More enemies reveal themselves because they want the power within the magical dagger. Ilia and Alex are grieving at the loss of Nathaniel, and the only way they can cope is by going after the vampires that use to work for Sol. Their journey is rewarded, and they find some happiness before all hell breaks loose again.

Previously, Kyle wasn't my favorite guy, but he really comes through here. He makes me almost want to switch teams. But he's still a bit immature for an old vampire. There were a lot of surprising twists and turn that kept me hooked.

The only issue I had with this story was some of the dialogue.

"You're a fruit loop, crazier than a nerd with a tinfoil hat."

description

There were also a lot of Scooby Doo moments where everything is getting explained to the enemy. I rolled my eyes in some parts, but the overall story was good. I look forward to book 3!

>Book Review – Finding Immortal –

>This is the second book in the Bearwood Series series and ends in a cliffhanger.

>I never read the first book in the series, but I was able to follow the story right away. Ilia is a grieving vampire. Grieving the loss of her love, Nathaniel, in book one. Ilia has a lot of vampires, witches and what not supporting her, but the grieving she is going through seemed surprisingly realistic. There is a vampire, Kyle, who was a previous love trying to win her back. That relationship didn't feel as hopeless as was intended.

>There were a lot of battle scenes and magic spells. There was double crossing and huge surprises, especially in regards to Nathaniel's death. The bad guy, a vamp named Vincent, came across as a sad character, instead of the devil personified.

>The story was hard for me to get in to. The relationships were already set. I happen to enjoy the journey. This second book was a lot of action and surprises. Lovers of book one probably won't be disappointed. The plot didn't really move forward too much, which made this book feel a bit slow, even with the battles.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience.

*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from LoP (Lovers of Paranormal)*

We begin this book with the striking loss of our beloved Nathaniel. Ilia is having an extremely hard time coping with the loss of newfound love, and poor Alex decides to take matters into his own hands. Alex gets revenge. When months go by, Ilia joins Alex in his effort. Both are in a very bad state of mind, and when there's a remote possibility of Nathaniel being alive (undead, whatever) they bring everyone else up to speed of the plight. Nathaniel's in rough shape, but that's the least of everyone's worries when they've made some new enemies. This book was action-packed! There were great fight/magic scenes. I only didn't like that there were so many good guy deaths.... Ilia seems to get stronger throughout the book as a heroine, and Nathaniel will always be her rock. I only feel bad for Kyle because he's on the outside, like an unwanted third wheel. I seriously loved Kate, how she stayed strong through her pain and pulled through during the tough times! This book ended on a more than depressing note, so I am anxiously waiting for book three to see how things shape-up!!

4.5 STARS! FABULOUS!

Finding Immortal is a FABULOUS story!

I was at a lost at the beginning of the story, since this is the first book I’m reading in the series. However, it didn’t took me long to put the pieces together. What an excellent story. Is very well written, action-packed, steamy hot passionate scenes, suspenseful, intriguing, captivating, with lots of twists, and turns and much more. I love the way the character are being develop along the story.

Finding Immortal is an entertaining Paranormal Romance Action Pack story, made for mature audience. The story-line is incredibly interesting, and the plot very well developed. All the character are amazingly supernatural, vampires, witches, and shape shifters. However, with all the action going on there is hard to put the book or my tablet down.

E.L. Wicker is a brand new author for me, but I’m already looking forward for the next installment on this amazing series, which I highly recommend!

Nonetheless, this series tends to end with a cliffhanger on each installment, and that’s the only part I really dislike. Sorry, is just my honest personal opinion.

Due to sexual content, this book is intended for readers age 18+

I received a copy of the ePub from the Goodreads group Lovers of Paranormal (LoP) in exchange for an honest review.

E. L. Wicker’s New Adult Paranormal Romance Finding Immortal starts off where Fractured Immortal ends and leaves the reader begging for more of this original story.

The author has given Ilia a strong independent voice and her actions keep the plot moving quickly. An interesting cast of characters supports her—the many paranormal characters fill the pages of Finding Immortal. She is exposed to vampires, shapeshifters, scrivers and witches. And then there is Nathaniel—they are fire and ice. Can she/will she go on without him?

