While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created.

As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college.

Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history.

Lo lives in Texas with her family and beloved Great Dane, Bosley.

Just some quick notes.

I enjoyed Ivy and Mad's relationship: fated mates growing to love and trust one another but unable to bone for reasons. Loved their fierce protectiveness of each other. I love big ultra masculine guys who go goey for their women.

But there was something slightly unengaging about this. I think being locked up in a cell with the bad guys trying to get them to bone and them holding out maybe wasn't the right kind of plot for me. There appeared to be no sense of urgency, they were both quite helpless and sitting around waiting for rescue. So that, I believe, made the book less engaging.

I still enjoyed it! But not as much as Book 2. I'm glad I read it.

You can tell this book was written by a woman. Okay, gender racism has raised it's ugly head using a self-proclaimed feminist. So I apologize but won't stop with my criticism.

These guys are dragon shifters and supposed to be super macho but they seem really touchy-feely to me. They're all worried about being gentle and slow and "calm down, take your time". I just wanted to smash them in the face. (So maybe it's just me projecting my reactions into this book.)

Not for me.

I enjoy reading about dragon shifters in general and I like the concept of the Dragon Heat series with its epic war between dragons and knights spanning over generations. WICKED DARK DRAGON expands on the intriguing mythology giving a basis for the hatred between dragons and knights. The plot of this story revolves around Mad discovering Ivy, a woman he doesn't really know has been kidnapped and his rescuing of her. Granted his big rescue mission stops once he gets himself caught and thus must sit around waiting for other dragons to come to the rescue. I was left wondering if he meant to be captured because he was taken down pretty quickly. There was really not that much action and I was left tapping my foot waiting for the other dragons to come and bust Mad and Ivy out of prison and that scene happened so fast I missed it.

The romance was the classic insta-love but this one was insta-love with a caffeine overload. They set eyes on each other and are already in love. Not merely attracted, or in lust but love and know practically nothing about each other. I get that they have the concept of destined mates but both of them seem to not even question it, even Ivy who is pretty new to the whole being a dragon thing. Much of the book involved these two talking and cuddling. I did enjoy some of the cuddling and sexy moments but I grew a little bored of it and impatient when the end of the book came near and they still haven't gotten out of prison.

WICKED DARK DRAGON was an okay, short read but left me wanting more, more from Mad and Ivy's relationship and attempts at escape, more action, and just more pages.

Loved then hated it.
The Good
So I haven't read the first two books and I am 50-50 on whether I needed to or not. I understood what was going on but I can tell I missed a lot. I just couldn't turn down a dragon book.

I really liked the beginning. I love books that start out with prisoners and torture. I know, I'm weird, but it really sets the mood. Ivy and Mad were enjoyable, strong characters for the most part. I really liked them together. I also enjoyed the action and dragon politics.
The Bad
I didn't realize the books in this series are short. About 130 pages. I felt gypped because the story didn't feel complete at all. You really have to read the whole series to get a full story, that's my guess anyway.

Ivy and Mad spent more than half the book in prison, waiting to get rescued. Really? Come on!

The worst part was the forced sex. This is spoilery! While in prison, the bad people give Mad and Ivy a lust drug that painfully makes them want to have sex. The baddies wanted to force the couple's mating on them. It was an uncomfortable scene but hey, they are bad guys, of course they are going to do bad things. When Ivy and Mad are saved by their dragon friends, guess what their dragon friends do? The exact same thing! They trick them into taking an even more powerful sex drug that makes them vulnerable when the bad guys attack. WTF? The book could have been saved if the dragons who betrayed them were extremely punished. But no, they get a slap on the wrist, those naughty dragons. DIS-GUS-TING. I guess dragon rape date drug is just not for me.
The Snuggly
Well, considering most of their sex scenes were forced on them because of a drug, I can say I didn't enjoy the snuggly. I actually skipped most of it because I felt uncomfortable.
Final Thoughts
Some things are just not alright with me, and the good guys giving the main couple a date-rape like drug is not funny, romantic, or okay in any way. I was actually going to stop reading and DNF the book but there was literally 5 more pages to read and I thought I might as well finish it. Not recommended.

Quotes
"Checkmate."

"What? Again?" He sat back and studied the board. How had he missed that? "Damn. You've whipped my ass every match today."

