The Disturbing Reason For The Navy’s Trident Missile Test

tumblr_ns69tl6utf1qfc5cxo1_1280By Joshua Krause

By now you’ve probably heard all about the strange light that was seen across the western United States and Mexico on Saturday night, as well as the Navy’s explanation for the anomaly. Apparently, the light was nothing more than a test of a Trident II missile (which is normally armed with a nuclear warhead) that was launched from a submarine in the Pacific. The only question that remains, is why did the Navy conduct their secret test at a time and place where so many people would be able to see it?

Typically these tests are a quiet affair, and for a very good reason. They don’t want foreign ships to observe these launches, lest they discover some of the capabilities of the missile. So why run the test at a time of day when the conditions were absolutely perfect for millions of people to witness it?

The sun was at the perfect angle to reflect light off of the missile’s exhaust, which made a brilliant display for witnesses on the West Coast. If the launch had occurred a little earlier or a little later, very few people would have even seen it. And why bother doing it off the coast of one of largest cities in the world, when you have the entire Pacific Ocean at your disposal?

Truth be told, the Navy has tested this missile over a 150 times before with little fanfare. In fact, they did another test early Monday afternoon and nobody noticed. So what gives?

For now the Navy is playing dumb, and have claimed that they had no idea the test would create such a spectacular view. However, the spectacle seems awfully convenient given the current tensions between the US, Russia, and China. It’s also pretty convenient, given what Defense Secretary Ash Carter told the media a day before the launch.

“In the face of Russia’s provocations and China’s rise,” Carter said, “we must embrace innovative approaches to protect the United States and strengthen that international order.”

Russia is violating sovereignty in Ukraine and Georgia and is trying to intimidate the Baltic states, and in Syria it is prolonging a civil war, the secretary added.

“At sea, in the air, in space and in cyberspace, Russian actors have engaged in challenging activities,” he told the audience, noting that Moscow’s nuclear saber-rattling raises questions about Russian leaders’ commitment to strategic stability.

“We do not seek to make Russia an enemy,”Carter said. “But make no mistake. The United States will defend our interests, and our allies, the principled international order, and the positive future it affords us all.”

It’s beginning to look like our government just wanted to flex its military might in front of the entire world. And when you think about it, this was the perfect way to do that without compromising the capabilities of the missile. If they had announced the launch ahead of time, it would have given Russian and Chinese submarines the opportunity to observe the launch up close, and learn a few of its secrets. But this way they could keep the launch under wraps until the last minute, while still making a massive spectacle that would explode all over social media.

There’s a very good reason why this show of force involved a Trident missile as opposed to other nuclear or conventional deterrents. This system is probably the single biggest military threat to Russia and China, because it gives our military a stealthy, mobile launch pad for missiles that can strike at incredibly long distances, and at very high speed.

To give you an idea of what the Navy just showed off, each nuclear armed submarine can carry 24 Trident II missiles, and each missile can carry multiple nuclear warheads. Each warhead can have a yield of up to 475 kilotons, and is capable of acquiring independent targets. It has a range of 4000 nautical miles, and can reach a speed of over 18,000 miles per hour. In other words, a few submarines placed between Hawaii and California could put an end to China in about 15 minutes.

Essentially, the military just issued a not-so-friendly reminder to China and Russia: They are still the toughest kid on the block, and they are still fully capable of turning their enemies into radioactive dust at a moment’s notice. It’s also the same sort of irresponsible and bellicose show of force that every dying empire gives in its final days. It’s a sign that our government can no longer dominate the planet by conventional means. If they could, this nuclear display would be unnecessary.

Let’s just hope that the belligerent and increasingly desperate power players in Washington never make good on their threat.

  1. The US government is already responsible for covering the planet in radioactive dust not even counting all the global industrial accidents (known and unknown) that have taken place since the formation of the first atomic pile. All the members of the UN (United Nazis) Security Council are gun runners for the central bank. These exercises are a form of entertainment between the so called big powers as they are all in on the Agenda 21/30 protocols; it’s more fear mongering for sure. The downside is money wasted and more damaging chemicals for the ozone layer. As far as secrets of weaponry are concerned that’s pretty much a joke when you consider that the powers of the eastern governments are far ahead of the US when comes to Remote Viewing and the use of psychics with highly advanced clairvoyance.

    • Every continent and virtually every nation state is participating in the poisoning that is Geoengineering, including Asia and Russia. TPTB love to see writers go on about old missile systems rather than the UN and Bankster ongoing poisoning and enslavement agendas.

  2. can they send the next one to DC?

    • That would solve a lot of problems.

    • antiliberalcryptonite | November 11, 2015 at 7:54 am |

The N Koreans promised to nuke DC. Where are they when we need them???!?!?!

