Carol Sawyer
Bio
Carol Sawyer is a visual artist, performer and singer; her work takes the form of photographs, videos and multi-media installations. She has also created musical performances and interdisciplinary performance pieces. Her ongoing project The Natalie Brettschneider Archive, was exhibited recently at the Carleton University Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, and the Vancouver Art Gallery. A monograph on the work is scheduled to launch with an exhibition at the Koffler Gallery in Toronto in spring 2020. Sawyer's exhibition The Scholar's Study opens September 6, 2019 at Republic Gallery in Vancouver (on view until October 5th).
Carol's teaching experience includes the design and delivery of courses in interdisciplinary studio and the history of photography at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and studio courses in photography at SFU. To learn more about her work, visit her website: carolsawyer.net