Although the story has many twists and turns the author keeps the plot moving seamlessly. The skillfully written descriptive language sets the scene for each new situation. Just when the reader thinks they have it all figured out there is another shocking revelation.

This sizzling and action packed read does not disappoint. Is Ilia’s journey over? The author should consider Bearwood Series #3.

My Thoughts:

What a nice surprise! It’s a Friday morning and you’re doing your usual Friday morning things (for me it’s eating, write mostly. And some light stalking; you know the Hot Guys Sean O’pry, Nick Bateman and Jamie Dornan etc.) When all of a sudden one of your favorites authors sent the best e-mail ever with a hot hero lands in your UB Reader shelf, one we thought was dead but he was suffering all vulnerable and sensitive yet instinctively attuned to Ilia’s vaginal needs. Isn’t that wonderful? This book was a surprise (ish – thanks E.L Wicker, you’re literally the BEST.)
Finding Immortal was all that I hoped for and more. I was pleased with A Fractured Immortal but this one is FANTASTIC.I loved everything about it (except that it ended! But there’s more COMING!!)

After Nathaniel's death, Ilia and Alex feel lost which fuels a deadly hunt for Sol's supporters. Each time they kill a vampire, the deeper they fall into their despair until one gives them information that changes everything. This book is well written with characters with whom the reader can easily identify. I can not wait to spend more time with these characters in the next installment. However, this book does end with a cliffhanger. As I finished, I actually exclaimed aloud "Noooooo, I need more!!!!" The author was new to me as I began this series and she has won me over.

What an excellent story. This second book in the series proved this author can tell a very exciting, action-packed tale! The reader who has never read the first book will quickly be able to understand this book and the fans will be blown away ! The author twists the plot and keep you on the edge of your seat. It was a wild ride. This is a true romance with enough violence and a couple of well described racy bits to keep every genre lover happy. Ilia is a complex heroine. She has evil and good which is more human than most characters written in books today. While many secrets are reviled in this book, the series has many more mysteries that need to be solved. I am eagerly awaiting the next book! What can I say? This is a great book with complex characters who try to save the human race and they do it in style. The authors has a wonderful way of creating strong memorable characters which is one of the things I really liked. Don't think that the females were waiting to be saved by hunky guys (although there are some really sexy male characters to drool over). The main character and first person narrator of the story is Iliana, a tradgic character, who lost everything she held dear while fighting to save her friends. While loose ends are tried upWhat an excellent story. This second book in the series proved this author can tell a very exciting, action-packed tale! “It’s spark of hope in the veil of darkness I’ve been living under.”

Finding Immortal is book 2 in The Bearwood Series by E. L. Wicker.
Book one left us hanging over the edge of a sad and inexplicable cliff. Ilia had finally found her second chance at love and her true identity. Likewise, her friends seemed to be doing the same. But, fate dealt her a swift blow, and she was, once again cast into darkness, finding no solace in the light. She is now turning to undesirable things to suffuse the pain.

“The night the colors in my world paled to barely recognizable blurs of insignificance."

There were so many countless things to rave over in Finding Immortal. Told from first person points of view, I was, once again, delighted to hear the voice of two of my favorite characters as they told about their experiences. Ilia's initial recounting of her day to day existence was nearly unbearable. But. as the book continued, a fresh and amazing strength and growth from Ilia was seen. Likewise, many of the other characters in the story reflected this same complexity of development.

“You can’t spend your time regretting things you cannot change.”

In book one, E. L. Wicker wrote several plot twists that greatly contributed to the overall sustainability of the story. However, in Finding Immortal, there were such surprising bends and arcs that caused the story to reach out and capture my complete attention. It made this read fast-paced and heart-jumping. One of my favorite things about the story was the way in which the author allowed readers to see the struggle and altercations between good and evil. It was surreal.

“I’m barely keeping it together as it is, and every time your body brushes mine, I want to dive inside of you."

As with any paranormal story in the romance genre, heat level is a large factor. Although this is not the main focus of the story, when this element was present, it was a heatwave of passion, and satisfied my need for the sultry and spicy.

