4.5 Exciting Stars!!

“Sometimes you have to battle a storm before you can find your calm”

What an exciting conclusion to The Empire Chronicles!! Follow Jared and Vera on the journey of a lifetime where nothing is at it seems. Jared is on a mission to find his mother and the last thing he expected was to find himself in a time veil. Now, armed with the realization that he is in the past, Jared must find a way to get himself home before any of the past could be changed. One small change could have a very big impact. As if the time veil wasn’t enough to worry about, Vera showing up in the past adds more confusion to the situation. The stakes are high and it will be a race against time to find a way back home…..

What an exciting ride! Storm takes you on one heck of a ride and will have you waiting in anticipation for what will happen next. Just when you think you’ve got things figured out, you’ll be thrown another curve-ball that will leaving you asking questions. Storm was entertaining and intoxicating. It captivated me from the very beginning and had me wanting to know more. Jared and Vera were an exciting treat as always.

One of the things I really enjoyed about this series was how all the stories connected. When The Empire Chronicles first started out, it was Toby and Cassie’s story and by the third book, it was more Jared’s story and we got Vera. So, in this final book, I loved seeing how everything came together. I loved re-visiting parts of The Crescent Chronicles again and getting to see Levi and Owen. I loved seeing how both series’ collided together and gave for a really great ending!

I can’t say anything else about this book, because I don’t want to spoil anything. However, I will say this: Storm is an excellent addition to this series. There is action, romance, drama and delicious twist and turns. There is never a dull moment and you are given a very satisfying ending. Once again, Alyssa Rose Ivy has given me an amazing paranormal romance and I can not wait to see what adventure she will take me on next!

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review, I was in no way compensated for this review.

Storm is the final book in Alyssa Rose Ivy’s Empire Chronicles series, and it was one I quite enjoyed! Jared was a character that took some getting used to, but pretty much after Allie and Levi got together, he started to grow on me. So I guess it wasn’t long before I started rooting for him when this spinoff series started. Though, it wasn’t to be with Casey, as we saw in the first book, it was just to find his own happiness, and that he does.

When Storm starts, Jared finds himself waking up in his old room, his very, very old room that was in the apartment he shared with Levi and Owen. Jared has somehow gone back in time to before Levi and Allie met. There does get a little bit of complexities when it comes to the “time-traveling” notion, as the past he’s in, is only a possible version of the past…it does get explained better than I can put into words, but basically as long as Jared can get himself out of this past and back to his own present, whatever mistakes he make here won’t effect his future.

It’s not long before Vera joins him, when she tries to wake Jared with a kiss, he somehow pulls her into this past world. For in their own time, Jared and Vera appear to be deeply asleep.

Jared and Vera have a lot on their plate with trying to get back to their own time, but Jared is also trying to figure out a way to rescue his mom. Then there’s Tiffany to deal with, who’s also in this version of the past and trying to muck things up. Such as preventing Allie and Levi from ever meeting, though if Jared doesn’t find a way to get back to the present and destroy this version of the past, it will lead into an unknown future. So there’s definitely a lot of tension going on in this one as Vera and Jared race to figure out how to go about doing things. And can I just still say, how blown away I am that Tiffany turned out to be an evil b…witch?! Lol. I had really liked her character initially, but then she had to turn out to be an evil witch in disguise.

It was kind of fun in a way, because we get to see how all the characters were from wayyy back in the beginning of Flight. Toby is back to being a persistent ass in trying to get Allie back, Levi has his haughty attitude back in full…and yet Jared is still his newly matured and grown self. It makes for interesting developments for sure. Owen, sadly, just seemed not to really be present. I mean he’s there, but it’s possible he was dealing with the aftermath of leaving Daisy. He was just very melancholy.

I have very much enjoyed watching Jared mature. He’s no longer that playboy from when we first met him. A lot has changed him. I love seeing him with Vera because those two are pretty much perfect for one another. Their chemistry is definitely swoon worthy on the pages.

While I had initially heard that this was the last book in the Empire Chronicles portion of the Chronicles world series at large, there is a bit of a cliffhanger. Or more like fodder for another story, one that would have to involve Jared somehow, and then Vera by proxy. But I have yet to hear of any details yet. It’s also possible that issue might pop up in Daisy and Owen’s story since it’s of the same world. Only time will tell I guess, unless I go bug Alyssa about it! ;)

"Clearly the magic has been awakened."

Storm is book 5 in the Empire Chronicles Series. As readers, we find ourselves back where it all began. But, this time things are different and it will take a village to set things straight.

"Take me for a ride baby."