"I'm starting to think you like getting spanked by a girl."

He smiled at her teasing remark. Even here in their awful predicament, she found a way to be silly and make him laugh. "Sorry, sweetheart, that's not really my thing. Now if the roles were reversed?"

Ivy Morales has always suspected she was a bit different than everyone else. She dreams of faraway places—dreams of battles and blood feuds from ancient times. But lately, her dreams have become erotic. Darkly erotic, where Ivy feels an intimate connection with the man she “sleeps” with every night.

On Spring Break in Mexico, Ivy is kidnapped. When her survival instincts kick in, will Ivy be able to reach out to the man in her dreams for him to answer her call for help?

Ian “Mad” Madoc is struggling. Struggling to understand the meaning behind the erotic dreams he’s been having lately. What do they mean? Is someone really infiltrating his mind and needing his help?

Working on a hunch, Mad leaves suddenly to search for the woman who may desperately need his help. Desperate to find her, Mad believes she may be his true mate. But when he does rescue her from the Knights, is she in more danger in his care? Facing an unprecedented betrayal, will Mad put aside his pledge to protect the dragon species if it means keeping Ivy safe from harm?

Another quick and dirty read! I have really enjoyed this series. Wicked Dark Dragon seems to be a bit better developed than the others in the series. I loved Mad and Ivy. And damn, I didn’t see the betrayal coming—made for a really interesting twist.

Wicked Dark Dragon is book 3 in the Dragon Heat series. ~ Missy, 5 stars

Oh my gosh! Wicked Dark Dragon is so wickedly HOT!!! It's just all the possessive-mating-taking-claiming talk that is so sexy and shiver worthy. Of course, it's not all just about that though, there is danger, fighting, and some sweetness too. I loved it all; this was such a great book!

I immediately wanted to read Wicked Dark Dragon because I love dragon shifters! They are one of my favorite types of shifters because they're all gruff and dominant with the grr-she's-my-mate deal that just has me swooning every time! And let me tell you, Ian "Mad" Madoc was no different!! I totally fell for him! He was all of those things, but even more than that, he was so sweet and thoughtful and devoted. I just positively loved him!

Ivy was a wonderful heroine too! She was so strong and smart and brave! She was really just a total bada*s, but I loved how she was with Mad. She was possessive of him as much as he was of her, but she was sweet too, and she had no problem surrendering to him.

Wicked Dark Dragon is a fast, easy read that's full of action, some sadness, really sweet, tender moments, and whole lot of HEAT! If you love dragon shifters and you want a really fast, steamy, but still meaningful book--it won't disappoint!

Wicked Dark Dragon is a standalone, it's told from both Ivy and Mad's POV, and they do get a HEA ending. And I can't wait to read the next book because there's still a battle these dragons have to fight and it's going to be awesome! ~ Paige, 4 stars

Book Review- Wicked Dark Dragon by Lolita Lopez

Ivy Morales is being held captive in Mexico. She was kidnapped while she was on a trip for Spring break. She has to be strong as this creepy woman dressed in a black robe tries to invade her mind looking for information. She is giving up hope of being found when she is confronted with by a shadowy man. He comes to her in a dream world and takes her to the man who will save her.
Ian Maddoc is a member of the Brotherhood. His job is to protect his fellow dragons from the knights and humans. He can smell the mystery woman that appears to him but he can’t see her. He has a strong feeling she is his mate. Ivy can connect with Mad in this strange dream world trying to get his help. She needs to be rescued as her strength wanes.
Ian finally gets her message of where she is. He is determined to save his mate. The only way to protect her when he arrives in Mexico is to get captured himself and wait to be rescued by his brothers, whom he left information for. However something must have gone wrong. Mad and Ivy are trapped in the prison at the mercy of the seer and the knights. They are trying to force the bonding. Mad refuses to give in. He wants it to be up to Ivy when she is ready. Once they escape the true battle begins.
I like the Dragon Heat series. Dragon shifters fascinate me and are one of my favorites. I love the power they have and the fierceness the author gives them. The storyline for this series is compelling. The dragons are trying to save their species and bond with their mates. In this book Mad comes across his mate and saves her. Sigh! She is special and needs protecting. He fights his nature and his enemies to protect her. Double Sigh!
It was interesting to read how they found each other and what they had to endure. Ivy is a strong likable character. Mad is an elder but fair and sensitive to Ivy’s needs and peace of mind. Triple Sigh!! Great pairing by the author. I give it a 4 out of 5.

