Drew pulls away, stops Bard 16-7

MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University men's lacrosse team broke open a close game with 10 straight goals en route to a 16-7 non-league over Bard College on Wednesday night.

It was 2-2 after the first quarter, but Drew (1-5) outscored Bard (2-4) 11-2 over the second and third quarters to win going away.

The Raptors were done in by a season-high 30 turnovers. They also had eight penalties and the Rangers went 3-for-8 when a man up.

Drew outshot Bard, 46-25, and had the edge in ground balls, 36-27. Freshman Harry Rice (River Edge, NJ) led the winners with four goals and two assists. Sophomore Ben Ludeman (Portland, OR) added three goals.

For Bard, Henry Blosfelds scored three times, John Palermo scored twice, and single goals came from Emmet O'Connell and Harrison Mauldin. John Henry Glascock made 10 saves.

It's not going to get any easier this weekend. Second-ranked Rochester Institute of Technology is next on the schedule. That Liberty League game will be played on Saturday at noon at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, N.Y. You can follow it via Live Stats.