A ride is exactly what Storm afforded me. Fun, fast, and full of surprises, Storm reintroduced some of my favorite book characters in a new and interesting light, with a twist, and also offered some new and unique characters. Jared and Vera were the guides throughout each page of the book, and getting their perspective on past, present, and future happenings was very interesting. I have loved this series, so when I first read the synopsis of Storm, for the slightest moment, I had concerns. In order to take an already well-written story that is loved by readers and manipulate it, it must be done with precision and must assure that character qualities will remain intact. Author Alyssa Rose Ivy absolutely succeeded in making me fall more in love with the story than I had in its original writing, and brought an HEA that was much needed for a fan of the Chronicles.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Whew! This series really took me places. Seriously! Even back in time. Jared has been my favorite from the beginning, so I'm so happy he's met his match in Vera. Vera is a female version of Jared, so watching their relationship grow with all the bantering and chemistry has been a lot of fun. This book takes us back in time to just before Levi and Allie meet. So, there's that chance they don't meet at all this time around. Yikes! How would that change things? I don't want to give too much away, but much can go wrong if the past is altered, much can go right too. I think I've said this before, but if I haven't, this series is a must read, and I highly recommend you starting from the very beginning with the Crescent Chronicles. These books are just that good.

The ARC of Storm by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Wow Storm was incredible, I loved how Alyssa did this one it was very clever, I normally find going back in time can be confusing, but the way this was done it was brilliant. It made this final book for Jared and Vera even more outstanding and so tense it was thrilling . I wasn't sure how Alyssa would end this series but I was not disappointed.

As things weren't bad enough for Jared already, finding out now that his mums a witch, like what, you're joking, I mean really how much more messed up can Jareds family be, and well that just hit the nail on the head. But now he has woken up, back in time by a year. We are literally taken through flight Book 1 again, but what if Levi never met Allie. The thing is if these things change they will stay that way forever, and Jared will be stuck in this time veil with the consequences.

"𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣." 𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧. "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.

This was such an interesting read, like you knew how things worked before in Flight book one and now going back before any of this happened was so weird, but interesting to see how it could have all worked out, and wow trust it was not good. Seeing all the old characters back to their hated ways again, being enemies, because they didn't know each was so frustrating lol, I was sitting there going come on, you guys are best friends lol. With old enemies lurking around to make everything harder for Jared things get ugly real fast.

Overall, it was an awesome read. I loved meeting the new characters and how it was all joined together, it was very well done. An amazing ending to an incredible series. I actually think (The Empire Chronicles) was my favourite series out of all her books, I was really sad to have finished it. This was everything I loved in a paranormal romance.

Very short, but good read. I do dislike it though, when a 'super bad guy' that has taken up five books now ... is taken out with something so very simple. You figure a super bad guy would put up a way bigger fight and things would be wayyyyy crazy/hard, etc... but with a flick of a wrist they're gone? I just can't stand those easy way outs thats why it loses two stars. Otherwise, a fun read.

Summary

This book was very different than the previous in the series, but not a let down. It had parts of all of the other book all converted into one, without making you read them all over again. I have to say, definitely worth the wait.

Once again Alyssa has delivered us another wonderful story to add to her tangled web of characters that make up the Empire Chronicles and her other series. Storm is the final book in Alyssa’s Empire Chronicles that features Jared and Vera. As usual, I highly recommend that you start Alyssa’s paranormal series from the very beginning with Crescent Chronicles. However, you can start this story at the beginning of Empire Chronicles and still catch on quickly, but you’d be missing out on some of the back story.

In Storm, we find Jared and Vera on the way to figuring out what the mastermind Tiffany has up her evil sleeves. Jared and Vera, once again, are thrust into danger and expand even more information that makes up Alyssa’s paranormal world opening up many more doors and possibilities of future spinoffs or at least I hope! In Storm we get a softer, more caring side of Jared. After having fallen head over heals in love with Vera, Jared isn’t the same player he once was. He is older, wiser, and smarter than ever before. Sure, he is still cocky and confident, but I truly enjoyed seeing him lean on Vera for support. They are an exceptional team.

Alyssa never fails to give you a wonderful story that twists, turns, weaves itself into new possibilities in an ever growing paranormal realm she’s created for your entertainment. Alyssa is one of those authors that you crave the next installment of the series or pray for a new spinoff from. She continually provides wonderfully written, extremely well thought out and unbelievably accurate stories ( she never forgets a detail) that come to life. I have truly enjoy reading the Empire Chronicles and am so sorry to see it end. However, I know Alyssa must have something up her sleeve for us next! Tune in!

I finally got up the nerve to review this book. Not because it was bad, but because of the closure. Gahhh! How I love my Jared and Vera.

Storm brought many storms with it. This book had many twists and turns that often times left me speechless and scratching my head. I mean, the things that went on were beyond what I had imagined. I loved how Alyssa was able to take the plot of Storm and use it to remind me of why I fell in love with all the characters in the Chronicles. It is almost hard to write a review without spoilers or saying too much.

