First of all, I loved that this book included a plot point about Coalition For The Homeless & spotlighted the struggle of children raised by parents incapable or unwilling to provide for them as well as the message that, with a little help, these children can still have success stories.
That said, that was all I liked about this book:(
I try to give authors two shots before I write them off on my 'do not read' list. I read "The Intern Serials" and hated the series. Sadly, "Dangerous Temptations" wasn't any better. I noticed this book has a lot of the same broad spectrum problems as "The Intern."
• Much Ado About Nothing Plot
This author seems to have a a much ado about nothing approach to her story lines. It's angst for the sake of angst, and it's not even well done angst; it's trite, tedious inner monologues that go on forever.
On and on it went with one...
Oh he's so hot... This is so wrong... Oh he's so hot and sweet.. Oh he's an asshole... Oh he's so hot... This is wrong.. He's an asshole liar... Okay let's screw!!'
On and on it went with the other one..
'Hes so good to me.. He ignores me... He saved me... He is boring... I love him... He ignores me... I love him... He's a liar.. Okay, goodbye!'
^ 75% of the book is woe is me monologues about being torn between lustful sex gawd and safe, lonely boredom.
• Every plot point is anticlimactic.
From the storyline, readers are clearly supposed to be questioning Alex's motives. Is it revenge? Is it real or fake? But, there's no mystery here. He had the engagement ring with him and had been eager to see her again; given he didn't contact her and had it with him on hand, obviously he knew who she was, duh! If it was just fake or revenge, he would've immediately outted her, duh! No mystery, no climax!
The plot point about Alex's mom? Well, that was solved in one anticlimactic sentence. You'd have thought the dude had f'ing tied his wife up and beat her with strangled kittens for f's sake. Much ado about nothing.
The mole plot point? Well, that too was literally solved in one anticlimactic sentence. And, the mole even got her own HEA.. Wtf?!? And, it wasn't even realistic for Mr. NDA with his own son and fiancé to then turn around and marry the person that sold f'ing stories about him to the pap. Geezus!
When you're fantasizing about one guy while laying next to another and jerking off, that's kind of a give away as to who you do and don't want!
• Horrid characters
She's a cheater and in the worst possible way. She lies to her fiancé and keeps it a secret as she's still playing with fire IN THE DUDE's OWN FING HOUSE. She didn't want to tell him about HER PAST. Yet, she's pissed at him for not disclosing his past to her. Hypocrite much?
Alex? Well, what can I say. That's your dad! Maybe dad is an ass, but still. Expose him. Tell him off. Tell him you want his woman. But, shit, creeping around HIS house as you try to seduce and screw HIS woman in HIS house...That's a douchebag!
The fiancé is nothing more than an empty placeholder character.
• Over the top HEA
Mole gets a HEA.
Dad just crumbles and let's ole Alex get EVERYTHING he wants after the author making such a big deal about daddy holding his cards so close to protect his 'secrets' (scoff.) OMG what a crock of shiznet!
Oh, and no grudges or nothing. The transition from sharing a bed with someone to being their father in law and a grandparent role is apparently smooth as silk. Laughable, really!
Bottom line-
I wouldn't recommend this if it came with a free Adonis sex slave!

“I should’ve felt fear, nervous even, to be lying side by side in a bed with a man I couldn’t remember meeting, but I didn’t. It was as if my body remembered everything, and my mind just hadn’t caught up yet.”
Mackenzie Hewitt is seriously stuck in the love triangle to end all love triangles! When I started this book, I was completely sucked in from the very first chapter…and I found my eyes bugging out of my head about mid-way through because Brooke Cumberland is a sneaky, sneaky woman and the realization I came to (before Mac did) was definitely a highlight worth mentioning!
Of course, I can’t tell you what it is without spoiling it, but I will say it was a jaw-dropping moment…and let me just say, that wasn’t the only one.
This book is one filled with high society secrets, love that spans beyond ages, plenty of steamy moments, images being made and kept, and a woman who came from nothing but determination to make something of herself, even if that meant doing it alone.
“The heart wants what it wants…” I said, looking up and seeing the pleading look in his eyes. “I just wish it didn’t want you.”
If you’re wondering about the ending…despite the rollercoaster of emotions Cumberland takes you on, this one ends without a cliffhanger. My only wish is that it was longer, maybe the time “in-between” a little more drawn out. I’m a sucker for angst and I felt Mac deserved a little more than she got. I can say it ends well…complete with a Happily Ever After!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG ... Brooke's best book (story and writing) to date!!! And let me just say ... I LOVE THE TABOO!!!!! It makes me so happy ... Thank you Brooke for having the courage to tell the story that needed to be told before you told the story you thought people would fight you over ... TABOOOOOOO!!!!!

