Kate doesn't plan on ever getting a chance to know Dax as more than an unattainable dream. After a mutual friend brings them together, it only takes one ill-fated night at the fight club tear them apart.

70% of the story was of written more of their separate lives and struggles to get to where they both want to be which was a successful career but more so be together. So when they do finally get together it ends. Otherwise good characters and events to read about.