    • Exactly! The Feral Gov is sooo interested in protecting their “International Order” but can’t secure the southern border of the USSA? These ProgreSSives, of “both” ruling parties of the USSA, have outsourced the industrial capacity of the country and it’s wealth through “International Trade” bolstering China and other foreign countries at the expense of their “own” citizen sheeples.
Three Chinese warships just docked at Mayport, FL. a top security nuclear sub naval base for a “visit”???? Chinese construction companies And Chinese workers are rebuilding CA, roads and bridges???? Why? The Chinese are demanding return on their collateral……Surprise!! the USSA is Debtor Nation and if the sheeples don’t realize it, the Chinese know we are factually Bankrupt.
Henry Kissinger’s obscured quote on Chinese troops landing in LA on a UN peacekeeping mission with cheering crowds welcoming them may be sooner rather than later.

      • You talk much but say little other than typical right wing bluster and blubber. If the US falls, it will be from within and generated by the fundamentalist, racist, warmongering cults that are feeding the military industrial “intelligence” complex.

Your name calling and efforts at diminution of the president and presidency as well as attacks on people who (thank god) do not look like you have run their course. Soon the generation that has brought North America down will be dying off. New generations are already making hatred and racism no longer a part of the American way of life.

The true power of democracy will be seen in the voting revolution of 2016. The radical right wing has finally jumped the shark. Americans are rejecting the capture of “conservatism” by the American Taliban of fundamentalists and warmongers who live to serve none but the MIC and chaos.

        • Comrade David you are back from the Univ.of Missouri so soon? Great job there! Obamy and Valerie are sooo proud.
If you had the intelligence of a peapod you would see from my profile that I see the Chamberpot Repubs creating a war with Russia and China too. Just because I fail to support Illegal Invasions over our southern border in violation of law means I’m the “Taliban” in your “useful idiot” eyes.
You do know what Lenin did to his useful idiots ,don’t you? “But….but Obamy loved me” is what you’ll be sputtering to the Feral Polezi if Ready for Hilarity reigns.

        • I see the very opposite of what you are saying is happening by the results all over America by the people who are being elected to public office. The concervative politicans are winning and the liberals are being beaten because christians are standing up and fighting back against these wicked perverted liberals who want the government to support their sick subversive agendas and the moraless part of our citizens who want to subvert our laws and customs are being exposed for their sick evil life styles that they are trying to force on the moral majority so wait and see who is going to take control again not the liberals and perverted trash you advocate

Rev. I thought Jesus told us to love each other and not judge others?? Yet your posts are all filled with hate, bigotry and judgmentalness. You are not following your own religion with such posts.

          • No, Jesus said “Judge not lest ye be judged.” which means to judge others fairly and as you would have them judge you.

It would be utterly stupid for God to tell people never to judge, unless He were here to enforce laws, which He is not (right now). He gave us the knowledge and tools with which to judge when judgement is required, and He command us to do it fairly and according to His word.

he NEVER said not to judge.

          • David L. Allison | November 11, 2015 at 11:06 pm |

Sorry, Paul, the interpretation of bible stories and quotations are pretty subjective. Emmett may well think that the line attributed to “Jesus” is just as likely to have been intended to prohibit the haughty spirit that leads humans to assume the authority to judge just as bible’s “God” or “Jesus” are authorized to judge.

          • @EGrogan:disqus “I thought…” You were partially right. Jesus told us to love one another as we love ourselves. But, He didn’t tell or teach us not to judge others (or their sins). He told us to judge righteously – not to be hypocrites.

Many people cherry-pick a piece of a passage, and claim, with authoritarian voice, “Judge not lest ye be judged!” … and, they have no idea what the rest of the passage says. Following that, Jesus said (I’m paraphrasing), “Remove the sin that blocks your own vision, so that you may see the mote in your brother’s eye better, so you can remove it with him.”

A lot of people point at the woman who was about to be stoned, and say that teaches not to judge. They’re wrong. That passage teaches us not to *condemn*! The last verse says, “Neither do I condemn you. Go forth, and sin no more.”

Break that down – He doesn’t condemn *her*, but then tells her to go on with her life, and to stop sinning. If He didn’t judge, he wouldn’t have mentioned that she had been sinning, nor would He have told her not to do it, anymore.

Judging sin is not being hateful nor bigoted. However, celebrating someone’s sin is harmful to both their souls, and your own. ““Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” – meaning, if you cause someone to sin (or to continue to sin), and don’t try to correct them (by JUDGING!), you are responsible for his damnation.

