ANGLETON — For generations, Sonnen Ranch has been a place for raising livestock — where animals, though treated humanely, were destined to be used for meat or dairy products. Now, after several rounds of fundraising, the ranch has been transformed into Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, a safe haven for farm animals, allowing the creatures to live out their lives without distress.

The sanctuary’s development was the brainchild of Renee King-Sonnen, who moved to the ranch when she and Thomas Sonnen remarried.

The Facts?? The Sonnen Ranch has not been raising livestock for generations. Fifteen years does not equal generations. Renee King-Sonnen has shared this story so she is aware of the error. Why has she not corrected you? Because it makes for a better story? Indeed, this is all a story, created by Renee and repeated by many. One day a true journalist will write the true story. Ian, are you interested in writing "The Facts"? There are many holes in this fairy tale that just a little bit of digging can uncover.

Lemme get this straight. You marry into a ranching family. Decide you don't like the process. Force them to get out of the business? Sad, sad, world we live in today. Do you ever give him his manhood out of your purse and let him out of the house? Plumb pitiful.....
