5 Words: friendship, lies, love, blackmail, secrets.

This was a pretty love hate read for me. First, I judged by the cover and had set my own expectations and I was very pleasantly surprised at how the story was panning out, then I was getting horrendously frustrated with the characters, then I was loving the tension, then I was hating the lies, then I was happy with the ending... Yeah, pretty up and down.

But my frustration was a good thing, I'm pretty sure it's what the author wanted you to feel.

And there were characters to love and hate, characters who challenged your perceptions and ideals, especially around the themes of friendship and love.

Although the lies weren't my cup of tea, it wouldn't have been much of a story without them. I guess the story has a bit of a moral theme running behind it about lies and secrecy. And compromise.

Overall I enjoyed this, it was entertaining and made me smile quite a bit.

Wavering between 3 and 3.5 stars...

Becca is a junior in high school, as is her BFF Tori and Tori’s twin brother, Toby. Becca has known the twins for more then ten years, and has been best friends with Tori nearly that long. She’s grown up with Toby and can’t help appreciating all the ways he has grown up, too. Toby’s a fit boy, captain of the basketball team and an all-around popular kid. He’s always been nice to Becca and Becca has a secret crush–one that she can never reveal to Tori, because Tori will dissolve their friendship. It’s happened before with other girls. Plus, Toby’s popular and Becca’s not–he’d never go for her…

Then, Becca’s risking failure in trig, and Tori insists that Toby help Becca out. It’s heady, being alone with him, even if it is to study trig. But that not all that’s happening behind Toby’s closed bedroom door. Nope. He’s admitting to having feelings, and they decide to “try out” dating in order to see if it’s worth upsetting Tori over. They keep it behind closed doors, but Tori’s suspicious of Toby’s excellent mood, and Toby’s ex-girlfriend Meredith is ALWAYS turning up to cajole Toby back. Well, until Meredith learns that Toby and Becca are together. She’s had a mean streak over Becca for years, and seizes the opportunity to hurt Becca while also getting Toby back.

This is a high-stakes high school romance that is pretty clean. I really liked both Becca and Toby, who want to find a real connection without the interference of sisters and exes and best friends, but it’s just not meant to be! Tori and Meredith are not nice girls, in this book. Meredith is the worst kind of conniver, and is set up to be the truly bad guy, but Becca makes plenty of dumb decisions, like going along with Meredith’s mean spirited plans. At first.

Toby’s caught in the crossfire. He’d happily reveal all, and see if he and Becca can withstand the pressure, but he caves to Becca’s needs–Tori isn’t just her best friend, she’s her only real friend. Losing Tori is not an option, at least, until the decision is taken from her.

I really did like the high school cattiness, to an extent, because it was so high school drama. That felt painfully real, but it carried on a bit long for me, and the resolution was super dramatic, with an auditorium reveal that is straight out of a sit-com. Meredith’s ultimatums were a tad too mean-spirited and hinted at illegal. That said, there were plenty of real emotions of the page. Becca never wants to hurt anyone, and FINALLY that included herself. I loved when she got over her self-sacrificing for Tori and began living her own life; it made the final pages much better, for me. I liked that Toby was a good, human, kid. He’s not perfect, doesn’t pretend to be, but he acts maturely throughout. He’s a good boyfriend to Becca, and a good brother to Tori–who is a spoiled rotten queen of a girl who only wants more social power. I really didn’t care much for her until the very end, and then only a little.

4 Math Books
I was a little nervous about reading this book. I love sex is books, but call me a prude, I don’t like High School sex in books. No, I am not naive, I know that high school kids have sex. Let us just call that my soft limit. Kid sex doesn’t float my boat.

Our Little Secret did not cross the line. Ashelyn Drake, has written a story about young love and friendship that we can all relate to. A mom approved book that a young adult can read.

Becca and Tori are best friends, they have been forever. Tori only has one rule, don’t date her twin brother. Don’t even be friends with her twin brother. So when Tori suggests that Becca asks her brother, Toby to tutor her in math, Becca is surprised and a little leery. Becca has had a crush on Toby for the last three years. Toby has his own crush on Becca making this study arrangement a lesson in deception and secrets.