Book three in this series cannot get to me quick enough. I greatly anticipate it.

“My heart, it beats only with yours. I simply wouldn’t exist without you.”

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP)

I read both Fractured Immortal and Finding Immortal in the same 24 hours purely because i couldn't stop reading until i knew what happened.

Finding Immortal was a really well written book all around. The story line developed excellently and every time i thought i knew what was going to happen next something completely different happened. I loved that it wasn't predictable.

The paranormal aspect was explored a lot in this book which i thought was fantastic, it gave a lot of depth to the characters and to the picture that E.L Wicker was creating. The introduction of different types of witches i thought was really interesting, and i wanted to know more about the history of magic in this book. Like the first book, it wasn't just black and white romance with vampires, it was a genuine story with highs and lows.

I loved that Ilia's relationships with both Kyle and Nathaniel were explored in this book. It would have been annoying if Kyle and Ilia's history was brushed aside, but it wasn't, which is what made Ilia's character feel so real. I also found Kyle's character really interesting, i didn't realize till this book how self sacrificing he was and i cant wait to see what happens with him next!
The romance of Nathaniel and Ilia is once again steamy! but i loved every word of it! I'm so excited to see what happens to them, my heart melts every single time Nathaniel bares his heart to express his love for Ilia.

I cannot wait to see what happens next, especially with the way things ended in the last book. The ending was again something that i 100% did not expect to happen, but its left the door open for so many possibilities which is really exciting. Absolutely loved this book as much as the first.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (Lovers of Paranormal)

I found i had a lot of unanswered questions due to not having read book one first. It was frustrating and seemed i missed a lot of important information. So reading book one is a must.
One of the things i missed was I didnt get to learn about Kyle and Nathaniel, Ilia's love's. This i felt was a key part of the story in order ot understand everything that was happening.

The romance was "nice" but i wouldnt call it steamy. I tend to view NA closer to adult this felt closer to YA.
I felt so sad for Kyle who seemed to have lost his one true love for some reason and spends a lot of time trying to make it up to Ilia even though she now loves another.

The involvment of all the characters was what kept me focused. We got to know them all. Watch them grow with thier own power which ties them all together to make them stronger.

Nathaniel and Ilia are so meant to be together but i couldnt help feeling that so were Kyle and Ilia. Maybe more will be revealed in book 3.

Whilst reading it felt that the story was telling a story if that makes sense lol. It was seemless.
I did find the book a bit slow to start, but once Ilia and Alex got some news i found the pace picked up. But never felt rushed.

I would love to have known more about Victor apparently he was not always bad. Someone changed him. I was interested to learn who. But i am guessing this was in book one with many of the other unanswered questions i have.

Nice read but make sure you read book one first.

An Awesome Second in the series!
This is the second book in the series and if you haven't read the first book Fractured Immortal, I strongly suggest that you do, to really know what is going on with the story. This book picks up after the cliffhanger of the last book although, unlike most cliffhangers this one isn't resolved within the first few pages. Still I loved this book, there is so much going on. Ilia and Alex as well as the rest of the gang have no idea of the revealed information that we the readers were given at the very end of the last book. When they found out, I was so relieved, I physically felt my body muscles loosen up not even realizing that I had been all tensed up. There is so much action and suspense in this book and love and solid loving friendship. I loved all of the characters though I have to admit that I was very suspicious of Eris from the very beginning and was shocked at the revelation about Ilia's mother. I could go on and on but don't want any spoilers to slip. I definitely recommend this read and can't wait for book 3. I was generously provided a copy through the R2R program from the Lovers of Paranormal group on Goodreads.

Finding Immortal is the second book in the Bearwood series by E.L. Wicker. After losing Nathaniel during the fight with Sol and Selena Ilia now feels even emptier than before but with that emptiness also comes worry for Nathaniel's best friend Alex who has been pushed over the edge by his death. When she goes to check on him and bring him back home she learns hes searching for Sols followers and killing them. This send her on a killing spree with him, until one of the vampires tells them something that sounds too good to be true and send them on another search, a search for answers. Finding the answers she is seeking may just come at a greater cost than she ever expected.

