Nicky Banzhaf was a large part of the Eagles' success this weekend, helping her team match their best finish ever at the RMAC Cross Country Championships held at Adams State. Banzhaf placed 14th to become the first Chadron State runner to earn first-team all-conference honors. Her time at the conference meet was the second best in program history in a 6k.
Sophomore Matt Vinson showed incredible composure at quarterback, leading the Eagles back to victory with two consecutive fourth quarter touchdown drives. Vinson turned the game around by completing nine of 14 passes in the final 7:22 of Saturday's game against Black Hills State, getting 126 of his 181 yards and two of his three scores on the decisive scoring drives of 42 and 80 yards. Vinson finished 18-of-35 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns.