I did enjoy this book, yes sex was mentioned, but we don’t have to read the act being performed. There is the petty cliques and the need to fit in. Supportive parents and even a hard to please teacher.

And it's about friendship, too. I just... I really liked it.

Our Little Secret centers around the love story between Becca and Toby, who have been friends for years. The only problem is Toby's twin sister is Becca's best friend, Tori. Tori has a strict "no dating my friends" policy for her brother and Becca knows if Tori finds out, she'll lose her as a friend forever. Ashelyn does an amazing job of setting up the conflict here, as well as making us really care about Becca and Toby. Toby is actually one of the best male characters I've read in a YA romance. He's sweet and funny and perfect! I highly recommend this one for your next YA fix.

I thought that this was a really cute story and is fitting for the young adults as well. I love how Ashelyn Drake made you fall in love with the characters and feel like you were a part of their everyday lives. This story flowed so well and kept you wondering what was going to happen with Toby and Becca.

When we first meet everyone in the story, they are all friends that go to school together. Tori and Toby are twins. Becca is best friends with them. Meredith is the evil spoiled little rich kid that is popular and gets what she wants or she throws a fit. Rebel is Toby's best friend that ends up dating his sister. Becca and Tori are inseparable and spend all the time that they can together, until Tori starts dating Rebel and then all her time goes to him.

Toby and Becca have been friends for as long as they can remember and have never looked at each other as anything more. When Becca starts having trouble in one of her classes, Toby tutors her and things start to click with Toby and Becca. Becca knows that Tori, her best friend, will not like the idea of her dating her brother so they keep their feelings at bay for awhile. As the tutoring progresses, so does their feelings for each other. Eventually, Becca is up to speed with her class and doesn't need the tutoring anymore, but she still spends the 2 hours with Toby, but with other things on her mind.

Meredith is worried about what her reputations will look like if others in the school find out about Toby breaking up with her instead of the other way around so she makes Toby and Becca go along with one of her little wicked plans that honestly brings Becca and Toby closer in my opinion. Meredith is not over Toby and she wants to do what she can to get back at him and ruin his reputation to save hers. Tori never lets on that she knows about Becca and Toby if she even does. Tori thinks that Meredith and her brother are a good couple, until she sees the real side of Meredith.

On Tori and Toby's birthday, Becca helps to throw a surprise birthday party for Tori. She and Toby have worked hard on getting everything in place and making it a night to remember for Tori. Becca and Toby never expected for Tori to walk in on the two of them making out in Toby's bedroom. This causes great turmoil in Becca and Tori's friendship. You need to read this book to see how everything ends because I don't want to give it away. I really enjoyed this sweet story and I am anxious to see what Ashelyn Drake has in store for us as readers!!

This is a super cute and fast paced read. I couldn't put it down. It's basic high school drama at it's best. Some want to be popular and will do anything to get it. Others just want to be in love.

The basics of this story are you have a set of boy/girl twins. You have the best friend of Tori the girl twin, Becca, who's been secretly in love with Toby - the boy twin. The twins don't share anything though and Tori is a little possessive. She has her right to be, she's been hurt by plenty of her peers before and doesn't want to end up that way again. Although I got her pain, I still wasn't in love with her. Becca I did love, although I wish she didn't take all the blame. She's that friend anyone would want, putting others needs before her own, ALWAYS. Toby is cute. He's your boy next door adorable guy who plays sports, is smart, and plays the guitar.

When Becca finally admits her feelings she's elated, but she risks losing her best friend over the fact that she is in love with her brother.

You can't go wrong with this quick and quirky high school romance. It felt like I was stepping back into school and could remember all the different groups and how some girls were awful. I also remember first love and hoping it would last forever.

