Yellow Jackets ranked 10th in USTFCCCA Mideast Region

NEW ORLEANS, La. (Sept. 2) – For the first time in program history, the Waynesburg University women's cross country team earned a preseason regional ranking from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The association released its NCAA Division III Preseason Regional Team Rankings on Tuesday, slotting the Yellow Jackets as the number-10 team in the Mideast Region.

Waynesburg concluded last season with a second-place finish at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championships. With a wealth of talent returning, the Yellow Jackets were one of just two PAC teams to receive a place on the preseason regional rankings list. Grove City College, winner of the last 26 conference titles, was tied for seventh in the Mideast Region.

The USTFCCCA will update its regional rankings throughout the season, in anticipation of the NCAA Division III Cross Country Regional Championships, which will be held on November 14 at various sites throughout the country. The next regional rankings release is scheduled for September 15.  For the complete set of current rankings, click here.

Up next for the Jackets is Friday's Fisher Invitational, which is being hosted by Westminster College. The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
