It's hard to shock New Yorkers, but in a city with absurdly-priced real estate, it's reassuring to know that a $100 million apartment sale has the power to make jaws drop.

The apartment in question comprises the 89th and 90th floors at One57, a new building at 157 West 57th Street. Views of Central Park, rosewood floors and Italian marble baths are among the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom, 11,000-square-foot property's features, along with the knowledge that you have broken the record for the city's most expensive single-family home (the buyer spent $100.47 million, to be exact).

The new record might not stand for long, though -- the penthouse at 520 Park Ave. is expected to go on the market later this year for $130 million.