A Great Angsty YA Read
This book was a really terrific read, the author has done a brilliant job with everything, the writing is awesome, the plot is thick, sweet, full of angst and drama, complicated and very well laid out. The characters are so very real and relatable, you can't help but to feel for them, with them. Becca is a sweet girl and has had a crush on the forbidden Toby and Toby is also a pretty sweet and funny guy. As the two try to be together in secret, the secrets and lies build and build. Will Toby and Becca get to be together without losing Toby's sister and Becca's best friend? Or will they be crushed by all of the lies. What will happen if and when their secret is exposed? Have a read and find out. I definitely recommend this book, perfect not only for young adults, but also anyone who enjoys a good YA book, and an angst ridden romance. I was given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

This book took me right back to my teenage years. High School drama at its finest.

You have all the perfect elements of a coming of age story.
Becca is the sweet innocent girl with a secret crush on her best friends twin brother.
Toby is the popular jock who has no trouble getting a girl.
Tori is the girl living in her brothers shadow.
Meredith is the snobby jealous ex who can't let the boy go.
Throw all them together and you have lots of teenage drama & angst. Loved it!!

Such a sweet read.

Toby is a great character and Ashley made it easy to fall in love with him. I wanted to smack Tori right along with Meredith because I was so caught up with the drama I felt like I lived it with them. Nicely done

I need to stop reading books with teenaged main characters. I teach in a high school and understand how big of an issue bullying is, however, this whole afraid to tell Tori situation is just silly. Without saying too much, although you can probably guess how it all plays out, it was a bit too much for me.

* This semi-ranty review may contain spoilers. Read on at your own risk. *

Now anyone who knows me or reads my reviews knows I never talk badly about books. Everyone has their own opinions, but I try to always be very cognizant of others and their feelings. But this book and I DID NOT get along. At all. So as you can imagine, this is a very difficult review for me to write. But I just have to get my feelings out there. I mean, what good is our reviews if we aren't critical? We can't love ALL the books, right? I'm sure there are lots of people that would really enjoy this one. Sadly, I wasn't one of them.

My reading of this book went basically like this:

whatthewhat

I just couldn't grasp what was going on with this group. We have Becca, who is best friend's with Tori. Then we have Tori's twin brother, Toby. Well, these three have been besties most of their life, but for some reason all of a sudden Becca is infatuated with Toby. And guess what... he likes her too!! I'm not sure why all of a sudden after all these years these two finally became attracted to each other, but they did. And then they start studying together, which turns to dating/hooking up behind Tori's back. They use the tutoring as an excuse for why they're spending so much time together.

What I Didn't Like:

The toxic friendship between Becca and Tori. I just couldn't understand why these two were still friends after all this time. They did NOT make a good pair.
The constant "what's wrong?" and "you seem different today." from Tori to Becca. Apparently Becca was acting different as she stared obsessively at Toby 24 hours a day. Again, something that just came out of nowhere, though they've been friends for many, many years.
ALL THE LIES. It was excessive, to the point of being infuriating.

What I Liked:

The beautiful cover! ♥

I don't know... the overall synopsis sounded pretty interesting to me. I tend to really enjoy this type of story, plus I've really enjoyed other work by Ashelyn Drake, so I had such high hopes for this one. But basically, I just couldn't get my head around what the heck was going on. Most of the story I just stared at the book like...

whatishappening2

I absolutely despised the friendship between Becca and Tori. It was so toxic and I couldn't understand why they were still friends after all this time. When it came to Becca's BFF Tori, I was constantly all...

whatdidyousay

Overall, this book and I just did NOT get along. When it ended, I put it down and just stared into space.

wow

Yeah.

Soooo, I guess I'll stop ranting now. It's just one of those books that I wish I didn't read. And it actually pains me to have to review it so negatively. I feel terrible. If this book sounds like something you'd be interested in reading, please check out other reviews around since I'm sure there are lots of fans. Don't just take my word for it. We all have different opinions, and that's what makes what we do so wonderful. Right? :)

Remember high school? Maybe some of you are still there. A recap- high school is very clique driven. VERY. This YA romance book captures that situation pretty well.

Becca, the h, has a crush on Toby. Toby is super popular and his sister, Tori, is Becca’s best friend. Toby is an athlete, really good looking and incredibly smart. Becca is normal. Good looking, yes…but not a cheerleader or one of the popular kids. To complicate matters, Tori has a strict “no dating my brother” clause for her friends. And, she’s absolutely fanatical about that rule.