Many people didn't like this because of the inappropriateness of Alex and Mac's relationship, but I have to say that personally I liked it. It worked for me, because it does actually happen. So I could believe it.
No, there wasn't any excuse for the cheating on Mac's part but the synopsis makes you fully aware of what you're getting into before you start this, so it's pointless to read it and moan. It just makes you look silly.
Anyway, I loved 90% of this book but I have to say that I wanted more drama before everything was resolved. It keeps happening with books I read - I love the build up and then it's just BAM they skip off happily ever after - and I'm left deflated. So yes, I'm a bit disappointed but I still enjoyed it.

First and foremost, I love the COVER! and the blurb promises one hell of an angst ride (my guilty pleasure)! But, it's just a promise. And the famous line "promises are bound to be broken" suits well. I don't like to bash authors because I know that they did give their best to give a very good book but damn, I feel like I've been cheated on. I'm maybe in the minority here but I didn't connect with the story at all. I didn't feel anything... i didn't feel anything for the MCs, not even a little anger with Mac. It's just like duuuhhh up to the very last page.
Where's the angsty feeling?? I want some tearjerking moments! Or anger provoking moments. NADA! …
It may sound cliché, but.."It's not you, it's me" kind of feeling for me.
On the positive note, the writing and editing, word use is top #1. The author is trying to give a good story, but I'm so sorry, it didn't work for me. PLEASE don't be mad by my review. I wont hinder any reader into diving with this book!! Maybe this book is for you!

Holy hot and heavy Dangerous Temptations! This book is the best kind of danger: delicious, dirty, and oh-so-divine. Brooke Cumberland wowed me with a wonderfully wicked, witty, and delight of a story! Forget the step-brother romance or take the trendy step-brother story up a notch and make it soon-to-be step-mother and step-son! Dangerous Temptations is dangerous, and terribly tempting indeed.
This story is so super sexy and sinful...pure addiction. I had a hard time putting these pages of pure pleasure down. You'll want to devour the delicious Dangerous Temptations quickly as it's the most decadent food for the book whore soul. I was filled with angst, happiness, sadness, laughter, and anger. Just make sure you have a spare pair of panties on hand because this book may melt yours right off.
Mackenzie 'Mac' Hewett is blonde, blue-eyed, beautiful, and a successful fashion blogger engaged to an attractive, wealthy, and much-older man. At a bachelor party, a la Bridesmaids style, night gone wrong, Mac wakes up in the hotel room of the hottest guy ever and supposedly one hot night that she can't even remember. Tall, chiseled, brown hair and brown-eyed, man candy Alexander 'Alex' Lancaster definitely does not forget one detail of his most sexy and sizzling night ever with Mac, a woman, who in one naughty and nice night, changed the course of his night and her life.

This is an amazing story and I love that it's a stand-alone as I get greedy waiting for books to release in a series. My only suggestion is to consider a book written in both the main male and female character's point of view as I would have loved to jumped into Alex's head throughout the story.
Brooke, I've been hoarding your books for a while and this was my maiden voyage into Cruise Cumberland. You have a fan for life and I'll soon read your other series I've been collecting.

