Maryland State Police responded to a rollover collision involving two tractor-trailers at the 3-mile marker on eastbound Interstate 70 in Hancock on Friday morning, according to a news release.

The tractor-trailer that rolled over on I-70 was carrying corn, which spilled all over the interstate, according to a state police official.

The interstate was closed in that area for several hours as the corn was cleaned off the road, police said. The road reopened around noon.

State police set up a detour route for motorists in the area, where they were able to get off the highway at Exit 77 on I-68 and head east on Md. 144, which is Western Pike in the area, and travel through Hancock before arriving on back I-70 eastbound on the other side of town.
