Pieces Of One, Part 2

Rate this book
Book TWO in a three part dark suspense/contemporary romance series. Be warned: IT HAS A CLIFFHANGER ENDING!
** Due to explicit language, violence and sexual scenes, this is recommended for a mature audience, 18+. Read with extreme CAUTION. **

¸.•*´¨) Trista (¸.•´
Within the last few weeks I’ve been stalked, almost raped, witnessed a murder, and found out I am working with the FBI. All because of that slutty tramp, Marvy. Mind you, I did have my first sexual experience with a smoking hot guy, so there’s that…but I still hate her.

´*•.¸ Marvy .¸.•*
That wimpy cry-baby blames me for everything which is total joke! If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have gone back to the club without a gun. Now I’m stuck with that jerk-off, Bryson, hiding from people that want to see me dead.

¸.•*´¨) Trista (¸.•´
I’m supposed to be getting the dirt on Bryson, but truth of the matter is, I think I’m falling for the scumbag. He did kill someone to protect me, but he’s the reason he had to. Sigh. I don’t know what to think about him. He doesn’t know about my secrets. Or maybe he does.
The only man I can trust is Alex. But he doesn’t know where I am thanks to Bryson. I love them both in ways that are completely different—kind of like my alters.

•**• Valeria •**•
Wat a friggin’ mess! Dez two are idjits!

*** AMAZING SERIES..***

This is the second book in the series and I think I actually enjoyed it more than book one, which was brilliant.

I would class this series as an erotic thriller...there's a lot going on but unlike other books with complicated plots the story flows effortlessly here...

The story picks up straight from book one where Bryson has taken Trista for her own protection...
Trista has Dissociative Idendity Disorder and in book one we are introduced to her alter...Marvy who is the complete opposite to Trista.
In this book things take on a different twist as more of her alter's come into play....all of them trying to protect her in their own way.

I wasn't sure about Bryson in book one but he completely won me over here.He is relentless in his protection of Trista and will do anything to make her happy.
Bryson has unwittingly become involved with the Croatian Mafia and this book sees him desperate to cut all links to them and at the same time keep Trista safe.

This review won't make any sense unless you've read book one but what I would say is that this story is unique...there's suspense, intrigue, steamy sex and so much more...

The Ending...

Well,I couldn't believe what I was reading...but what a brilliant way to get you to read the next book....

If you want a story away from the usual erotica I cannot recommend highly enough and I honestly can't understand why this series hasn't got more ratings.

Oh, wow!

This was a DOOZY!! So much happens to Tris that I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning. Suspenseful from beginning to end. And that cliffy??? I'll be pulling my hair out as I wait for the final part of the story.

If you haven't read the first book, click Part One and go no further.

******************************************************

So Part 2 picks up exactly where Part 1 left off. Tris is with Bryson and is working with him to solve their problems with the DEA and the Croatian mafia. She's determined to see it through in the hopes that she can get back to her family, get her life back on track and, hopefully return to Alex.

But the more time she spends with Bryson, the more she sees in him and sees that he's not what she expected. With her alters making sporadic appearances, she's learning more about herself, her past and the reason they exist.

This only leads to Tris becoming a stronger individual. She's able to learn from those personas; which ultimately get her through some seriously sticky situations.

Part 2 was jam packed with a level of steam, to keep you panting, and an air of suspense to keep you on your toes with an ending that will leave you on the edge of your seat... wanting more, in a hurry.

I'm excited for what's may be in store for Tris in Part 3 and I can't wait to know what happens next.

Overall Rating: 5 Rockin’ ★★★★★

Are you ready to delve into the many lives of Trista Dividir? Learn what makes her tick? Have your questions from Part 1 answered? Pieces of One, Part 2 by SVC Ricketts is truly an amazing five star read. Ms. Ricketts has created an unique storyline that is reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movie, The Many Faces of Eve. While at the same time it is so much more. I love the way this book flows seamlessly from the first book and also the way it ends with a totally unexpected twist. To say that this book is anything but extraordinary is an understatement! In Part 2 we learn more about the relationship Bryson and Trista share and it will enthrall, elate and break your heart!