Dangerous Temptations is a stand-alone novel by Brooke Cumberland that is full of suspense, sex and deceit. I was wrapped up in from the very first page and was full of anxiety the entire time I was reading trying to decide who she would end up with and who I wanted her to end up with. Dangerous Temptations is a wickedly sinful love triangle full of lies, deceit and a taboo relationship that will make you feel awkward and excited all at the same time!
"Come on, Mac, tell me. Does he fuck you uncontrollably like I did?"
Mac comes from one of the hardest positions in life to rise above, homelessness. She has worked hard in life to get a good internship and make something of herself. So when she meets and eventually gets engaged to a wealthy man she met through work everyone assumes she is after his money. But she loves him, she cares for him and then she cheats on him. One drunken night led Mac down a rabbit hole of questionable choices and forces her to look at her life and try to understand what it is that really makes her happy.
"I've already had a taste of you . . . on my tongue, on my cock. I've already been buried deep inside of you as your tits bounced in my face. I didn't need to chase that hard in the first place, so if that were the case, I'd stop wanting you."
I loved Alex from the moment I met him. He was kind and funny and clearly was not willing to let go of the chemistry and connection he feels with Mac. When their moment of passion is over and Mac tries to move on she quickly finds their personal lives intertwined in a way she never expected and while her brain tells her to keep as much distance from Alex as she can for the sake of her sanity and her impending marriage, her heart won't let her.
"Fist the sheets, baby. Grab 'em, Don't let go."
Dangerous Temptations is scorching HOT and exciting. The sex scenes were addicting and full of intensity. I won't give away any big plot spoilers but just know that the nature of Alex and Mac's forced position in each other's lives only makes the magnitude of their desire and pull to each other that much more electrifying. I couldn't decide if I loved them together or wanted them to break apart and for her to put her focus on repairing her relationship with her fiancé. The twists and turns the story took constantly had me changing my mind but by the end everyone ends up right where you want them!

Let's talk for a second about that cover. . . OMG . . .could that cover get any HOTTER! A cover for me really sells the book and this one does an amazing job. Even if I had never read a Brooke book before I would have one-clicked based off that cover alone. However, I have read a lot of Brooke Cumberland's work and enjoyed them all but I have to say she does taboo relationships extremely well. She knows just how to get you to that uncomfortable yet arousing place that makes you desperate for more.

Dangerous Temptations is scorching HOT and exciting. The sex scenes were addicting and full of intensity. I won't give away any big plot spoilers but just know that the nature of Alex and Mac's forced position in each other's lives only makes the magnitude of their desire and pull to each other that much more electrifying. I couldn't decide if I loved them together or wanted them to break apart and for her to put her focus on repairing her relationship with her fiancé. The twists and turns the story took constantly had me changing my mind but by the end everyone ends up right where you want them!

Let's talk for a second about that cover. . . OMG . . .could that cover get any HOTTER! A cover for me really sells the book and this one does an amazing job. Even if I had never read a Brooke book before I would have one-clicked based off that cover alone. However, I have read a lot of Brooke Cumberland's work and enjoyed them all but I have to say she does taboo relationships extremely well. She knows just how to get you to that uncomfortable yet arousing place that makes you desperate for more.

First the cover!! I love everything about the cover Every time I saw it I wanted to read the book even more. The color combination, the wording position, her grabbing his pants... his scruff!!! The cover deserves it's own rating- Boom a 5 Star cover!!
Ahh, you never know when a book will have a good triangle until it hits you in the face. That's exactly what happened. I read the blurb and still it didn't enter my mind. But that's nothing... nothing. That was such a small little plot that when the real thing hits you'll soon learn all you need to know. A few time during my read I was left with my mouth open, shocked and surprised. Characters I thought I knew and had figured out and then whoosh, I was going through a revolving door only to be hit with something on the other side. The way it played out was enjoyable because of that fact!
I had a love, like and blah feeling for some of the characters. Which, when you read a book like this you really need a jumbled mix of feelings.
William is the type of man that on first glance you swoon instantly. But the minute you begin to peel his layers you realize a robot lives underneath and your future passes before your eyes and you become old and rusty like his robotic parts. He's sweet, but not sweet enough for a tooth ache or an ache anywhere....
"I'm so close darling," I felt him tighten up and I knew it was now or never.
I really enjoyed Mac's character around half way. I loved the strong storyline and loved how the past shaped her strong goal and future. I questioned so many times up until this point, pretty much her every decision but once she gave in and let her story be told I got it.
I deserved it. I let reality slip for a moment and gave in to how I was feeling, not even bothering to are how this would change everything. How this would affect living under the same roof as the man who I apparently couldn't control myself around.
Alex, though, definitely makes you swoon but in an entirely different way. New and fresh but the kind that keeps you young no matter your age. The newness won't wear off. Every time is earth shattering. Even in dreams. Alex had both the sexy swagger and the full out swoon material without being to lush with it. He says it like it is and with all the hope in the world.
"I was trying to get you out of my mind, and I failed miserably. The only thing I want from you is you. I don't need to parade you around like a little trophy wife or show you off to my friends. once you see that, you'll change your mind."
I loved that he could be crass and harsh but still completely truthful. Then he could turn to mood around by a few simple, hot words.

