Welcome!

Welcome to your ONLINE option for the DDBC lab!  What will you find here?  Recordings about the tools that are used in our training sessions.  They are:

  • WordPress – This is the blog tool that is used to supplement the Module Webinar presentations. It is like your class textbook.
  • Gravatar – Your Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog. Why is this important? Do you wear a mask to the events you participate in?  Probably not!  Forming community online is a challenge when those who participate are masked.  That is why knowing how to present yourself electronically via your Gravatar is important.
  • PBWorks- A class wiki is a collaborative website tool you will learn to use by adding your assignments to the class wiki.
  • Twitter – One of the social media tools that allows all of us to tell our DDBC story briefly.  Through the assigned hashtag, we are able to gather participant comments.
  • Facebook – A key social media tool.  We’ll experience how to connect and communicate in a group called “Digital Discipleship Boot Camp.”
  • GoToWebinar – to help you understand our online meeting tools for live webinars, this lab will walk you through the features of GoToWebinar.

These recordings go hand in hand with the Lab eBook you will receive for this course. Please remember that online tools change their features frequently. If you find a set of instructions that doesn’t make sense, please let your coach know so we can edit our materials.

You may feel overwhelmed with the variety of tools that you are invited to use.  The best approach is to simply jump into the water with both feet and doggie paddle, swim, or whatever you need to do to stay afloat.  Your task in this training is to get comfortable with the variety of digital tools that are available to us.  Over time, you will learn what is best to use in your ministry setting.

Please click on the links above in the menu bar to access the video recordings of each Lab tool.
