away with that?

Thank you Anie Michaels for giving all of us what we were screaming for at the end of Private Encounters!! This is a story of survival, learning to live again, trust and finally finding love again!
While reading this book I went from crying with Lena to laughing with her as she pulls her life back together and takes her life back. I found myself rooting for her new life and the new relationships that she was forming. Then of course Anie is Anie and everything is turned upside down and I was left SO STINKING HAPPY THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN TO GO TO SLEEP! This book made me think and rethink everything I thought I wanted to happen for Lena and then gave me exactly what she was supposed to have happen in her life!

I am starting off with AAAH why can't I give more than 5 stars?!? I love this series so much! I love Lena and I want to be her friend! I was so peed off at the end of Encounters, I mean really? Why'd you go there Anie?!? But of course she redeemed herself in this book. Lena just needs to move on and just when she thinks she can her world is turned upside down AGAIN!! I was reading so dang fast, I needed her to be happy, to get over the heartache of douche bag men.I knew something was going to happen..Preston needed to come out on the other side but how the heck was he gonna do that? I am so anxious to see what happens to Derrek. Anie did a fantastic job grabbing at me in and making me feel like I was a part of the story, like I was sitting right there with Lena and her friends. I can't wait to read what happens to everyone and hope that revenge is served. LOVED THIS BOOK!!

Private Getaway is book 3 in the series and after all the hurt, betrayal and pain, Lena decides to take back her life and she gets on the first plane out of Portland to Maui, leaving her life and Preston behind. Lena finds herself a new job and a few new friends. She hasn't stopped thinking about Preston, but she's making it on her own and she finds comfort in that. Can Lena find happiness in her new life? Are her new friends what they seem? You have to read it to find out!

This is the third installment of the Private Serial. I am loving this so much. I love Anie’s way with words and the style with which she weaves the story’s world taking us on a journey with the characters.
In this piece as the title states, Lena had to getaway. She takes off leaving everything and everyone she knows behind. She needs time to come to grips with what’s happened to her and deal with the betrayals that are crushing her. She wants to figure out what her next steps should be.
Come take this trip with her. You won’t regret it. Lena makes new friends, gets a new lease on life and is on the path to a more fulfilling career. But…what about everything that’s happening back home?

I was given a copy for an honest review.
So far this has to be my favorite serial series. I am completely invested and dying for the next part. Anie's writing is amazing and to be able to pull me and hold me captive is astounding to me!!
Private Gateaway picks right up with Lena devasted and taking off. Along the way she meets some new friends and also some old friends step into help. Preston is determinded to get her back and capture her heart again. Will Lena be able to forgive?

"Private Getaway" is book #3 in Anie Michael's "Private" series (one of my new favorite series!)
Book #3 picks up where "Private Encounters" left us. As a reader, reading from Lena's POV, we find ourselves torn up emotionally. She's been through a storm of feelings, and now it's time for her to decide how she's going to move forward.
The second book had some twists and surprises, and this book has some good mystery and unexpected moments also.
I highly recommend this series. I advise you start with book #1, "Private Affairs", and read them in order <3

Another 5 star Installment in the private serials.
I was unsure where this book would take us after the OMG ending to book 2 but it was pitched perfect.
Lena was destroyed ....so she left to try and heal and for once to do something just for her....to prove she could and boy did she.
I loved everything from where she went...to the people she 'met'....to the lifestyle ,simple and straightforward but she still wasn't entirley living until she was......
So does Preston come for her?....does she find happiness alone?....does she run again?
Is everything as it seems.....
Not telling just know it was fabulous .....roll on book 4

As with the other 2 books Anie's writing keep's us wanting to flick the pages to see what happens to Lena can she re build her shattered life and start again. Finding herself in Hawaii far from her old life she starts a fresh but her mind and heart are still with the people she left behind her best friend Sam and thoughts of Preston still haunt her.
Lena however does try to move forward making new friends but are Ryan and Becky who they say they are or is her old life catching up on her. We don't have long to wait for book 4 and I'm as curious as you to see if Lena can seek her own revenge on those who have betrayed her.

After the sting in the tale at the end of book 2 I couldn't wait to dive into this book.
Lena is reeling from Preston's betrayal and hides herself away but Preston is determined that she hears his side of the story. All becomes clear but what will happen to Lena & Preston, can they finally have a happy relationship or are they doomed to fail?
Hurry with book 4 Anie, I need to know if they have a happily ever after

This review is for the entire Private Serials series...3 1/2 to 4 stars
This was a decent knight in shining armor story coming to save the princess from the evil prince. Our knight turns out to be a pretty good guy but he sure sucked at being a private investigator, or so we think. But alas a complicated plot ensues to unravel a betrayal.
I was disappointed that this story was not as tightly written as other Anie Michaels books. Many parts were too long and drawn out.

The world really is smaller than we realize
Again...just couldn't stop reading! This author is so twisted, the story is so sweet but full of some twists and turns....just evil how the author comes up with this stuff. But I love it! Now to find out about the next book!
