Independence Police are investigating a possible homicide after a man's body was found outside of an area gas station.Police say the incident happened at the 7-Eleven Gas Station at the corner of 24 Highway and Noland Road. This is right across the street from William Chrisman High School. The store clerk said he was taking out the trash early this morning and saw a man lying in a puddle of blood by the store's dumpster. Another man was lying next to that body. That second person has been in and questioned. Police later identified the victim as Paul Doughty, 53.They said one person is in custody, but charges in the case have not been announced.Police said the man who died had several visible wounds on his body.