4-4.5 Stars *SLIGHT SPOILERS READ WITH CAUTION
I finally got around to reading this book and I liked it a lot, I just didn't love it! Yes, it was the usual, hot and sexy, great writing, a great premise as well but maybe I wished it played out a bit differently at least for me personally, oh and Alex, oh my, he was just....wow, did I LOVE him!!!!! I guess how the storyline itself played out for me was just hmmmm not sure how I want to explain it. The storyline was ok, I guess, maybe it's because I had a hard time with her and William while things were still lingering between her and Alex, uggghhhhh, sorry I couldn't get into her and William like at all and I guess that's what I am trying to say and I felt myself cringe when anything physical happened between them, lol, ewwww I just couldn't get into those 2, sorry!!!! But Alex, I mean that guy was every girl's fantasy for sure, I mean whoa...he was hot stuff and there is no way I could have or would have wanted to stay away from him, hehehehe!!!!

At first the relationship dynamics between the main characters were kind of weird, but I guess nothing works out neatly in real life so I could appreciate it for its realism. The book was very well written and edited to near perfection. The plot was was novel but a bit shaky and unconvincing at times. The conflict between Alex and Mac was not really resolved to my satisfaction. I mean why did he feel the need to say those things about her? The only explanation provided was that she wasn't meant to hear him say those things...but not why he felt the need to say it. Anyways despite all that it was an enjoyable read. The satisfaction and emotions I experienced at the end of this book especially during reading the last chapter and epilogue is the reason I read romance novels.
P.S. I wish they would change the cover....it is downright embarrassing ;)

Definitely worth the read for me. William, a good looking older man, twice Mac's age, great shape and very wealthy, but I call a bore, that's my opinion. Mac didn't see "it" coming but if I were her, I'd be glad it did! Lucky girl.

Dangerous Temptations takes you down a dangerous road full of lies, deceit, temptation, love and redemption. This story covers a topic not a lot of people like to read about and not a lot of authors will write about. Brooke Cumberland took a chance and wrote a love story that is deceptive, yet beautiful.
So freaking treacherous and risky, yet alluring.

I fell in love with both the h/H even before I got my hands on this book. I was sucked into this story from the synopsis and then consumed by the first page. I would stalk Brooke's facebook pages, instagram, website...you name it! I couldn't get enough of the teasers, excerpts and sneak peeks she would release.
I had to have this book, I needed it!
Finally after weeks of going crazy, wanting to meet these two characters...it happened. I was ready to dive head in and experience everything that was Mac and Alex. Instead of devouring this book as I had initially planned, I savored it and there wasn't one part of me that didn't feel every part of their journey.

I want you to think of the type of man you have envisioned him as from anything Brooke has posted...now, multiply that by 100! Alexander Lancaster will exceed your expectations. He is utter freaking perfection in my eyes. Bawdy, cheeky, and suggestive, he fuels the fire that simmers within me. He's deep and the depth of his love for Mac, constantly flows like an endless river. I fell in love with the intensity and strength of his love and through his love for her, I was forced to fall in love with him. He without a doubt, crawled into my heart and became the very reason for it's beat.
"I want to watch every part of you, sweetheart. But I want you to only feel. No watching. No touching. Only feeling."