In true YA romance fashion...

Becca admires Toby from afar. They’ve kind of grown up together. But, she’s never ever led him (or Tori) to believe that she’s crushing on him. Girls flock to him. He’s always mobbed by adoring fans.

But then Becca starts really struggling with math. Tori suggests that Toby tutor Becca, as he’s a total math whiz. He agrees to it and let’s guess, does this end up being the most awkward tutoring relationship ever…or perhaps a love match? Bingo. It turns out Toby likes Becca, too. He likes her a lot. They end up kissing and admitting they’re into each other, but they hide it from Tori.

He cocks his head and leans closer to me. His scent fills my head, and it’s so intoxicating. “Forget about Tori for a minute. What do you want?” He reaches forward and brushes his thumb across my bottom lip. My lips part in response, and I lean into him. I know exactly what I want. Him.

His eyes lock on mine as he slowly inches toward my mouth. I know he’s giving me a chance to say no, but I’m not strong enough to stop him twice. His lips press against mine, so lightly. I want to devour him, but I’ve never been kissed like this before. It’s soft, yet passionate. Better than any kiss I’ve ever had. I don’t want it to end, but he pulls back and looks into my eyes again. He doesn’t say a word, just studies my face, waiting for my reaction.

“That was amazing.”

He smiles, but it quickly fades. “But it can’t happen again, right?”

No. It has to happen again. Right now. Please! “I didn’t say that.”

Did I mention Tori is crazy about the “no dating my brother” rule. CRAZY.

Some things happen that make this relationship challenging. It’s a bit spoilerly…so I’ll be careful what I share. Much of it has to do with an ex girlfriend of Toby’s, and then there's Tori’s craziness about her brother’s love life.

This was a sweet clean romance. It reminded me of the stuff I liked and hated about high school. Crushing on a guy, does he like me, what do I do, passing him in the hallway, sneaking a look his way. All of that. But, then there’s the mean girls. And there are always mean girls. I don’t miss that. And unfortunately, mean girls exist at all ages. #SorryToSay

My one criticism is that Tori’s thing about her brother dating her friends was a bit much. I just had a hard time believing that a sister could be so emphatic, zealous even, about that point. It did provide some needed conflict, I get that, but for me it was just too over the top.

I give this new YA romance, Our Little Secret a B. This was a sweet book! I like Toby and Becca and found myself cheering for them.

3-1/2 stars.

This review also appears on Swoony Boys Podcast.

I guess I'm just used to reading more mature YA (that probably borders on New Adult, just not explicit), so I thought this one was kind of immature. When I thought back to what high school was like a million years ago when I was there, I think OLS is authentic to the cattiness and drama of high school. I'm not sure--this is lower young adult age to me for sure. Okay, now that that's out of the way, let's talk about this book.

High school junior Becca Daniels has been best friends with Tori Michaels for pretty much her whole life--and she's been crushing on Tori's twin, Toby, for the last several years. Not only is Toby popular and smart and everything any girl could dream of, he's totally off-limits. Tori has a strict no-dating-my-brother policy, and she's stopped being friends with other girls for violating the rules. Becca is failing math and Toby agrees to tutor her. You know what happens--they fall for each other but have to keep their relationship a secret because Tori will flip when she finds out. Since she's pretty much Becca's only friend, they're not willing fot that to happen. Add to that some crazy stuff going on with Toby's ex, Meredith, and you've got yourself a secret couple who don't know if they can withstand the pressure that surrounds them.

Ah, the drama of high school.

I liked this story and thought that the situation was realistically portrayed. No surprise, I did not like Meredith and could not stand Tori. I don't know why Becca was even friends with her. She was just...ugh. Becca was a doormat and I just wish she had a backbone.

Our Little Secret was a fast-paced read, and I enjoyed the way the story was told. I love when we get to read text messages and stuff like that in books, and that was a cool aspect of this one.

