LANSING, MI -- Arcadia Ales is expanding its footprint east by opening a restaurant in Lansing.

Arcadia Ales owner Tim Suprise announced the project Monday, saying the decision to open its first Arcadia Ale & SmokeHouse in Lansing came after months of site selection.

Arcadia Ales will partner with restaurant group Urban Feast to open the restaurant at 2101 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing's East Side neighborhood.

The restaurant will feature "locally sourced and organic ingredients to produce ale-centric, artisan smoked meat and wood fired pizza."

The bar will be stocked with Arcadia's beers, including five beers crafted on-premise that will be available only in Lansing. The bar also will provide Michigan wines and craft cocktails.

Arcadia Ale & SmokeHouse will include an outdoor terrace and live entertainment. The restaurant will feature carry-out options for growlers, meats, sides and pizza.

Arcadia's partner, Urban Feast, is a restaurant group that owns Troppo in Lansing, Fieldhouse in East Lansing, Leo's in the Lansing area and The Grand Woods Lodge and Tavern on the Square in Grand Rapids.

"Urban Feast's penchant for building, operating and evolving unique restaurant brands is well known in Lansing and Grand Rapids," Suprise said in a press release. "This project will allow the full compliment of its experience and success to be used in executing a future neighborhood stand-by."

Suprise started Arcadia in 1996 in Battle Creek. In 2014, Arcadia expanded and moved most of its brewing to a $7 million, 30,000-square-foot building at 701 E. Michigan Ave. in Kalamazoo. The Kalamazoo brewpub also has space for brewing and packaging and serves Arcadia Ales' signature brews on 24 taps.

Arcadia will host a smoked meat and greet at Tavern & Tap in Lansing from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, for anyone who wants to know more about the new restaurant.
