Women's Basketball Announces 2015-16 Slate

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team has announced its slate for the 2015-16 campaign. Oswego's season features 13 home games, including the Max Ziel Tournament, and 18 SUNYAC contests.
 
Tip-off for the Lakers will also be its home-opener, as Clarkson University comes to Max Ziel Gymnasium for a 4 p.m. game on Nov. 14. The squad will remain at home the next weekend, as the Lakers host the Max Ziel Tournament on Nov. 20 and 21. Houghton College and Alvernia University will kick-off the action at 5:30 p.m. before Oswego hosts Wells College at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the consolation game is scheduled for 2 p.m. with the championship tilt to follow.
 
Oswego will then hit the pavement for a four-game road trip. Its first away game of the year will be at the University of Rochester at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 24. On Dec. 1, the Lakers will travel to SUNY Canton for a 6 p.m. battle with the Kangaroos. That weekend will open conference action, starting at Fredonia on Friday evening before facing Buffalo State at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Oswego will the close out 2015 with a home game against Cazenovia College at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 11.
 
After the winter layoff, the Lakers will get back into the swing of things with its final nonconference matchup of the year. They will head to Rochester, N.Y. for a 2 p.m. game the day after New Year's to face Nazareth College. Oswego will then go to Oneonta for a 5:30 p.m. meeting on Jan. 5 with the Red Dragons.
 
At this juncture of the season, the Lakers will play six of seven games on campus, the six games coming from two, three-game home stands. The stretch starts with a mid-week game, as Oswego hosts Brockport at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 12. That weekend, Plattsburgh and Potsdam will come to town, with games at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday, respectively.
 
The two, three-game home spans will be broken up with a road competition against Brockport on Jan. 19. Cortland will visit Oswego next for a 2 p.m. game that Saturday. After taking five days off, Oswego will get New Paltz on Friday and Oneonta on Saturday.
 
In February, Oswego will play eight games, with five being away and three happening at home. A mid-week game at Geneseo opens February, with the Lakers traveling there for a 5:30 p.m. matchup on Feb. 2. The Lakers final home weekend series will take place on Feb. 5 and 6, hosting Fredonia and Buffalo State, respectively.
 
This will give way to a three-game road trip, starting mid-week with New Paltz at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 9. Potsdam and Plattsburgh will round out the trip that weekend. Oswego will then play its final home game, facing the Knights of Geneseo at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 16. The regular season closes on Feb. 19, with the Lakers taking on host Cortland at 5:30 p.m.
 
Postseason action starts with the SUNYAC Championship, with the league's first round being slated for Feb. 23.