This book was just as good as good as the first. Again there was a cliffhanger at the end and I am not into cliffhangers but still it was a good book and was able to keep me interested the whole time. Now of course I just have to wait for the next one to come out so I can find out what happens.

The start of this book picks up directly after the first one, Fractured Immortal. After the loss of her love, Nathaniel, Ilia Rose falls apart. She has a very difficult time coping with her grief. She leaves Bearwood to look for Alex, Nathaniel’s best friend. Alex is tracking down Sol’s followers and killing them. Ilia, normally a “good” vampire, turns “bad” and joins Alex down the path of revenge. After several months of violence and excessive drinking, one vampire gives them information that snaps them out of their downward spiral.
Ilia’s friends, Lana, Kyle, and Lucas are back. The witches, Kate and Max, have a larger role in this book. We learn more about Kate’s powers, as well as, more about Ouiqara (where witches go to die).
There are several really action- packed fight scenes, some passionate love scenes, and a few I-didn’t-see-that-coming surprises. E.L. Wicker knows how to entertain her readers.
I rate this 4 stars.
Looking forward to another book in this series!

~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Ilia Rose is still reeling from Nathaniel's death. She partners up with Alex to find and destroy Sol's minions. When one meeting leads them to the possibility of finding out what really happened to Nathaniel's body. This leads to an enemy that Ilia never thought to see again. Will this new enemy and quest for truth destroy all she holds dear?
I enjoy this series and have loved reading Ilia's story. In this book we learn more her history and what really happened in her past. The story ends in another cliff hanger but that just makes me crave more. I cannot wait for E.L. Wicker to give me more. This is definitely a series to read and an author to follow.
We finally have book two of the Bearwood Series. Fractured Immortal was a total cliffhanger and given the epilogue. Well, the journey continues.
Ilia's character definitely became more badass at the same time I felt for her when she was grieving for Nathaniel's death. Then there's Alex, Ilia's previous lover and Nathaniel's best friend. There were a lot of characters especially other types of supes and of course, don't forget the battle and that bit of killing spree which in turn revealed something.
I loved the twist and turns of the story at the same time I was too sad to read the ending. It was definitely a cliffhanger for me and I hope that I would read a definitely satisfying ending.
I really enjoyed Finding Immortal, the follow up to Fractured Immortal.
Feelings I had while reading:
Sadness
Anger
Hopefulness
Excitement (a couple different kinds ;) )
Now, there are a few lulls, some slower moments that stalled the story, but not enough to deter me as a reader. I wanted, needed, to know how everything was going to go down... Nathaniel, Ilia, Kyle, Kate, every-freaking-body was well used and developed.
Wicker has a strong talent to create a vivid picture of the scene, so as a reader you experience it, you do not ready along. I look forward to seeing how the story continues to unfold.
Wow! Great story!! 5 stars
I loved this one even more than the first. Kept me up late into the night and it was like time flew as I read. This book was really exciting, dramatic, sexy on a few places but wow exciting! I sure hope there is one more to tie the story up. Yep this isn't quite the end. The end was a big surprise for me though and I'm kinda glad hopefully, it's not over because boy can this girl write! Ok I found a few places that had a missing word so better editing but it wasn't enough to bother me or slow down the story or take away from it. So yep read this series!
You know, I really don't understand why this series isn't hitting my FanGirl Favs list. It has a bit of it all: action, gore, angst, magic, an ensemble of friends that fight side-by-side, moments of hilarity, and two really really hot love scenes. The prose is... not dark... dusky? I love it. It's just missing something that's keeping it from hitting my Favs list, and I can't figure out what it is. Maybe it's that everyone bounces back so quickly from the horrors that are put upon them? I donno. Great series though!
The death of Nathaniel sent Ilia into a downward spiral, joining Alex on a killing spree of Sols remaining army.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one, you can see the quality of writing has matured vastly. The ability to weave a page-turning story that is so descriptive it transports you there, is wonderful. There was nothing to dislike about it, flowing seamlessly from one scene to another it was a joy to read.
Hurry up Emma ad write the next book, you are now one of my favorite authors playing catch-up with my speed reading.