3.75 stars--WICKED DARK DRAGON is the third novella in Lolita Lopez’s contemporary, adult Dragon Heat paranormal romance series focusing on the few remaining dragon shifters in the world. This is Welsh dragon shifter Madoc and university student Ivy Morales’s storyline. WICKED DARK DRAGON can be read as a stand alone but there is a bit of background information required to understand the ongoing war with the Knights (more is revealed in the current story), and the future storylines will continue upon the same path. The novella picks up immediately after events of Red Hot Dragon-book 2.

The focus of the novella finds Ivy imprisoned by the Knights. The Knights are an ancient group, humans, who have sworn to destroy and kill every last dragon. Their ongoing war with the dragons finds the current group of Knights going against the rules of combat and entering into territory where they do not belong.

Ivy knows she isn’t quite ‘normal’; she has dreamt about dragons since the age of six; and she has the ability to match make and see the future. It is Ivy’s true heritage and DNA that the Knights will use against the dragons and their mates.

The relationship between Ivy and Madoc is one of immediate attraction; they are mates but the mating heat has yet to touch Ivy as she is not fully dragon. Enter Mad’s friends and fellow dragons who betray our couple sending them into a frenzy not of their own making. It is the ‘dragon mating heat’ that will draw out the Knights, and in this, the dragons have placed everyone in danger with their underhanded actions and dishonesty towards one of their own. To understand the intent does not necessitate the approval of their actions. Mad and Ivy are likeable characters; there is definite heat and intense attraction.

The secondary characters include all of the dragons previously introduced throughout the series. Griffin and Avani ( book 2) are still experiencing the call to mate; and the revelation of someone long thought dead, adds a twist to the Knights’s attempts to bring Ivy back alive.

The world building is a little more detailed and developed in book three. There isn’t always room for vast amounts of back history, elements or components in short stories, but WICKED DARK DRAGON reveals more information than the previous two storylines, in this, the reader begins to better understand the who, what and why.

Lolita Lopez continues to build upon a history between human and dragons; the ongoing war with the Knights; and the dragon’s need to mate. With only a few remaining dragons in existence, time is running out to ensure a future for their own kind. There are moments of betrayal and revenge; romance and love; and in the end, the storyline ends on a bit of a cliffhanger.

WICKED DARK DRAGON is an entertaining storyline; a paranormal romance where another dragon finds his mate; where betrayal comes at the hands of someone you know. Lolita Lopez invites you into her world of dragon shifters. Here’s looking forward to many more stories.

Blogged on Swept Away Again

First line: "Cold and hungry, Ivy Morales blinked away the tears clouding her vision."

Wicked Dark Dragon is the third book in the Dragon Heat series and it's been a while since we had a book in this series. I'm a big fan of Lolita Lopez aka Roxie Riveria and I've followed along with all the things that's been going on in her life and understand and sympathise will everything and why it's taken a while for her to give us more.

I liked Wicked Dark Dragon, as we've been tempted by this one for a while I wasn't sure if it was going to meet it's mark once it finally came out but happily it fits with the rest of the series.

The main plot continues on from the previous two books but it doesn't feel tired or over done. Although I hope the ongoing plot shifts or changes really soon because I get a bit bored of the same theme running through the first five books if it continues to be the same bad guy. But considering the Dragon Heat series are more novella in length it might not be too bad!

I really liked Ivy and Mad together or apart they're good characters but together I think they're great! There's a lot of spunk to Ivy and I liked that even though she might not have been physically strong she was mentally. Mad was a really lovely character much more softer than I was expecting! He tried to be a gentleman towards Ivy a lot because she was so much younger and because of the circumstances of their situation Mad never wanted or made her feel pressured.