Jared and Vera embark on a journey like no other and endure challenging test, leading to ultimate trust. Both characters have exemplified great maturity within the period we have known them. In my opinion, they have the ultimate bond.

In Storm, we get more back story on Vera and her relationship with her family. Such great info on why she is the way she is and how she relates to situations. With that, we also receive similar information on Jared's relationship with his family, more specifically his mother and the role she played in his life. Again, I cannot say much without giving spoilers.

In ARI fashion, I laughed hysterically, and cried until my eyes were red. I mean, it would not be an ARI book if those emotions were not present.

STORM was truly a great book and served the characters well as the Empire Chronicles ended. I am hoping as the other books continue to unfold that I will be seeing my favorite Bad Boy Pteron and Feisty Diva Bear Vera in the near future!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

Man, Alyssa Rose Ivy has done it again. This was my favourite book of the series. I loved how great Vera and Jared are together. At the end of book 4 Levi tells Jared that his mum isn’t a human she’s actually a witch so he’s part Worlock. After using a paste made with Origin crystals Jared’s powers seem to have been awakened and with the help of his mum he ends up in a veil and Vera kisses him and ends up in the time veil with him. They both have to work together to try and make sure Levi meets Allie and to work out why Jared’s mum created the veil in the first place. I loved how close Jared and Vera are in this book and how well they work together. I liked the storyline but would’ve loved for the book to have had more time when Jared and Vera erased the veil as it dragged on a bit and there were only a few chapters in their current timeline and fought Tiffany but I still really enjoyed this book. I loved how Jared came into his own and both him and Vera grew to be the people they were meant to be and to forgive themselves for what they’ve done in the past. Like Jared being a complete a*sehole manwh*re and Vera leaving her family without saying goodbye but especially leaving her sister Casey. I really wished that Jared got more time with his mum after everything he’d gone through in finding her. I loved meeting Cleo and her daughter Anastasia and hopefully she gets to experience more of the world with Vera’s help. I’m hoping we get more of them in the future. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

Storm by Alyssa Rose Ivy
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
I get so excited when I get receive a book form Alyssa. Unfortunately I was super busy with work, holidays and then sick kiddos so when I finally got the chance to sit down and read Jared, I devoured him in one sitting!! This book I was really excited to read because of all the new information we got abut Jared and his heritage in the last book…….HELLO A Warlock!!
So this book was not really what I was expecting. Jared and Vera get stuck in a Veil AKA Witch Alternative Universe kinda thing. Jared has no clue how or why he is stuck and how to get out. We soon learn that Levi and Allie’s meeting maybe at stake if they don’t get out and get out quick. The book had a different look at how Levi and Allie meet plus we get to see Good Old Evil Witch Tiffany doing what she does best….ruining lives.
What I liked about the book best was seeing Jared and Vera working as a team totally. They finally admit their love for each other which is a good thing since they are mated according to her family. I also loved seeing a grown up Jared. He now realizes how important every little detail in his life is and how one little thing can change it all.

Vera and Jared

Jared find themselves in a veil, some sort of magical time machine. They end up about a year or so in the past just before Levi and Allie meet. Jared and Vera are in the veil for about 75% of the book. The book starts off with happy romance and then, bam!, you're in a battle on Norso with witches. The romance is sweet between the two throughout the book.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. It is obviously a must read if you read the previous ones in the series. I was frustrated at the ending.

****Spoilers, all the way to the end!****

I think they were in the veil too long. It started to drag a little in the middle with all the roadblocks. When they get out of the veil they are back in reality for a short time before the book ends. I wish there was more interacting between Jared and his mother. Maybe more than a sentence or two would have been nice.

Jared had a lot of power that he barely just started using in the book before it ended. I would have liked to see more of it.

What happened to Cleo and Anastasia? Will they be back? Why were Taliana (i?) and Gareth there? What happened to his mom at the end of the story? She just up and left without any explanation as to what/why it happened. There were too many questions left unanswered at the end!

This book was in dual POVs with good editing.

Big thanks to Alyssa for an ARC copy for review.

The conclusion to Jared and Vera's story was absolutely fantastic. And I will never ever grow tired of the Pteron boys. I loved how Alyssa added the alternate reality into the plot because that made things mighty interesting.

interesting photo: interesting interesting.gif

All of the questions of WHAT IF? are brought to the fore front and it really makes the reader ponder. There is also new and surprising information on Jared's long lost mother that is finally revealed, especially about what she really is. Thank goodness she is the total opposite of Jared's father and she really loves her sons.

