ABERDEEN, S.D. – Southwest Minnesota State University sophomore
Rylee Armstrong completed the second day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Heptathlon at Swisher Field with a 14th place finish.
Armstrong, who battled through an injury suffered on Sunday, closed with 3,530 points during the seven events.
Katlyn Sawtelle from the University of Sioux Falls won the overall individual title with 5,049 points.
In today's action, Armstrong earned 469 points with a mark of 4.66m in the long jump, recorded 536 points with a personal best 33.12m toss in the javelin and ran a 3:09.65 in the 800 meters to earn 281 points.
On Sunday, she ran a 17.44 in the 100 meter hurdles for 548 points, recorded a 1.5m mark in the high jump for 621 points, tossed 9.31m in the shot put for 484 points and finished with a time of 28.51 in the 200 meters for 591 points.
The remainder of the NSIC Outdoor Championships will take place on May 8-9 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Southwest Minnesota State University track & field teams continue action this Friday and Saturday at the Dakota Relays at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls.