"I couldn’t think, only feel and he was making me feel something I had never felt before."
The internal battle that this character goes through is heartfelt. Everything about her says survivor. She speaks volumes and her emotions are so dead on that you feel them as if they were your own. I loved her character, like freaking floved! She constantly puts up a fight at every turn and I must say she was strong because I probably would have caved wayyyy before her. Actually, I know I would have...I mean seriously, have you met Alex...he's an animal!
"You’re an animal if you can go again…” I said in between his kisses. My body responded to him immediately, arching up to feel him against me "
That one unfaithful night gave her everything she ever wanted, no matter how treacherous it was. She ended up with someone who loves her for her, completely. Brookie love, you are a writing extraordinaire. I say this because you gave us this story from one POV, yet the voice and the feelings of Alex were just as loud and just as clear, if not more than Mac's. You pushed every limit, moved every single boundary with their journey. This book completely captivated me, utterly consumed me while Alex captured every piece of me!
"I was in love with Alexander Lancaster, and I wanted every part of me to feel it."

I'm a really big fan of this author and her other books, so when I heard about this book, I knew I wanted to read it straightaway! And then I saw the cover, which basically made me want the book right there and then lol! The synopsis for this book is also a bit vague, so I wasn't 100% sure what to expect from it until I started reading it! I really, really enjoyed this book though! It wasn't like I was expecting it to be! It was so much better than I was expecting it to be lol! The plot was also written beautifully! It did involve cheating though, which I wasn't sure if it was going too and I despise cheating in a relationship, but I could understand why the main character cheated on her fiancé in this book, which made it easier for me to understand why she did it! I also had such a hard time putting this book down! I was drawn right into it! There were also some seriously, and I mean seriously, hot scenes in this book too! I just loved everything about it, and I read it in a few sittings! It was just amazing and progressed brilliantly! The characters were also amazing! Mackenzie 'Mac' was the main character, and I actually loved her in this book! I wasn't expecting to love her anywhere near as much as I did because of the whole cheating side of the plot, but Mac really impressed me and I loved that she didn't lead her love interests on! Mac also had regret over what she was doing and she tried to stop it! She also worked really hard at her job and had done really well for herself! I also felt really sorry for her because of her childhood and the environment she grew up in! She had been through a lot, which made her appreciate what she had! I just loved her! Mac obviously had two love interests in this book because of the cheating side of the plot! Her two love interests were William, her fiancé, and Alexander 'Alex'! I do have to say that I adored Alex in this book! He was seriously hot, and I could see that he had deep feelings for Mac! He was also very protective of her and he always made sure she was okay and safe! William on the other hand kept secrets from Mac and treated her like a possession instead of someone he loved! I also found him okay at the beginning of the book, but then I started to see what he was really like! It wasn't hard to see the differences in Alex and William, and I definitely preferred Alex over William for more reasons than what I've written here lol! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything in the plot was resolved and the ending was so beautiful and perfect! I won't tell you who Mac ends up with because that would be a spoiler lol, but I can say you will be very happy with her choice ;) I can't wait to see what this author is going to release next as well! I'll definitely read anything from her! The cover for this book has to be one of my absolute favourites! It's just absolutely stunning and seriously hot! Review for Dangerous Temptations by Brooke Cumberland
I’ve read a lot of books already this year, and I have to say Dangerous Temptations is one of my favorites. From storyline to character development — romance, relationships, drama, smut, and everything in between this book will run you through a gamut of emotions. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, Cumberland throws in a curveball.
William is the perfect gentleman. Polished, refined, and successful. He’s determined that he and Mac are a perfect match. They have amazing chemistry, mutual respect, and love …
“How do you want it?” he asked, making me blush in response. “Tell me what you like…” he demanded, nuzzling his nose alongside my jawline.
Mac hasn’t led a privileged life. She had to work for every single thing, every opportunity was earned with her stubborn will to succeed. Maybe even a little blood, sweat, and tears. My favorite part about Mac is her strength. She’s been through hell and back and managed to come out on the other side a better person for all the hardships she survived. Even in the moments where I wanted to throttle her and her choices, I still respected her character.
“Hard. Rough. Hot.” I felt his body tremble against mine.
He bit my neck and groaned.
Alex is everything a person could possibly want in a book boyfriend. He’s a growly alpha man with a sweet side. He knows what he wants and will do anything to get it — no matter the consequences.