Trista’s demons are not the usual ones. She lives with multiple alter egos that co-inhabit her body. In this second part of the Dark Life Collection, we delve into those different alters but also explore the developing love story between Trista and Bryson. The author's use of alters was eye opening and insightful into the way Trista lives and what occurred in her past to cause her psyche to split. Trista doesn’t know about all of them at the beginning of this book but as the storyline progresses she learns about them and how they support her. The way they are used to support Trista and each other is brilliant and a remarkable part of the plot.

Bryson is a protector. He is a man that loves deeply and is intensely loyal. His feelings for Trista are all inclusive and he will do anything for her, including killing those that mean her harm. Finding a way to safely get out of his mob ties to the Crotian mafia known as the KK and at the same time keep the woman he loves safe is a difficult path, but Bryson accepts it. No cost is too much, if it means she is safe!

The conclusion not only offers a huge, what in the hell moment, but it provides a transition that allows us a glimpse of where book three begins. In all honesty, I urge you to read this book. You will be stunned, amazed and left utterly speechless as the uniqueness of Ms. Ricketts' imagination unfolds page after page. Her writing style compiled with the twists and turns of the storyline makes this a one-of-a-kind-knock-your-socks-off-read!

SvC WHAT ?????

Like in any serial book it’s important to read first parts first but especially in this AMAZING series You MUST read P1 before P2.

I couldn’t put this book down, there is always something going on, it’s something completely different from any book I’ve read, it has erotica, romance, suspense, but it’s a different and amazing storyline with so many twists and turns.
I enjoyed the first one but this one is much better, there is not much I can say that won’t be a spoiler so, you HAVE to read this book to know what I’m talking about.

Of course I knew it wouldn’t end because is part 2 of a series, but THAT ending, I can’t wait to have P3 in my hands.

Holy crap! OMG! WOW!
Do you like cliffhangers? Probably not but I have to say that I love them, if the cliffhanger leaves me dying to know more then I say; that is definitely a good book. If the ending of a book is as awesome as this one then it automatically gets a 5 star rating from me. I think I have found that author that I believe is a master at endings and cliffhangers. I was like screaming when I got to the end, I could not believe how good it was and of course I will be watching to see when the last book will release.
The story got even better in book 2 if that was even possible. I loved part one and totally fell in love with the characters, all except one, I was still not sure about him (Bryson) but in this part of the story the author managed to make me love him and kind of forget a little about Alex. Don't get me wrong, I still love Alex but now I am conflicted and don't know where my heart is, I don't know which one I want for her.
There was a lot of action and not a boring part in this part of the story and also some very steamy scenes.
We got a few reveals, and I really love all the mystery.
I am dying of course and need to know more like ASAP but I will patiently wait because this is a story well worth the wait.
Definitely recommend but read part one first or you will be lost. Not a stand-alone book.

Holy Molly this is one AMAZING book you won't be able to put down if you thought book one of this series had you on edge you haven't seen nothing yet, everyone of your questions in book one will be answered and I don't know if you will be ready... Proceed with caution because Kindles might go flying and lots of screaming!! If I could curse out Svc I would have, her writing is one that is unbelievable she knows how to deliver a 5 star

Trista and Bryson story flows so nicely into ps2 there story isn't your typical love story by any means Trista has been living with multiple alter egos, she just didn't know how many? Marvy is seductive multipulator, Valeria takes no one crap she is the fighter, Star is the brain and get into anyone computer, Mercy is the little girl who holds the past. Trista learns how to take control over them in some situations.

