HOUSTON – As part of HBU Men's Basketball's 50
th Season celebration, the Huskies named the All-Decade Team for the 1990s: Tony DiCamillo, Chad Hartley, Shannon Holmes, David Preston and Bobby Sanders.
DiCamillo was a four-year letterwinner from 1991-1995 and was elected to the HBU Sports Hall of Honor in 1999. He ranks seventh all-time in Huskies' history with 1,493 points, 10
th with 701 rebounds and ninth with a 55.4 field goal percentage.
Hartley was a four-year letterwinner from 1995-1999 and was elected to the HBU Sports Hall of Honor in 2001. He ranks third all-time in Huskies' history with 1,818 points, ninth with 325 assists and is HBU's all-time leader with 245 steals and 287 3-pointers made, ranks 14
th with 57 blocked shots and 10 in 3-point field goal percentage at 39 percent. Hartley was named Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the 1998-99 season and was the Big State Conference Freshman of the Year in 1995-96.
Holmes was a four-year letterwinner from 1991-95 and was elected to the HBU Sports Hall of Honor in 1998. He ranks fourth all-time in Huskies' history with 1,546 points and third with 811 rebounds. Holmes posted a career-high 31 points at Louisiana Christian on Dec. 21, 1994.
Preston was a two-year letterwinner from 1993-95 and was a member of the inaugural HBU Sports Hall of Honor class of 1997. He ranks 13
th all-time with 1,290 points, fifth with an 81.4 free throw percentage and recorded the fourth-highest scoring season in Huskies' history with 670 points during the 1994-95 campaign. His points per game averages of 19.7 in 94-95 and 19.4 in 93-94 each rank among the top 15 all-time at HBU. Preston also has the third highest scoring game in Huskies' history with 46 points at Huston Tillotson on February 10, 1995, and he scored 40 against East Texas Baptist on January 21, 1995.
Sanders was a four-year letterwinner from 1991-95 and was also a member of the inaugural HBU Sports Hall of Honor class of 1997. He ranks 12
th all-time with 1,321 points, second with 570 assists, eighth with 150 steals and second with 239 3-pointers made. Sanders set the HBU single-season record with 91 3-pointers made during the 1994-95 season and his 196 assists during the 1992-93 season rank fourth. He scored a career-high 30 points at Texas Tech on November 29, 1994.