The chemistry in this book is off the charts. I couldn’t get enough. If you are already a fan of Cumberland’s work you are going to find this to be some her most erotic and emotional work to date. Dangerous Temptations is a perfect balance of dramatic storyline and super hot smut. Okay, I’ll be honest here, anyone that knows me knows I can never get enough hot smut … but if I had to pick a book to say has perfect balance between the two, this would be it. My only complaint with this book is that I can never un-read it and experience it for the first time again. Dangerous Temptations easily earned FIVE stars for storyline and FIVE PLUS drenched panties, not to mention certified Mommy’s a Book Whore must read status!
You won’t be disappointed.

Dangerous Temptations is a stand alone novel that will take you on a road of twists and turns, lies and deceit, and a lot of hotness!
I have been a huge fan of Brooke Cumberland’s writing and am always looking forward to the next book she releases, and Dangerous Temptations definitely lived up to all the hype. I fell in love with these characters and definitely could feel the emotions that Mac was going through throughout this entire story.
We meet Mackenzie “Mac” as she gets herself stuck into a huge love triangle. This isn’t your normal love triangle, and I can’t say more without giving everything away, but it definitely blew my mind with the twist that was written into this story. At first I was rooting for William, he seemed to be the guy Mac needed, but the more I got to know Alex, OMG I swooned hard for this man and immediately switched sides and was on Team Alex all the way!
I enjoyed watching Mac come to terms with what she had done, as well as opening herself up to Alex and letting her know about her past. You could tell she was herself around him more than she was with William, but she loved William. There were parts in this story that I was like OMG c’mon Mac, can’t you see who the right man for you is, and then other times, I was like hmm.. who should she end up with?
As much as I loved Alex, there were points in this book that I wanted to slap him. Especially when everything goes down and she over hears him saying something that makes her opinion of him change. There were also times with William that I was like wow he can be awesome, why would she question this, and then BAM he would do something completely stupid and didn’t even realize it.
This story may be a love triangle, and I know a lot of people are not a fan of it, but I loved this story. I loved watching Mac open up and share her past, as well as grow as a character throughout the book. She may have made some mistakes, but she was definitely a character you will love.
The only thing about this book that I wish was different is that I wish we would have gotten a little more from the ending to the epilogue. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for an angsty, hot, sexy stand alone read. A totally enjoyable, intoxicating read! Dangerous Temptations delves into a world of forbidden seduction, where you are left to wonder how something so wrong, can feel so right. This scandalous and scorching hot romance left me enamored and overheated. The blurb will reel you in, but you have no idea what wicked delights Ms. Cumberland has in store for you. Some of you avid romance readers might shy away from this book, and have some apprehension about the 'one unfaithful night' part in the synopsis. I for one, am not a big fan of cheating in romance novels, but surprisingly, I wasn't turned off by it in this story. Yes, there was cheating, and yes there was remorse and regret and sometimes I wanted to lash out and sucker punch a character or two, but I was still captivated by their story, and totally engrossed in how and when the happily ever after would click into place. It became less about my anger because of the blatant unfaithfulness, and more about the beautiful love story that followed that one mistake.
Dangerous Temptations is about a woman who grew up with nothing, and is finally free to live comfortably with a man who takes care of her needs. It's about what happens when temptations rise, and you can't help but to discover what you are really missing in life: spontaneity, fireworks, and indescribable lust. You can fight, scrape, and claw all you want, denying a dangerous attraction that makes you feel alive, makes you feel on fire. When it comes down to it, do you follow your head or your heart?
Be prepared for this to take you by surprise! A bombshell had me questioning everything! The emotional pull was intense, and the love scenes were on fire! Dangerous Temptations was an all around delicious and sexy read! Brooke Cumberland does a nice job of giving us a dash of suspense with our romance.