Bryson wants to protect Trista, he loves her with all he has, he is intense, loyal, there chemistry is so hot. Bryson a smart business man and that's all he was about until he laid eyes on Trista and that's when all games changed. Bryson made a bad deal one that involves with the Crotian mafia he is trying to break his ties and breaking those ties comes with a price! but at the same time he is trying to keep Trista the women he loves more than is own life safe. There are so many twists, unexcept events that I definitely didn't see coming,

The author was not kidding when she said Part 2 was a real cliff hanger. This book was intense. I read through it without time even being cognizant of the time passing. One moment I was at like 13% of the book, the next thing I know I was at 75% of the book. It is intense! Trista, Marvy, Valeria, Star, and Mercy make one hell of a woman. Once all the personalities talk to one another to see what Trista can do is just remarkable. Drawing on all the talents that are needed to rescure herself, or try to. I was ready to cry at one point, but that quickly resolved and I was like, "HOLY SCHNIKIES!" at the end of the book. I won't tell you who wins this round, Bryson or Alexander. I will say it really is surprising what happens and when and how. Even finding out about the DEA's screw up makes it that much more interesting.

The second part for Pieces Of One is finally here!

This novel is a continuation of the first part that will guarantee to leave you with jaw-dropping and heart-stopping moments!

I’ve been waiting for this for so long! Part Two is a total game-changer! Everything you think you know about the cause of Trista’s Dissociative Identity Disorder, both Trista and Marvy’s personality, Alexander and Bryson’s backgrounds, everything will change!

I needed to know what happens to Trista after that cliffhanger at the end of part one and part two reveals so much answers to most of the questions I had! Though, there’s more questions that came up after reading it.

One. What’s going on with Trista?

Two. Who does she love?

Three. The Ending.

I often find myself confused as to what is going on in the novel. Am I inside Trista’s head? Or her memories? Or who’s the persona coming out? The biggest reason is probably the fact this is a Trista-Bryson novel. I was getting really excited to read it, because from what we know in Part One, Bryson isn’t exactly a nice guy.

Yet, he seems to have taken a liking to Trista and I was so excited to see how this relationship between Alexander, Trista and Bryson would turn out! That excitement totally deflated and went down the drain when I read the novel halfway. I hate what Bryson did to Marvy and blames everything on her when Trista finds out something.

Trista seriously needs to stop making rash decisions. I didn’t really like Marvy in part one but right now, she’s the only character I’m rooting for and I don’t like the rest!

Alexander…*sighs*

SVC Ricketts is absolutely amazing in writing the emotions of her characters but it was a tad too confusing this time. Oooh and just a warning…THERE’S A CLIFFHANGER AT THE END!

That makes me really impatient for the third and final part of Pieces of One to come out!

Recommended for mature readers and fans of the first part of the Pieces of One novel!

I was blown away by part one so I knew going in to this book I was going to get my favorite things out of this book. Some action, a kick ass story line, some funny parts, for example "His ex must have been smaller than me because my boobs are squished together so tight, I could start taking credit card purchases."

I mean really? Haha I love that about SVC's books because she is honestly the best when it comes to one liners and snarky commentary, I'll read all of her books just for moments like that. Now, let's get back to P2, it picks up exactly where P1 left off so we are just diving right in to the action! The events of this book are bigger and more intense than book one and like P1 the pacing is so fast that you are continuously flipping pages and wanting to know what happens next. We find out a few more of Trista's secrets as well as some of Bryson's and Alex's and before you know it everything is spiraling out of control. There seems to be a lot more information in P2 and the story goes deeper than we originally thought. Some class A storytelling going on here, which is not uncommon in SVC's books her characters have levels that it takes chapters upon chapters or even books upon books to get to the bottom of, but psychologically they are fascinating.

The dream where Trista gets to interact with a few of her alters is one of my absolute favorites of the book! Seeing them all in one spot as it were and their descriptions was a pretty powerful moment and also gives us some information that everything is not quite what it seems (Story of my life with this series let me tell you!)

