Charlie Sheen to make Dr. Oz appearance

Charlie Sheen is set to appear on The Dr. Oz Show to discuss his HIV-positive status not two months after revealing the diagnosis on the Today show. Now, in a promo for the Monday episode, Sheen is ready to make his “next big announcement.”

In the brief spot, Sheen and Dr. Mehmet Oz go for a jog, where he tells the talk-show host about a dream he had when he was 28. “In the dream I saw myself across the road,” he says. “I had a sign around my neck. It said, ‘AIDS.’ “

“It’s going to be the most difficult thing that I ever tried to tackle,” Sheen tells Oz of his diagnosis, adding, “This disease chose the wrong person.”

His comment to Oz echoes what he told Matt Lauer on the Today show: “If there was one guy who was going to contract this who would deliver a cure, it’s me.” Sheen added that he didn’t intend to be a “poster man” for HIV, but “will not shun away from responsibilities and opportunities that drive me to help others, and deliver a cure.”