I love the comparisons of all of the lay theologists comparisons of what their God meant by what the bible stories words actually meant. It is good to see the diversity of opinions. I am pretty sure that none of the righteous folks posting here support killing all the gay people as endorsed by the fundamentalist nut case and endorsed by several of the Republican candidates. Well, I’m sort of sure or, at least I hope so.

          • I’m sure that some are “lay theologists” – but, it’s an assumption to claim all are.
Some of us *do*, in fact, research the Word. We compare the actual words recorded with the language of their time (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek), as well as words with similar meanings (like the difference between “kill”, “murder”, etc.), as well as with the different versions of the verses in different English Bibles.

I don’t endorse killing *anybody* because of their sin… unless their sin is to attack “me or mine”, or to attack innocents.

We’re responsible for the lives of those entrusted to us. So, if a gay person were the one threatening the lives of my family, or of an innocent – yeah, I’d support his being neutralized, whether that just means “disarmed and restrained” or if it meant “has been caused to stop breathing and to attain room temperature.”

        • Excuse me, but the generation you speak of, the Baby Boomers, were right on the front lines of the civil rights movement, some even lost their lives. Our generation is still fighting racism and bigotry on many fronts – why don’t you know this?

    • Wouldn’t even need a warhead.

  3. I doubt this scared either Russia or China because they know that ObamaTheTurd is still in charge.
    God Bless the USA!

40 year old ballistic missile. The Russians and Chinese already know its so-called secrets and they can shoot it and its warheads out of the sky. Remember Jonnie Pollard? Remember all the nuclear and missile secrets sold to China by Clinton. The Daily Sheeple is a disinfo rag that pushes war with Russia and China for their masters in the NWO. I bet the Russians and Chinese are shakin in their boots……NOT!

  5. A spectacular military analyse of a Fifth grader. These recent Trident tests were for sideshow entertained the naive public. Russia and China are possessing the same capacities. The Power That Be won’t dare to risk any nuclear exchanges against either China and/or Russia, they have too much to lose considering all the stolen zillions accumulated.

Any nuclear exchanges between the 3 Super Power will turn the whole Earth into HomoSapients’ tomb

  6. I always laugh at the get rid of nukes we pull to try and get the rest of the world to disarm. We pull a few old outdated WMD and tell the world “see how wonderful and peaceful we are!” Nukes are the reason we are finding the peace we now have. The mutually assured destruction has worked well. But allowing the fanatics of the world nukes will not work. It is time to upgrade our systems. NOT down grade them. Just the way it is.

  7. Just standard saber rattling 4 Chinks & North Koreans & also to showboat
them shiny marbles – to placate We, who’s footing the bill for such
    nonsense bullcr@p; military dyno-might, my ar$e!

  8. Actually I think there is so much radiation in the ecosystem now that we are all dead but have not laid down yet. Keep taking your iodine!

    • It’s good to see another at least aware of the current situation in regard to how radiactive the planet has become and it’s only getting worse by the day. Just because the outcome was not immediate so few cared to even look at the elephant in the room. The earth is no longer able to support human life. People like to think judgement day is coming. It has already passed and humanity has failed in all the worst ways.

        • I was not trying to get anyone to start giving examples of what I’m talking about but I should have known some would not be able to help there selves.

        • Cabo, Cabo, Cabo. Radical right wing ignorant buffoon: Give up your trolling here and get back to your simplistic hateful and destructive websites that daily reduce the sum total of human understanding.

      • So there is no life on Earth anymore?? I bet you ate something grown out of the ground yesterday, along with billions of other people. How long have you been in this coma???

        • Wow and you dare ask another if they’re in a coma? You obviously do not understand the part about how the effects of all this radiation are not immediate. Perhaps it is time for you to wake from your coma and begin to educate yourself on how the food supply has been intentionaly contaminated in many ways not the least of which has been genetic modification. Thank you for supporting my views.

      • So much radioactivity in naturally occurring amounts.
Hey, what happens if I concentrate this radioactive material? I can generate electricity from it!

        • Would you like to actually contribute to the conversation? Do you think that somehow making an obvious statement negates the obvious?

        • You forget that Fukushima has been leaking tons of radiation into the ocean since 2011; then there’s San Onofre which is leaking radiation, along with numerous other nuclear plants. The Japanese themselves have said that over 1 million children will die due to the radiation from Fukushima.

Why do you have such a problem believing our planet is full of man-made radiation?

          • No, I’m not forgetting that Fukushima has leaked tons of radioactive material into the ocean. San Onofre isn’t leaking, it has no fuel.
In either case, the fuel was CONCENTRATED from NATURALLY occurring material.
I have no problem with radiation. I’ve worked in nuclear power plants (both military and San Onofre). I’ve had radiation therapy for Cancer.