Now when it comes to Jared and Vera's relationship, I have shipped this couple since their first unforgettable meeting and in Storm you see just how right for each other they are. Their amazing chemistry speaks volumes. Since this the end of Jared and Vera's journey everything is tied together very well and there are no loose ends or cliffhangers that Alyssa is well known for. The last chapter definitely had me smiling.

What a TWIST!!!! I'm going to admit, I didn't even read the blurb. I had no idea what to expect. I didn't care, either, because HELLO!!! JARED! So, when I started reading I was like, "WTH?!"

Alyssa, you treaded into some dangerous territory.... messing with beloved characters and stories is shaky ground, especially with the die-hard fans you have. But in the end, omg in the end you own this world, and you did such a fantastic job!

I got more Jared (you know I was happy about that) and I got more Vera (love that girl something fierce), but the cool part was watching them grow together, even though their typical reactions *would* have been to separate and go it alone. Instead, they banded together, they grew as a pairing, and they kicked ass!

This is so, SO, hard to talk about without giving away a bunch of stuff, so I'm going with....

Quick & Dirty:
- Alyssa's world is well defined, her characters are multi-dimensional, and her ability to surprise readers is one to envy

- Jared and Vera both get the opportunity to evolve, and it is incredibly easy to forget they aren't real, even with the whole "shape shifting" thing

- We get to see beloved characters and have our world spun on its axis in the process

- Storm is fast-paced, witty, and fun

I was given an advance copy of STORM in exchange for an honest review, and honest it is. My impressions and response to this book are true, and my recommendation is sincere.

WOW! What an imaginative and intriguing storyline. Author Alyssa Rose Ivy has taken an expected plot and turned it upside down in a most unexpected way. This is only a part of what makes this book so fascinating.

The way in which Jared and Vera’s relationship grows is wonderfully satisfying. The knowledge they gain is truly enlightening, and the chance to reconnect with those they love is so moving.

Mrs. Ivy takes me on a wonderful journey to find the truth that she hides just below the surface. Throughout the journey, she gives me moments of laughter as she infuses sarcasm and snarky remarks. At the end of the adventure, she brings tears to my eyes as well as happiness to my soul.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book and this series. 5 stars

Well I can honestly say that this is my favourite book so far. I have to say I was not really a lover of Jared at all from the beginning I just think he came across as a complete ass and I was more looking forward to Owen a story but Jared has surprised me in the best possible way and I love every minute of it.

I loved how Vera and Jared just got each other and the banter they could have. How she made him a better man and how she gave him strength by just one touch. I also loved how we got to see another side to him one that he didn't like to show... vulnerability but also that he is strong and intelligent and so much better than his father ever was. He will be a good leader on Norco.

I hope that there is more to come as I feel there is a story to be told about his brother and Hailey needs her mate

ARC given by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I love all ARIs books. The characters are real and even though the story is paranormal it still feel realistic. And that's what always gets me. Every single time.

In here all the fight that Jared and Vera were forced to face is coming to an end (but is it always? With ARI you never know what will happen next). The book is just makes you feel so many emotions, feelings. You are crying, laughing, feeling pain and everything they feel you feel with them. All their hardships become your hardships. And that's beautiful.

Alyssa always creates a book with so many twists and turns that with every page turns you are gasping. Simply Amazing.

I recommend any of Alyssa's books but this series is just the best. And with Jared being so hot you will never be bored with him ;)

Wow! This book (like all of Alyssa's books) I had a hard time putting down. I loved how we went back in time to when Levi and Ali first met. I loved how Jared saw how much he has grown in such a little time. The ending was so sweet! This whole book was so intense I just had to keep reading to know what would happen. This one is by far my favorite. I highly recommend reading this series. I hope to read more of these Characters. So sad that this series is over but such an amazing story. Thank you Alyssa for another great series!

I believe every book that Ayssa rose ivy has written I have loved! I can't say I haven't loved any of her book this one included. Jarad surprised me in this book as he was always portrayed as such a player I mean that ending! I was truly not expecting that! And to think this all started with Levi and Allie story! It has been truly amazing that in every crescent chronicals series that she has written the characters and worlds all seem to be connected in some way that is so unique. I'm going to keep on enjoying this author's books.

I don't blame Vera f wanting her man to keep his wings out, hell I'm right there with her, “please keep them out,” she whispered against my neck as she continued to stroke my wing. Her other hand moved down between our bodies. She took me in her hand." I'm sad to see this series end, I loved these characters to much, but I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

$3.99 and it was shorter than most of her books. A little much for a novella.
I don't know. It felt so rushed. The whole veil idea sounded interesting, but I was hoping for a big "that's the reason!" for it to happen.
It just kind of got erased. Or I missed something. I don't know. I was hoping for more I guess.