{mini spoiler ahead!}

So I liked the book, the plot was good, I enjoyed the character's, so why didn't it get 4 stars? Well, there's a scene with 'other' secondary characters, characters that haven't had their HEA yet and they meddled between Mad and Ivy and I just didn't like it at all.
Basically Mad and Ivy get drugged by Mad's friends and Ivy's relative and it really annoyed me. The drug is bascially going to make them really horny so they mate as Mad was giving Ivy time to get used to things and instead other characters meddle but it turns out ok because Ivy really loves Mad and she wants to mate with him anyway. But it still really annoyed me. Especially when there was no real retaliation to those characters, or that one in particular who meddled. Plus it annoyed me how it was all 'it was for the good of the cause' and 'it was for Ivy's safety' nope didn't do it for me!

Other than that I did enjoy Wicked Dark Dragon and look forward to more books in this series!

In her latest installment of Dragon Heat Series, author Lolita Lopez plunges us back into the battle between the Dragons and the Knights.. That St. George wasn't such a good guy after all..

Ivy Morales is the product of a real life Romeo and Juliet.. ok, his name wasn't Romeo and hers wasn't Juliet and they didn't commit suicide, they wanted to live.. BUT they were on opposite sides of an ancient war and Juliet's birth was destined to change things. The Knights have discovered that she lives and they want control of her. They want her "dragon memories" and they want her Seer Powers but Ivy isn't even aware that dragons exist, let alone that she is one.

Ian Madoc has served the dragons faithfully for centuries. He was even there at Ivy's birth and the death of her parents but once she was given to a human family for adoption Mad went about his business. So he was rather surprised when a voice wandered into his dreams calling him to help and astonished when he realized just who she was and more than that, what she was, his mate.

Captured by the Knights and on the brink of falling Ivy has called Mad to her, she needs help and mad dragon that he is.. he goes off to help her on his own, causing his own capture. For over two weeks these two survive capture together and feel the mating bond grow. Trying to figure out where his back up is and just what the knights want.

This was extremely well done. Mad and Ivy have this connection, almost a destiny but there is no forced feel to it. The twists and turns that are discovered in their cage was wonderfully done. While much of the book takes place while they are in captivity you don't feel like these two have fallen for each other because they only had each other. Nope, you find yourself cheering for them, encouraging them and yes swooning a bit when Mad does his best to be a gentleman. Hello, he's a dragon...

I also enjoyed the way the Knights come off.. They are evil, not all humans are portrayed as evil but the Knights? Oh yeah. It gives an entire new interpretation of those chivalrous knights of yore.. And makes you think. And I do like a book that makes you think.

I firmly think Ms. Lopez is going to be around for a very long time! And I will be happy to see her.

I received a ARC copy in exchange for a honest review, thanks to Netgalley and Forever Books

Wicked Dark Dragon is the third installment in this dragon shifter series. I have been watching this author ever since the first book of this series came out a little while back. And I have been itching to try her out, so when I was given the opportunity to try this out from Netgalley, I was more than thrilled. Now if you are looking for a short and sexy read, love dragon shifters, then this book and others in this series, is the perfect diversion for a lazy afternoon. The story sets off with Ivy being captured, who had no idea that she was nothing more than human with some special matchmaking gifts. Now she is being held captive by a dying seer, who wants to destroy her and destroy the Brotherhood that Mad is a part of. Ivy knows that Mad is her mate and calls out to him to save her, and soon they both learn that the Seer has more plans for them than just keeping them prisoner. What I really enjoyed about this story was how short and sweet it was. I have a weakness for dragon shifters, and this story was such a fun interlude for my day. I just breezed right through this story, and I really enjoyed the author’s writing style. It was very engaging and quick-witted, and the humor is playful. I definitely got some giggles in this one. It is shorter, and I will admit one of my problems with this story was how I never felt a full connection between the characters. There are good remnants of it, but with it being just a little over 100 pages, I felt like it needed a bit more. But having said that, I truly enjoyed the setting and the introduction into the brotherhood, I definitely plan on reading more from this author. Overall a tantalizing shifter romance that kept me engaged from beginning to end. A love story of passion, danger, and mystery. A QUIRKY GEM!!