          • It’s all about denial. The one thing that the human race as a whole is desperately lacking and in dire need of is responsibility. Taking the easy way out has become the name of the game. Most now exist within their own bubble of blissfull ignorance while the real world around them burns. When they encounter something that could compromise their ignorance or possibly bring about real consequences they try to cower in their bubble and deny everything they feel is inconvenient. This is why there is the saying to never argue with a fool for they will only bring you down to their level and beat you with their experience.

          • ridiculousness | November 13, 2015 at 9:17 pm |

Hence the reason why, sadly, it doesn’t matter if there’s too much radiation now, or if we’re still approaching the tipping point, so really the level of current radiation isn’t even the issue. The issue is, we refuse to fix it, or even acknowledge there’s a problem. Can’t fix a problem that you pretend doesn’t exist, and it’s easy to deny it when you can’t feel or see it.

          • ” The Japanese themselves have said that over 1 million children will die ..”

I always get a kick out of what might conceivably possibly remotely be called “a sweeping generalization”. It makes arguments so funny to read. Perhaps narrowing that down a tad from “the Japanese” might make your argument a little more serious. There are 130 million Japanese. I live here. I haven’t heard them ALL say that. Not at the grocery store, not my neighbors and friends. Who “said” what, and when and where and in what context are appropriate instead of this giggledy statement. Not saying somebody didn’t say that, but that’s how a kid argues.
            Just a suggestion. That’s all.

            // Bad grammar kills.
            // “Let’s eat Grandma”

Andross like so many others gets to vote. Scary! But it does explain some of the politicians we have and how they stay in power. They have captured the “Nut Vote.”

        • Pretty much along the lines of what I said. Only a complete failure would believe elections are not rigged and that your vote will count.

        • Sounds like you’d feel a lot “safer” if people you disagree with or believe to be crazy couldn’t vote. I think various people thought the same thing throughout history: Josef Stalin, Chairman Mao, etc.

  9. I dont think id say Russia has been sabre rattling exactly. During the US commenced coup in the Ukraine and the support of neo nazis attacking eastern regions, Mr Putin had to ‘remind the US/nato aggressors that they were a nuclear power still’. This was to warn them not to do anything too silly on Russia’s doorstep. The press have been slandering Mr Putin whom i may add has acted with remarkable restraint considering the wests’ war mongering stance. Moreover, i would not be surprised if Russia could obliterate europe and the USA at a moments notice whilst China would probably obliterate themselves by accident!

  10. So the Trident has “stop & hover & start again” technology? Hmmm… Really?
    Because that’s what this so-called missile did…
I call bullshit on the missile launch excuse…

  11. OOPS, wrong button!!!!!

  12. Ummmm. Not sure why people would find this launch disturbing.

Yea I’m glad that they are showing some muscles at LAST!!!
With this current administration I was beginning to think our military had been dissembled and had no balls at all!

Those who put their head in the sand and actually think that all the treaties and holding hands singing cumbiya is going to work are retarded!

  13. A dying empire you say. Isn’t this reminiscent of the show of force used by Teddy Roosevelt when he sent the “White Fleet” around the world over a hundred years ago? At the time we were an emerging power on the world stage. Our present Commander in Chief has done everything he can to make us look weak so I’m glad to see a show of strength especially when Russia and China are actively rattling their sabars.

  14. Nothing about these tests, isn’t NORMAL . . . the “Pt. Maggo” Missile Test Range, is where the “Majority” of such tests are conducted. Its been going on, since the 1950’s . . .

  15. I swear I saw Slim Pickins riding it going “yeehaw yeehaw… toe to toe with the Rooskies”. Ok, I’ve completely befuddled our younger readers….

  16. Much of the comments I read below prompts me to write the following knowing that it will not persuade liberals to look more carefully at what is happening to our world. but it should. Perhaps you haven’t been on it long enough. In case you haven’t noticed, our way of life is de-materializing. Crime is rampart, One scandal after another pops up. Why? There are many reasons, but the loss of morality is one reason. If you examine the history of society you will notice that no country, kingdom or Government has lasted more than 300 years. Invariably as morals deteriorate so does the society. You can lambaste the “Right” all you want but they are the only ones keeping our society together and when they have become a small minority you can watch America turn into a socialistic country…or worse.

  17. Another of OBozo’s Red line for Russia and China??,……hahahahaha,……..this buffoon doesn’t even scare the crows!!,…..

  18. Well. You sure put me in my place. I’m going to go sit in my chair. In the corner. For a ½ hour. Right now. I feel more like I do now than I did before. A lot.

Just consider using specifics when making a point is all I was suggesting. That’s all. And that was relevant to the forum topic and participation.