The ending is one of the most memorable last 2 chapters I have ever read! It was exciting and thought provoking and yes even a little confusing haha there is definitely a cliffhanger to this one that is perhaps more of a shock than book one. There are some parallels to book one but the story got deeper and more exciting and the stakes were much higher. I couldn't get enough.

** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **

How does any review do justice to a novel that’s written with such uniqueness?
How does any review do justice to a novel that’s written with such complexity, but yet flows brilliantly?
How does any review do a novel justice that simply consumes you, page by page?

In all honesty…..No review will ever do Pieces Of One Part 2 justice (strictly our opinion).

You see this novel is one of the the most phenomenal reads we have ever had the privilege of reading.

It’s complex, but yet easy to follow.
It’s heartbreaking, but yet heart-warming.
It’s raw and confronting.
It’s dark and twisted.
It’s a psychologically emotional read.
It’s perfect in its execution, embracing each and every character, feeling their hurt and pain, feeling their needs and desires, feeling their fears, feeling their love.

Put simply……It’s a MUST read.

We are again taken into Trista’s world.
She needs to find as much information as she can to set herself free.
To be safe again.
To be reunited with her family.
But at what cost?
Will Trista get the freedom she needs?
Can she survive him?
Will he give her what she needs?
Or will it all be for nothing?
And what part will Trista’s alters play to uncover the truth that will could set her free?

You will have to read Pieces Of One Part 2 to find out.

Again a beautifully written read that will have you captivated from beginning to end. It will have you guessing, laughing, crying and holding you breath.

But be warned……The ending. All we will say about that is….OMFG.

Again thank you SVC Ricketts for giving us an exceptional, highly emotional read.

A HUGE 5 star read.

OMG, she's got me again. I ALWAYS have to allot time when I start S.V.C. Ricketts' books because once I start, there is no stopping and even though I knew about what to expect at the end, I still couldn't believe she did it!!! If you haven't read Part One, please do, you need to, for the content to make sense and the enjoyment of her books.

Trista, with D.I.D., has been going through hell the last few weeks because of one of her alters, Marvy. She was almost raped, stalked, found out she's working for the FBI, and witnessed a murder. Now she's stuck with Bryson. The FBI wants her to get the dirt on him but as time goes on, she realizes that her feelings for him are real. He killed to protect her but he's also the reason he had to do it. She is unsure who to trust anymore, she thought Alex was the only one she trusted. Now, she's not so sure.

Trista bounces back and forth between her identities through the book, depending on the situation that pushes her. Marvy, Valeria, Mercy, Star, she learns of them all and why they are there. Her and Bryson get closer and develop a stronger bond. Trista sees Alex and doesn't know what to do about him now.

Bryson forces her hand and pushes her in a way that is unexpected and the story takes another turn. When they travel together to try and fix things, he presents her with another question, that throws her for a loop but they work it out and things move forward. I can't wait to see what develops with them.

I LOVE where this is going and I look forward to Part 3. Thank you for an amazing journey so far, it's been a hell of a ride.

Just a heads up... the cliffhanger is not answered in the next book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
November 16, 2015
I think this is the first time I’ve read a cliffhanger book and not bee completely devastated by it.
NOTE: SVC Ricketts does tell you about the cliffy ahead of time so no, it’s not a spoiler me telling you.
I do like the fact that she told me ahead of time, I think it saves readers a lot of heartache and panic when they get to that last page. I prefer my body being prepared instead of freaking out with the way the book ends.
Aside from the cliffhanger, my initial reaction to this book was confusion. NOT BAD CONFUSION more like…my brain…and things…and waaaaahhhhtttt? There’s a lot that goes on in the sequel and it’s important to pay attention to every little detail. Ricketts leaves you hungry for more but strangely overall satisfied… If that’s even possible.