I'm a relative new comer to this authors work and have only read a couple of her Grabbed stories which are more sci fi based so when I spotted this book I had to read it. I'm a huge paranormal junkie and then of course there's big brutish Dragons! I say it again Dragons! Yes this for me was a must read.
First I have to say it's the third in a series( now I have more to add to my never ending tbr pile!) but I found that it works very well as a standalone and I had absolutely no trouble whatsoever in understanding this world Ms Lopez has created. I really felt the connection between these two characters and it didn't feel forced or particularly rushed in any way. Yes for most of this story Ivy and Mad are in an almost impossible situation but for this reader that's probably what made it work. I felt it enabled the story and their growing relationship to be fleshed out and boy is this Dragon willing to go to any lengths to protect Ivy. Is she his true Mate? Circumstances point to it but there's a nice twist with their history that adds a little mystery and suspense. I do adore Dragon shifter stories but did feel a little let down by the actions taken by the other members of the Brotherhood but no spoilers here. No let down is too mild I thought they overstepped the mark!
So in hindsight a longer story than I expected which is good! Uber protective hero and a vulnerable but intelligent heroine who is prepared to bite the proverbial bullet! Yes it's a very sexy story but it's the characters that held me gripped. If you want a steamy Dragon story then try this series I don't think you will regret it!

I really enjoyed this story and it was right on par with the other two. Strong smart women and sexy capable men. The story was fast paced and extremely enjoyable. I am looking very forward to the next in the series. However now that we are three books in its time for a full novel. Because these novellas do such a good job of telling the leads stories its not until you finish them that you realize all that is missing. Like, the bad guys are still way to mysterious to the reader. We never see their point of view, they just be appear, do evil stuff, then die. This is the third book and we still don’t know what their true motivation is or how in the 21st century they can recruit fighters. They have to be justifying their actions somehow and I want to know what it is. I also want to know how they operate. Are they like the military, is it everyman for themselves, do they have a hierarchy? The Dragons and the Knights have been at war for centuries, so a lot of these things shouldn’t be a mystery to the Dragons. But even if they are, as a reader I want to at least get a glimpse of the other side. Also updates on past characters are important, and more interaction with those whose stories haven’t been told is needed too. Part of the fun of reading the series is picking your favorite and eagerly anticipating their story. However we barely see the other Dragon’s. Like the bad guys they come in an fight when needed then just fly off. It would be nice to really get to know them too.

2.5 stars

I didn't realize this was a novella until I got to the end and went, "Where's the second half?"

It started out as pretty decent self-indulgent PNR, which is what I was in the mood for, but dragon-guy's friends made a couple decisions that were presented as "Doing the wrong thing for the right reasons" but actually made no damn sense. They were last resort tactics that were implemented as a first resort, before things like, you know, using your words. /vaguereviewing

By the end of the story I was too annoyed to be able to give this one more than 2.5 stars. The annoyances might have been outweighed by other things if the story had been novel-length, but...oh well.

Abducted and held prisoner in a Mexican prison by a creepy lady trying to probe her mind, Ivy tries to come to terms with not being all human.
All her differences explaines when she connects with a man in her dreams, a man who´s also a Dragon..
Ian doesn´t know what to think when a girl is connecting with him, but he needs to save her. Jumping head first into danger, they both need to stay alive long enough for reinforcements to find them..
PNR romance, smutty fluff, action and Dragons in a great combo.

It's been on my TBR forever LOL

I really like Ivy and Mad, they fit so well together, I like how she's strong enough to go through what happened to her and how Mad supported her. Didn't like how her own clan leader and the leader drugged them to go through the mating heat.

will get to the next book soon after my current tbr,

4-4.5 stars

This was a really good story. I liked Mad and Ivy and their story was very good and kept me well engaged through the end.

Ivy is a college student from Texas. She's always known she was different but never knew why. She was adopted and had a good childhood and loving parents but when they died she found things changing even more. When Ivy and a friend go to Mexico for spring break, she gets abducted by some very bad people that know she's different.

Ian Madoc (aka Mad) is a dragon shifter and part of a brotherhood that protects dragon kind. They primarily protect dragons from humans that have formed an organization of "knights" that kill any dragon they can find.

