Ohio police rescue deer trapped in soccer net

MADEIRA, Ohio, April 6 (UPI) -- A pair of police officers in Ohio worked to rescue a deer that had become entangled in the net of a soccer goal.

The Madeira Police Department shared video of the officers as they worked to cut the frantic deer free from the netting.

"Great job to Officer Rick Byram and Detective Tim Vogel in safely freeing this deer without injury to the deer or themselves," the department wrote. "Also, a big thank you to residents that alerted us to this poor doe that needed our assistance."

The video shows officers attempting to untangle the deer, as it struggles and flails and flails about.

Ultimately the pair were able to cut the deer free and it can be seen running into nearby bushes.