What didn't I like? Besides Tori and Meredith (and at times, Becca), I wanted more with Becca and Toby. Of course, that could go back to what I said before about YA being way racier than it used to be, but I wanted more of that! I also felt like the end was a little too-nicely wrapped up, and there was unnecessary angst that I didn't love. But I guess that's high school.

A quick read with a couple that you'll root for, Our Little Secret by Ashelyn Drake is a great choice if you're looking for a clean, drama-filled high school story.

Our Little Secret is a story about two friends and of course the brother that has the potential to come between him. The premise of the story is cute, Becca and Tori have been friends since they were in diapers. When Becca starts to have feelings for Toby, Tori’s twin, she knows it’s a big no no in Tori’s world. Sometimes you can’t help who you have feelings for and when Toby returns them things get complicated.

Like in life and in most stories it’s always the lies that get you. Becca and Toby start seeing each other in secret because they want to avoid the confrontation with Tori. They figure why ruin a friendship when they aren’t even sure what they have. Although it might seem logical it’s not really a good idea.

Each character has their own individual issues that contribute to their actions. Some are more noticeable when things come out and others you know right off the bat. There is also the drama of the girl who feels like Toby is the guy that got away or was it a trophy boyfriend.

Ashelyn Drake uses a lot of dialogue to tell the story, what I really like is that you get to see the text messages. I don’t why but I always like reading text messages instead of the narrator giving me the rundown of what they say. It makes me more involved in the story.

Becca is really sweet and I really like her character. Tori is kind of that friend that is really pushy but you love them because you know they also your back. Toby has his own skeletons but he comes off as more a playboy to other people.

Becca and Toby’s relationship is cute and I loved reading the parts with them. They had some really adorable moments and of course some pretty normal teenage fights.

I liked Our Little Secret and thought it was really cute coming of age story.

Becca Daniels has been best friends with Tori Michaels forever and she has tolerated Tori's twin brother Toby, The thing is that now they are older , Becca has developed a crush on Toby. The problem is that Tori has forbidden Becca to even having romantic thoughts about her brother and if she was to ever find out then Becca fears that it will be the end of her friendship with Tori. Is a guy worth losing her friendship with Tori - even if the guy is Tori's brother whom you would still have to see every day ? Becca is failing Maths and if she doesn't get a passing grade soon, it's a phone call to her parents - so she gets a tutor in Tori's brother Toby. The pair start studying together and realise that their is really chemistry between the both of them and that they are in love with one another. So begins the "Our Little Secret" as Toby and Becca weave through the beginning of their relationship and leaving Tori in the dark , even if that means lying to Tori about her whereabouts. What will happen though when Tori knows something is up with her brother and decides to stalk him to find out ? What will happen when she discovers that Becca is his mystery girl ? Will this be another case of what happened to Allison as Becca finds out why their threesome became a duo ? Or will Tori finally grow up and realise that Becca doesn't want to lose either of them and that even if she dates Toby, she will still be her friend if Tori will let her.

Our Little Secret was aimed at teens aged 16-18 years and I found it to be more of a High School read for YA than a New Adult as it held alot of the school crushes, friendship dramas and backstabbing spoilt girls who don't get their own way , so they spread lies and cause chaos.

3.5 Stars in my Sky!

Ashelyn Drake really brings out the angst in Our Little Secret. The plot actually reminded me of a teen romcom film (*tweets* Lucy Hale & Ross Lynch).

Becca's had a secret crush on her best friend's twin brother for ages, but girl code means she can never act on her feelings. She also doesn't think Toby aka the most popular guy at school would ever be into her. Tori for her part, is very against any of her friends being around her brother and would never allow Becca to date him...

I liked Becca but I REALLY wanted her to stand up for herself a bit more - Tori bosses her around a lot. Tutoring sessions suddenly allow Becca to spend far more time with Toby, and she realises her interest may not be one-sided after all.

The romance between Toby and Becca is sweet and charming, albeit a little OTT with the angst at times. I obviously wanted them to take a stand against Meredith, but she was a great mean girl.

