BRIARCLIFF, NY-
Caitlin McCann tossed a one-hit shutout as the Pace Softball team took home a 5-0 win over the New Haven Chargers in Northeast-10 SW Division Play. The Setters improve to 19-13 overall and 11-7 in the NE-10 SW Division, while the Chargers fall to 14-16 and 7-8 in division play.

The Setters got on the board in the opening inning as
Larissa Labs singled and moved to second on a wild pitch. Labs reached third on a ground out and scored on a passed ball for a 1-0 Pace lead.

Pace added to their lead in the third as
Shelby Yung hit the first of her two solo homeruns on the day. The Setters weren't finished in the inning as Labs and
Nikole Larm drew walks. Both runners advanced a base on a wild pitch and scored on an
Amanda Limon two-run single. Yung hit her second homerun of the afternoon with two outs in the fourth inning.

McCann (8-4) was brilliant on the mound, allowing one hit, no walks, while registering four strikeouts. Yung went 2-for-3 in the game with two RBI and two runs scored, while Labs scored twice. Â

The Setters host Holy Family on Wednesday, April 22 in a non-conference doubleheader at 3 pm on the Pace Briarcliff campus.
