It was the first time in my life I fully admitted to myself that I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t happy with who I was. Or how I looked. Or how I felt.
“I push you because I believe in you. So when they get in your head, just think about that. Maybe it’s time to start believing in yourself, too.”
“…Natalie. You, you’re weightless. The world hasn’t touched you yet. You’re not heavy with the weight of pain, and guilt, and selfishness. You’re light. Don’t ever lose that. Don’t let the world weigh you down like them. Like me.”
“I can feel your heart too, Rhodes. You’re more that what you think you have to be”
— "Every life-altering change stems from a series of small, seemingly meaningless amendments."
↬ Rhodes conveying and literally showing Natalie how beautiful her body is. He was a HUGE factor in helping Natalie find her confidence in her body and feel comfortable in her own skin.
↬ The ✨ impromptu weekend tree house camping trip ✨
↬ Punching Mason: That douche bag deserved it. He never once stood up for Natalie. I felt like cheering when Rhodes punched him.
I added Weightless to my TBR 2 years ago and been putting it off for awhile. I randomly decided to give it a read. Kandi Steiner (who is the author of this book) was a new-to-me author and overall her writing style was engaging where it held my interest but there was several pitfalls to this story and cliché dialogue between MC (e.g., the love you scene & the fight at Willow's party).
↪ Would I recommend this book? yes
↪ Steam Factor: low
↪ Relationship development: slow
↪ MC development: Natalie > Rhodes; I felt development lacked greatly for the main hero