I know the focus is on Becca's and Tori's friendship, but there were a lot of times when I though Tori was kinda bratty and a bad friend. I couldn't understand why she was so determined to keep Becca and Toby apart. So I did get frustrated with her hypocrisy - BUT then I realised I was thinking about the characters as an adult and not a teenager. As I considered the intensity of these situations as a teen, I started to appreciate Tori's point of view and understood her more. My conclusion is that clearly I'm getting old!

“Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.” The quote is from Sir Walter Scott’s poem Marmion that was published in 1808. Today, it could apply to Author Ashelyn Drake’s novel Our Little Secret. How? I’m glad you asked.

The characters in Our Little Secret might be found in almost any high school today. There’s Toby, the good-looking basketball star, loved by all the girls. His twin sister, Tori, who feels inferior to her popular brother, and who wouldn’t? Becca Daniels, the story narrator, has known the twins all her life. Tori is her best friend. Therein lies the problem. Becca would like to be more to Toby than just a friend. To do so, would ruin her friendship with Tori. Then there’s Meredith, his ex-girlfriend. You see where this tangled web is going? The secret comes in when Toby and Becca start hanging out with each other, the beginning of something more serious, and pretending to Tori that Toby’s just tutoring Becca in trig.

One lie leads to a bigger lie to a bigger lie. Sometimes I was a little aggravated with Toby and felt he should have been honest with his sister. I also understood. Teens do not always make the best decisions. Is Becca willing to give up her friendship with Tori to get the boy of her dreams? And what about Meredith, who’s out for revenge against Toby?

Ashelyn Drake has written a story that most teens can probably relate to. They might even learn a lesson or two about honesty. A fun read with characters that aren’t perfect and make mistakes, like real people. I recommend Our Little Secret for teens and older folks too, who can smile with the memories.

Our Little Secret by Ashelyn Drake is a clean, coming of age young adult read. This book definitely brings you back down to memory lane of junior high/ high school times. The concept of the story is pretty much a straightforward read. A young girl who is in love with her best friend's twin brother and the best friend doesn't want her friend to date her brother. And so when Becca Daniels spends more time with Tori's brother, Toby when she asked him to be her tutor, attractions begins to bloom for the young couple. Being aware that Tori would not like them dating, they begin their secret relationship. So what happens when Tori learns of their secret? Can Becca still hold onto Toby and her friendship with Tori?

While this book is very clean for my taste, it does bring back those high school memories of young teens and what were they thinking moment. This book is pretty much your coming of age book that is perfect for young teens.

Although young adult romances are not my usual read, I did enjoy this sweet story. The characters were spot on and I almost felt like I was back in high school dealing with peer pressure and making bad choices again! lol

Becca is a sweet young girl who has a crush on her best friend's twin brother, but Is too afraid to do anything about it because of how Torie feels about friends dating her brother. When Becca needs tutoring for a math class, Torie enlists the help of her brainiac brother. Falling in love and being torn in two different directions, Becca is faced with a hard choice....her best friend since childhood or the boy she's been in love with for just as long.

Toby is the local basketball hero and one of the most popular guys in school. He's also smart, funny, talented, and every girl's sweetest dream. He's not the relationship type guy but Becca Is not just any girl...she's his "good morning, beautiful" girl.

Torie is Toby's twin sister and Becca's best friend. She's beautiful, sassy, smart, full of life, yet feels second rate to her brother. She has one rule that she's adamant about....no dating her brother or she'll kick you to the curb without batting an eyelash.

Shock full of young love, lies, drama, peer pressure, and jealousy with a pinch of a hateful little wench, reading this book is like getting your hands on the best gossip! Take a read for yourself!

Tori & Becca have been friends for the last 17yrs. Becca has known Toby, Tori's twin brother for just as long. The thing is Becca has had a crush on Toby for years, but has kept her feelings hidden because all Tori has been saying for years is she will not share her friends with Toby or allow them to date him either.

Psst... Toby finally starts reciprocating Becca's feelings and she wants nothing more than to be with him, it's her dream come true! At the same time Becca is torn because the last thing she wants is to hurt/betray her friend Tori's trust but as time goes by their feelings grow more and more and they can't help themselves from sneaking around just for a moment of happiness of being together.