After the events of the first novel that have left Trista in a terrible state, she wakes up having taken up residence with Bryson Serivide, the man she’s supposed to be snitching on. The only thing she needs from him is information and then she’s out of there, but Bryson is determine to keep her like a canary, trapped in the fortress of a home he lives in while claiming to be protecting her. However in that short time, Trista seems to fall for him just as he’s clearly fallen for her. Everything he claims to be doing is to protect her and the only way to do that is to take her to Croatia with her. She is skeptical and wants nothing more than to go home. With the help of her alters, Trista will finally be able to be one with herself and come to terms with who she is. However, that might not be enough to save her in time.

Let me just start off by saying I think I preferred the first book over the sequel. I think that’s the problem with trilogies, the second book is sort of like body…and filler. There were a lot of parts of me that just couldn’t get into the book, especially most of the beginning. I think I preferred the alter take-over, and when I got to see more of Marvy. This book was all about Trista, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but a lot of it just seemed…hard to get into…

First off, I prefer Trista to Marvy. She’s smart, funny, playful, and has a good head on her shoulders.
I just wasn’t prepared to read about her time with Bryson, which was the majority of the book.
Their chemistry was amazing and the book was extremely descriptive but Bryson seemed too much like the knight in shining armour…even Alex did. Every guy seemed too perfect. Where was the chip on their shoulder? I mean the guy was supposed to be some big boss right? He was too much…the kind-hearted giant, (not to mention he was like twenty years her senior. Not being prejudice, but at least she was eighteen. It’s just odd to picture is all – my own parents are fourteen years apart so I can’t say anything).

As I said before, the book was extremely descriptive, and part of me believe that it took away from the value of this novel. A lot of times I sat there and said, ‘Let’s get on with it…this is just filler, I don’t need all this description’. The book really only picked up when Trista finally decided to do something about her situation. All the action came at the end and even though it was pretty bad-ass it leaves readers with a lot of questions… (well duh she did warn us about the cliffhanger).

Another thing I want to sort of point out is, WHAT’S GOING ON WITH HER FAMILY!? SERIOUSLY!? Is like no one the least bit concerned or something, about an eighteen year old being out with no contact? I mean like…isn’t there some GPS bug tracker thingy that they could like…insert into her vein or something. If I was her mom I’d be flipping out! If I was her best friend I’d be flipping out too. Shouldn’t someone be worried!? ANYONE!? Seriously FBI or CIA or whoever, get your ish together – you really shouldn’t be losing tabs on one of your agents or moles…like…I’d sue.

There was a lot I felt that was sort of lacking in this book compared to the first one.
I loved the creativity and the interaction between Marvy and Trista but I just didn’t see this happening too much. There were bits and pieces that just didn’t quite fit together. There were a lot of questions left unanswered that would hopefully be answered and a lot of wondering where the third book will go. After the cliffhanger it’s really hard to say…
I’m still looking forward to see how the rest of the story unfolds in the third book and hope it’ll be an improvement to this one.

Part 2 picks up right where the first book left off, with Bryson taking Trista for her own protection. She has multiple personalities (DID) and more and more of her alters come out within this story. Each one has her own way of protecting Trista, but they are all so very different from her. Like the first book, the push/pull between all of the different alters kept me engaged and wanting more. Where this book differs that there is more than just Marvy to deal with. She is just the beginning of what lives deep inside Trista’s mind.

As for Bryson – I wasn’t sure what to make of him in the first story, but he won me over in this one. He really has Trista’s best interests at heart and wants to protect her the best way he knows how. All I can say is Alex who?

Again, the author does such a fantastic job of pulling the reader in and keeping him/her engaged within the story. There is not a bad thing about this entire book, except for the massive cliffhanger that is warned about!! S.V. Ricketts just earned herself a lifelong fan with this book! I HIGHLY recommend anyone that loves a good suspenseful romance to start with book one and then go right into this one. You will not be disappointed!!

I loved this continuation of Trista's story. There is a lot more of Bryson included, much to my delight. I can't wait for the next installment! The identity changes from Trista/Marvy/Star/Valeria/Mercy are so unique.
