Schedule Preview for Women's Tennis

Gordon Women's Tennis will look to extend its playoff streak to three straight seasons when they take the court on the first of September. The Fighting Scots host non-conference Colby-Sawyer on that afternoon to begin their trek toward another top four seeding in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

One day later, Gordon travels to Norton to begin a home-and-home series with the Wheaton College. The Lyons went 7-9 last season and enter a new era of the program after long-time head coach Lynn Miller stepped down after 35 years.

The Fighting Scots open CCC play on the road with a trip to Dudley to play a talented Nichols squad. Gordon last beat Nichols during the 2006 season. On September 8, Gordon's welcomes its first conference opponent to Wenham with Curry coming to town.

Gordon must endure a tough three-match road trip beginning with Rhode Island College on September 10. The Anchorwomen have beaten the Scots 5-4 in each of the last two seasons. The Scots stay in Rhode Island for their next two matches with pivotal CCC showdowns at Salve Regina and Roger Williams over the next six days. Gordon split with the two schools last year, including an impressive 8-1 victory over the Seahawks.

After a home match with MASCAC opponent Worcester State the Fighting Scots hope to continue strong conference play when they host Wentworth on the 22nd. An away match with Salem State gives Gordon its final tune up before the ITA Regional event, which begins on September 25.

The Scots play two of their final three CCC matches at home. Western New England comes to Gordon on September 28 before the Fighting Scots take a trip down Grapevine Road for an Endicott matchup on the 30th. Gordon rounds out its pre-tournament matches with a Homecoming match against Eastern Nazarene at 11 a.m.

The CCC postseason begins on October 6 and Gordon will look to host a quarterfinal match for the second consecutive year. Following the CCC championships, Gordon finishes out the fall season at home against Bridgewater State. The Scots and Bears have split regular season matchups since 2013.