Dangerous Temptations follows a young women named Mackenzie, a New York City fashion blogger for Boxy Magazine. When she meets William Landcaster, New York powerhouse, he sweeps her off her feet. Shortly after dating they get engaged, making everyone think she was just some gold-digger after his money. But one night was all it took to take away everything she thought she wanted.
When Alex comes into her life unexpectedly, he changes EVERYTHING, making her question what she thought she once wanted. Temptations fly and she finds herself in a situation she never thought she would be living in.
Mackenzie, I found her to be a bit annoying at the beginning. Her thoughts and feelings were all over the place. She didn't know what she wanted. William, he was too into his work, ignoring her most of the time and always away on business, leaving Mackenzie alone too much. Alex was the best. He pushed Mackenzie, he made her open her eyes and made her choose what she wanted out of life. She wanted to hate him, but she didn't, he became a total sucker for her, making their chemistry sizzle! He was sexy and totally had that alpha vibe about him.
The sex: It was hot. That's all I'm gonna say.
I loved the ending... The last 30% of this book was the best. Everything came together perfectly. Mackenzie ended up in the right place with the right person. I loved how this story came together. I was a little ify in the middle but Brooke definitely pulled it all together for a great ending.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review and let me tell you wowza. This book is so good from the first page to the very last word you will not want to put this book down.
In this book we meet Mac (Mackenzie Hewitt) and Alex (Alexander) in this book Mac has grown up under a hard life (you will find out how hard as you get farther into the book) but one day she meet Mr. William Lancaster on that day her life starts to change. It does not matter to Mac that Will is twice her age or is twice as rich as her. She likes her job likes the charities she is a part of and having a strong man that can take care of her apart of her life. Then one night at a bachelorette party something goes wrong. Mac doesn't know what happened but she wakes up the next morning next to this incredibly good looking man who tells her his name is Alex. The problem for Mac she can't remember what happened last night or how she got to this room.
Alex has been away at school for the last couple of years and just got back into town. Before going home he takes a breather and goes out to meet a friend. However instead of meeting up with a friend one look at Mac and he knows who he wants to spend his night with. However come morning there will be a price to pay for falling into the arms of a stranger.
This book has twists and turns that you might or might not see coming over all this book is an amazing story about finding yourself and letting that person shine. I would recommend this book it is a must read

WOW! Yes, Mac is engaged to marry William. But how could she want him when Alex is offering, in clear descriptive detail, what he's offering? Seriously! I could read pages of that man talking. And when he smirks, yeah I was a goner.
Mac wakes up after a drunken bachelorette party for a friend, in the bed of a man who is not her fiance. Funny enough, she also doesn't remember much. However it's clear the connection between Mac and Alex is instant and its hot. But more than that, she's comfortable around him and fights with her conscious when she knows she needs to leave. She's feels guilt, but is confused by also feeling a loss when she leaves Alex.
I won't spoil the surprise or provide details, but you know Mac and Alex will meet again. Please don't think because there is cheating in this book that you'll hate it. It really didn't make me uncomfortable at all the way it's written. It's a necessary part to the story and its essential to get the ball rolling. You know by their first scene together that what Mac and Alex shared is powerful and you also know it's going to be extremely hard to fight. The characters are great. I fell in love with Alex immediately. He's so sweet and sexy and the man knows what he wants. He doesn't quit. He fights for it. Mac is a little more stubborn and stressed me on a number of occasions. However that Mac roller coaster ends up taking a smooth ride and giving you the perfect happy ending to fit the story.
Overall, I loved it and look forward to more stories from this author.

Dangerous Temptations is my favorite Brooke Cumberland Brooke.
Mackenzie (Mac) didn't have a very fair life when growing up, but when the book starts you see that she's worked hard to forget that life, and to make it to a point in life where she's happy. She's got a good job, and she's engaged to man she seems love, who happens to be pretty rich. William and Mackenzie seem to have a pretty simple routine. They seem to be in love, happy, and everything is simple...
Until one night full of Dangerous Temptations
When Mac goes out drinking with friends, she meets Alex...
The next morning, she wakes up beside him naked.. And she's full of regret and remorse. When she leaves its with the understanding that they'll never see each other again. And she was okay with that because she wanted to make things with William work. However, little did she know that the last time she seen him was only the beginning.
Alex and Mac have amazing chemistry and passion, but through almost the whole book, Mac tries to deny it, claiming that she wants her life with William.
This book was absolutely amazing, dangerous, and hot. I can't wait for the next five star read by Brooke.