Ivy is captive in a deserted prison in Mexico by the knights. They have a Seer that tries probing Ivy's mind and get info from her. Sometime during her captivy, Ivy gets directed to Mad's mind and she recougnizes him as someone like her. Ivy is a natural at mind powers so while she's not able to contact him the first night, she goes back to visit him in dreams, trying to get a message to him. When she eventually succeeds, Mad realizes she might be his mate and he goes after her. He leaves instructions for the other dragons to come and help him but it'll be a while before they get there. Mad ends up letting himself get taken captive in an effort to protect Ivy. While in captivity, Mad and Ivy get to know each other very well and know they're mates. Mad doesn't want to finish their mating in the prison and there ends up being very good reasons for that. They have to go through some major drama (both expected and unexpected) but after it all, Ivy and Mad do get their HEA together.

This was a really enjoyable story. I liked both Mad and Ivy. Mad was a good hero...very sweet, protective and supportive. Ivy was a great heroine...very brave and smart. Even after being held captve for quite a while she refused to let the knights intrude into her mind and she protected Mad when it was needed. The story was very good. There were a few points when the knight's actions didn't make much sense to me but things got cleared up in the end and it worked well for me. I'd recommend this story. :D

I'm always happy whenever Lopez continues to write books in The Dragon Heat series and Wicked Dark Dragon is of no exception. The first book will always be my favorite but this book was very good and related well in comparison.

Ian as the hero really shinned in this book. Alpha, sexy and willingly to risk his own life to save Ivy, the woman he loves made this book immensely enjoyable for me. However I do think the plot was a little rushed in this book. Personally I would have liked to seen the story evolve in a slower pace as I had a trouble keeping up between all the action and in the actual story.

As for Ivy I didn't like her as well as I did Ian. I liked her character but I thought she would be stronger and therefore able to stand on her own two feet. Aside from this Ivy balanced Ian well enough to the point that both their chemistry and their romance was realistic and I think this is vastly important in paranormal romances that deal with shapeshifters.

Since Lopez was the first author to introduce to the idea of dragon shapeshifters in the modern world of romance I think I have a special place for as a reader. Her stories are always compelling with enriched plots and the romance is always unforgettable. With this in mind as a reader I couldn't ask for a better series than what Lopez has delivered so far.

Ivy had been adopted a few weeks after she had been born. Ivy felt she was different from other people. She dreamed of faraway places. Ivy had also dreamt of dragons since she was six years old. Then Ivy goes to Mexico for Spring Break and gets kidnapped. Lately Ian/Mad is having erotic dreams of an unknown woman. Then he wonders if someone really needs his help and leaves to find her as Mad believes she is his true mate. Mad rescues Ivy from the Knights. Mad is a dragon shifter. The Knights want control of Ivy as she has seer powers. Ivy does realize she is a dragon or that they even exists. Mad had been at Ivy’s birth but after her adoption by humans he continues with his life. A dying seer is holding Ivy captive trying to probe her mind but wants Ivy destroyed. The Brotherhood Of dragons which Mad belongs too. Mad has to get caught to save Ivy and then wait for his brother dragons to rescue them.
This was another story where you don’t hate it but you also don't love it either. Although at times it did make me laugh. It was short like a novella so it didn’t take long to read. Mad’s fellow dragons did Mad dirty and I didn’t like that but I kinda understood it but still didn’t like it. I like the characters of Mad and Ivy but felt they fell in love way too quick even for a short story. If it’s lust call it lust and not love. But I did enjoy some of the twists and turns in the story.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick and sizzling installment in the Dragon Heat series that gives us the story of Ivy and Ian ("Mad"). These two have a bit of a Romeo and Juliet tale going on, with some distinctly dragon/knight twists.

Ivy was adopted when she was a baby, taken away from the dragon world that she should have been raised in so that she could have a "normal" life. She, however, was anything but normal. There's visions, powers, and a kidnapping keeping her from living her "normal" life. She's been trapped while on spring break and has been trying to use her powers to reach out to Mad. He's been feeling exhausted but cannot get this spunky woman out of his dreams. These two don't realize the repercussions of their relationship (no matter how fated).

Ivy's the daughter of two warring races and has the ability to bring down either one. Rather than wait for her to choose a side, both sides are forcing the choice on these two. There is a lot of betrayal, but there is also a lot of sizzling chemistry. This short read delivered another hot installment in this series that has me hooked.

