New Hampshire blues singer “Mighty” Sam McClain has died.McClain, 72, suffered a stroke in April and died Monday night. The cause of death was not immediately known.“If you listen closely, you can hear his mighty voice and music from heaven,” McClain’s Facebook page wrote.McClain’s record label is based in Newmarket, according to SB Entertainment.McClain was born in Louisiana and had been performing since 1958.He moved to New England in the 1990s through his participation in the “Hubert Sumlin Blues Party” project, which grouped Boston-based musicians. He then settled in New Hampshire.He released at least 17 albums during his career, including 15 since 1992, and received a Grammy nomination, according to his website.
