Tulane preparing for hostile and rowdy Oxford Regional

The Tulane Green Wave  would love to have the regional at home, but that's not the case.So they are on the road in Oxford, Mississippi, looking to win their first road regional since 2004 when they won the Oxford Regional.Some of these guys on the Tulane have never been to Oxford, including head coach David Pierce."We did have coach (Mike) Bianco's team, Ole Miss, in an early season tournament at Rice a few years ago, and that's the only time I've ever played them," said Pierce."Oxford is a great place to play. Everybody knows that, and they are going to be rowdy and we have to come ready to play," said Tulane catcher Jake Rogers."I am expecting it to be a pretty rowdy atmosphere and pretty hostile, and it kind of brings out the competitive juices and gets you playing that much better," said Tulane pitcher Emerson Gibbs.Hostile and rowdy is something Tulane is used to experiencing since play at LSU every single season.They played at Texas this season, and fans can't forget about the Green Wave playing in the Baton Rouge Regional a season ago, so Pierce's team will be ready for this regional."I think it just gives them another level of energy, and the thing is you don't need much incentive right now playing in a regional, but it's going to be an exciting time," said Pierce."We are a very experienced team. Last year, we were content with making to a regional, but this year, we are not going to be OK with just getting there. We want to win it," said Gibbs.Tulane will face Boston College Friday at 3:00 pm.