Toby has Becca's emotions & actions bouncing all over the place that she is lost on what to do! Can Toby & Becca make a real go of their relationship?!?! How will Tori handle it once she finds out the two people she loves most have been sneaking around and hiding their relationship from her?!?!

That's not all, there's Trouble on the horizon!!!

Becca can’t stop thinking of Toby. He’s handsome, popular, and athletic. She’s known him for years as the twin brother of her life-long best friend, Tori, who wouldn’t like the idea of them seeing each other. When Becca struggles with math, Toby comes to the rescue by tutoring her.

It turns out Toby has feelings for her, so they decide to have a secret relationship as not to upset Tori. They also want to test the waters to see if this relationship is something solid, or why else get Tori riled up? When Meredith, Toby’s mean-spirited ex-girlfriend, gets wind of this, things become even more interesting.

This book has plenty of high school drama and interesting teen conflicts that make this a fast read. I liked the friendship and romance, but I detested Meredith—she’s one juicy antagonist. If you’re looking for a sweet YA contemporary romance book, this is the one to read.

This book was so sweet and innocent you can't be help but to smile as you read Ashelyn's words.

Our Little Secret is the story about first love. We've all been there and know exactly what it feels exactly what it feels like to be swept away in the innocent romance. When Becca has a secret crush on her best friends twin brother, Toby, she knows that no good can come of this. But she can't help the way she feels and when she fails her exams Toby is recruited to tutor her.

Spending way too many hours unsupervised together, Becca can no longer hide her crush, especially when Toby returns the sentiment.

As the budding romance blossoms so does Becca's fears and insecurities of what will happen when her best friend Tori inevitably finds out the truth.

Ashelyn has done a magnificent job of capturing the fresh face innocence of first love and first heart break.

Drake certainly knows how to pick you up, drop you into someone's life, and make you feel. That's how it was when I read OUR LITTLE SECRET. I felt like I was right there, feeling everything that Becca felt: her feelings for Toby, her nervousness about sneaking around, her anxiety about how her best friend would react. Drake weaves a roller coaster of a romance that will have you biting your nails and rooting for Becca's and Toby's relationship. There are enough twists and turns in this story to keep your head spinning, but in a good way, and the characters are believable and relate-able.

Drake is easily one of my favorite authors. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exciting young adult romance with a good measure of drama swirled in.

This book is amazing!

I've only recently taken an interest reading Romance, and this book has me hooked!

When Becca falls for her best friend's twin brother, she is torn. Tori has a rule: none of my friends can date my brother. Becca agrees to keep the rule until she spends a lot of time with Toby. Who knew that math tutoring could be so much fun?!

When Becca and Toby reveal their feelings to each other, they begin a journey full of secrets.

Can Becca and Tori's friendship survive if Becca and Toby make their relationship public? Will Becca and Toby break up for the sake of Becca and Tori's friendship?

You won't be disappointed!

Becca Daniels knows all about secrets. What started out as an attempt to get a passing math grade, she quickly falls for her best friend's twin, Toby. Torn between her best friend and love interest, Becca finds herself drowning in secrets. And when Toby's ex throws another wrench in the loop, things get really crazy.
This was a great read, with enjoyable characters and exciting plot. This story had so much tension, I hated to put it down. Highly recommended. Can't wait to read more books by this author! And on a side note, I LOVE the cover to this book. It's gorgeous.

The story itself was cute. I loved Toby and Becca's relationship. They were really strong and brave. Their love for each other withstand all the trials thrown at them.
I was a bit bothered and annoyed with Tori. Uhm, like seriously? She's her best friend! She should want her to be happy. BUT NOOOO SHE WENT BXTCHY AND SAID ALL THOSE MEAN THINGS TO BECCA. She wasn't really an ideal best friend tbh. She's selfish in some ways. But, it's a real good thing that Becca didn't give up on her. She's a good best friend. She's nothing but supportive to Tori ever since. I'm glad they made up in the end.