Thoughts: This is third installment of this series, but it is easily read as a stand alone – which is a good thing since I have not read the previous two books in this series. I can honestly say that I wish I had though, since I found this to one of the best dragon shifter books that I have ever read – if not the best one. I love shifters of all kinds, but the dragon ones (at least the ones in which the dragons feature as the core shifter group of the series) I usually find vaguely disappointing – or at least, I had up until this point. That was not the case with this book! The way Ivy chose to grab Ian’s attention in their dreams (thereby also marking him and providing clues along the way) also managed to grab my attention as well – I loved the author’s style of writing. Needless to say, I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author!

Frankly, this book was captivating – and I imagine a few books down the line, this one will stick out in my mind. It was interesting and original, and I look forward to reading more from this series and from this author.

Sometimes you just feel like reading steamy hot sexy story. Well, Lolita Lopez does the job every single time! I really love the way she writes. I wish to be half as good as she is when I finally get around to finish my book!

Anyway, the story of Ian & Ivy (I & I lol) is a shapeshipfter dragon story that entangle in the grand schemes of the fight between the human Knights and the dragons.

Ivy is kidnapped in Mexico during a vacation because of her powers. She reaches out to Ian through his dreams to come and rescue her.

What Ivy does not know is that she has a dormant dragon inside her that only Ian can unleash.

What Ian doesn’t know is that one look, one touch – and his a goner – his mate has finally come to be.

Lovers in prison by the Knights, their passion for each other reveals to be dangerous. So dangerous that they are imprisoned again by their own species, only so that they consummate their mating in order to have Ivy transform to dragon to be used as a strong and powerful weapon against the Knights.

Don’t worry, happy ending? Read and find out!

What is sexier than a red dragon hell bent on protecting you? NOTHING!

I am familiar with this series and when I saw that this next book in the Dragon Heat was released I was on it. I loved the idea that Ivy could send her consciousness out and "find" the one person who could save her. Thank goodness her savior was hot as Hell.

Sexy time. I was glad that Ivy didn't have to solely rely on Ian to save her. She was strong in her own right. Kudos to the author for making sure we all understood that Ivy was STRONG without Ian.

If you're familiar with the previous books in the series you got to see Griffin, Ignatius, Stig, etc. This satisfied my curiosity about the missing half-blood, BUT it also created a new yearning to read Niko and Ignatius' stories. :sighs:

Wicked Dark Dragon by Lolita Lopez is the third installment of her Dragon Heat series, but it can be a stand alone read.

Compared to the first two in the series, Wicked Dark Dragon was longer in length and for me, I felt this story was more fleshed out compared to Red Hot Dragon (Dragon Heat, #2) by Lolita Lopez and Dead Sexy Dragon (Dragon Heat, #1) by Lolita Lopez . Plus, this story didn't feel as rushed and the pacing flowed nicely.

I enjoyed the world building of the dragons and the bit of mystery and suspense in the story. There were intriguing parts of the story that kept me invested such as Ivy's past.

Overall, if you're looking for a paranormal romance featuring sexy dragons and hot romance, this is the book.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

WICKED DARK DRAGON is a great dragon novel, with sexy dragons. This is book 3 of the Dragon Heat books. I loved the characters, they were well-developed and the story line was well-developed. Ivy was kidnapped by the Knights of St. George who are trying to kill all the dragons. Ian Madoc (Mad) is visited by Ivy in his dreams and knows he must rescue her before she is killed. He realizes that she is his mate and he will rescue her at all cost. He gets captured while trying to rescue her and needs to be rescues by The Brotherhood of the Green Hide, his brothers and cousins. Ivy's special power is able to find the mate for any dragon around the world. I loved this story line and cannot wait to read the nest in this series. I love me some dragon!! I give WICKED DARK DRAGON 5/5 STARS.

Dragon shifters - the author had me at that. This is the third in the series, and the books are getting better and longer. Ivy and Mad(oc) are living out the "mate" scenario, but Mad just isn't sure that he's Ivy's mate because she was given his blood when she was a baby to help hide her away.

Now that Ivy is grown up (in college) and on vacation in Mexico for spring break, she is kidnapped, and Mad goes to her rescue. That's it for the storyline in this review; I don't want to give away the story, the smexiness, or the alpha-ness of all the lovely dragon shifters in this book and series.

This is a novella, so if you're looking for a quick read about (dragon) shifters, I think this will hit the spot.

Thanks for reading!