Seriously, in my opinion, Dangerous Temptations is Author Brooke Cumberland's best work yet! I loved it! Like, I'm surely going to re-read several times before I even remotely tire of it, kind of loved it! It's hot, sexy, complicated, emotional, taboo to some I suppose, and just utterly an awesome read! I'm actually kind of wishing it wasn't a stand alone. It's a complete story though, so I can't complain.
The writing is top-notch! Brooke Cumberland is a very talented writer, not doubt! The characters in Dangerous temptations were developed well and had great chemistry. I really enjoyed the romantic relationships as well as the friendships and familiar relationships.
I know that some are hesitant to read this because of the cheating aspect mentioned in the synopsis and I understand that, but this book is amazing nonetheless. I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author!

This book is scandalously good !!!
One mistake can be all you need to turn your world upside down. Mackenzie comes from nothing she's struggled and has managed to find the fairytale life.
This book starts off showing us that fairytale hea and then bam one night changes that. At first I honestly wasn't sure if I would enjoy this book as much I did. Mac seems to have found a good life and in one night all of that is seemingly ruined.
This story though is more than you think and as I continued reading I got sucked in completely. The relationship between Mac and Alex is full of chemistry it oozes off the pages. I almost forgot that it was wrong.
There were so many omg and wtf moment for me and I couldn't read this fast enough dying to find out how this would work. How it was going to play out. This book at moments had me torn.
Alex I loved him but at the same time I thought he's making this difficult. The guy had some balls !!!! It made his appeal that much more.
This was a solid 4.5 stars for me and I am definitely interested in reading more books from this author.

Mackenzie and Mr. Lancaster have a slow burn and comfortable relationship. And it’s the repetition and comfort that keep Mackenzie happy with how things are. No sudden changes and no surprises until she wakes up next to Alex. Alex is temptation and sin and even though she is engaged to Mr. Lancaster, one night with Alex will threaten everything she held dear. The chemistry is there even if she can’t remember, but ‘feel’ what happened the night before. “I didn’t want to be attracted to him, but clearly, I was. I didn’t want my body to react to his, but it was something I couldn’t help. Being attracted to him was dangerous. Temptation is an evil bitch.” And it only gets more complicated….So hot and so naughty, you can’t help but keep turning the pages and see how deliciously sinful this story unfolds. Lies, Sex, and Temptations are all Dangerous things when mixed with lovers’ emotions. Pick up this book to see how the story unfolds.

I am in shock and awe over this book. I didn't see it turning out the way it did. I loved it. I could not put it down. Mac is such a strong character, even if you think she's terrible for the cheating thing. She has over came so much in her life and even though she hadn't experienced many relationships, she opened herself up to one that she thought would be forever. Until the smoking hot Alex comes into the picture and turns her world upside down and making her see that the relationship she's in now is not what she thinks it is. Making her she see deserves more. But he ends up being a little closer to her then she knows. Worlds collide in this awesome story of love and betrayal. But will Mac realize what she has and how she truly feels before it is too late? This is a must read by the fabulous Brooke Cumberland!! Bravo, Brooke, Bravo!

I have been reading Brooke's work ever since I found her. I love all of the books that he has written. Each book is different than the next. That is what I love about her writing. You are always going to get a new story with every book.

ooh the feels! This book had the angst and the steam and that Alex what dirty mouth he has but oh man did it make me swoon. I never do spoilers and well if ya wanna know the emotional roller coaster I just rode then you gotta read. I floved it could not put it down! if you love hot sexy romance with unexpected twist then you best be reading this when it releases. I am still trying to process something that was revealed! ooh Brooke woman! shaking my fist at you but man it was a fantastic story!
