CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. –
Melissa Stabley placed second in No. 1 singles at the North Eastern Athletic Conference women's tennis championship held at Birchwood Tennis Club Sunday.
Stabley, the No. 1 seed, knocked off Penn State Abington's Gabby Eberhardt, 2-6, 6-1, 10-8 in the semifinals before being edged by Wells' Taryn Heath, 6-4, 6-4, in the championship.
Stabley and
Morgan Blackwell teamed to take second in No. 1 doubles. The duo knocked off Shelby Morseman and Heidi Van Buskirk, of Keuka, 8-5 in the semifinals before falling to Heath and Brooke Benedetto, 8-0, in the championship.
Stabley earned All-NEAC Second Team honors in singles and she and Blackwell earned the same honor in doubles.
